Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1363: Aetheria Empire Part 10

Chapter 1363: Aetheria Empire Part 10

"You knew I was interested in your skill, so you separated from the group." The hound mused and turned to the position where Carmen’s group was.

"But did you think I can’t capture them just because my attention is on you?"

Xu Feng shrugged in response.

He stretched his neck and took a seat.

His action startled the hounds, specifically the Tier 4 Summoner.

"Is this some kind of strats, Mister Healer?" The Tier 4 Summoner asked curiously. They were unable to fathom what kind of ploy Xu Feng was trying to pull right now.

Little did the Tier 4 Summoner know that he was also trapped in Xu Feng’s scheme.

’Looks like the Origin power has piqued his curiosity.’ There was another reason why he tried to swiftly kill all the summons using the Origin power.

Given that the enemy was Tier 4, they should be able to sense his Origin power.

His Origin Cleric class was something even these top powerhouses coveted.

Hence, he had always been cautious when using these skills. Oftentimes, he would use his baptism status to conceal the Origin power.

With the baptism as a disguise, unless one heavily scrutinized him, they would always be misled.

Unfortunately, this was the first instance where Xu Feng had to expose part of it to attract the Tier 4 Summoner’s attention.

After all, their focus and intent were the Scout Army NPC Terry. Without sufficient chip and attraction, Xu Feng’s plan on baiting the Tier 4 Summoner to chase him would be destined for failure.

Still, now that he baited successfully, the pressure from a Tier 4 Summoner was no joke.

This dreadful pressure was even worse than City Magistrate Magnus.

But that was mainly because Magnus wasn’t trying to suppress or harm him as opposed to this hidden Summoner hiding behind their hounds.

And what he needed to do currently was to use the Origin power as bait and probe who they were.

"You mind removing your pressure? It’s kind of hard to converse with such pressure suppressing me." Xu Feng asked calmly.

"Heh, I doubt you can play any tricks either." The hound snickered and retracted their aura. Nevertheless, the hounds still surrounded Xu Feng and ensured there were no cracks opening for him to escape.

However, there were still extra hounds who left the vicinity, most likely to delay Carmen’s group.

The action was also purposely done in front of Xu Feng, almost as if taunting his misdirection wasn’t going to work.

’Hmph, I’ve long done something to your hounds.’ Xu Feng sneered inwardly. He was indeed at a disadvantage in the face of a Tier 4 powerhouse. But that didn’t mean he was completely helpless.

One major flaw that usually occurred in these powerhouses was their overconfidence and belief that they had everything under control.

Think of it like humans staring down at mere ants on the ground.

With just a single thought, the human could kill the ant with a single stomp.

The thought of ants retaliating or even being capable of harming them would never cross their minds.

And as such, their guards were usually down. But what if these ants developed their own set of weapons capable of overthrowing them?

If Xu Feng recalled properly, there was a movie made with that kind of scenario, and it certainly taught people a dear lesson not to underestimate ants.

Right now, he was the ant who had a weapon to retaliate.

What he did to those summoned hounds was something he obtained in the Phantasm Sea, Siren’s Echo.

Siren’s Echo enabled him to emit an eerie wail, which confuses enemies in a cone AoE for 4 seconds. During that time, they would also randomly move or attack enemies or allies.

Needless to say, he didn’t activate the skill at the moment. All he needed to do was wait for Carmen to give him the signal.

Tier 4 summoned hounds were deadly!

That statement remained true, alright. But it was precisely because it was deadly that Xu Feng could take advantage of that fact to make it deadly to themselves.

He doubted this enemy of his knew he had such a skill hidden in his belt.

Sure enough, the Tier 4 Summoner remained oblivious as they no longer wasted time on their motive.

"That Origin power... where did you find it?" The hound’s eyes narrowed and flashed a cold light.

"Origin power?" Xu Feng raised an eyebrow and appeared confused by the questioning.

"Don’t act dumb. I’ve seen the residue of it when you killed some of my hounds."

"Oh, you mean the skills I used?"

"What else?"

Right at this moment, the pressure appeared again. The controlled summoned hound inched closer to the sitting Xu Feng with a menacing look.

"A mere Tier 2 healer was capable of destroying my summoned hounds in the blink of an eye. Without the assistance of the Origin Power, you wouldn’t even be able to scrape off its defense." They commented, their four legs walking around Xu Feng in a circle. It was as if they were trying to scrutinize everything about him.

"So this power of mine is called Origin?" Xu Feng widened his eyes and glanced at his palms. "I never knew this power had such a background. I only remember stumbling into some dark environment and being forced to participate in a trial."

His body language and speech were full of bewilderment. The act was so real that even the Tier 4 Summoner couldn’t find anything amiss with it.

’Could he really not know about what this power means?’ The Tier 4 Summoner, who was situated from afar, narrowed their eyes suspiciously.

Amidst his suspicion, Xu Feng continued his ignorance and innocent act.

"By the way, how did you know this power is called Origin? Who exactly are you?" He scratched his head and asked curiously. Occasionally, he would also look to be in a daze, almost as if he figured something out but not quite. The Tier 4 Summoner’s expression turned colder. ’Here I thought it was someone strong, but it’s just a fool.’
