Chapter 1362: Aetheria Empire Part 9
Chapter 1362: Aetheria Empire Part 9
With the current number in their team, Xu Feng knew they would be sitting ducks in front of the Tier 4 Summoner.
No, it was more correct to say that they were a free-for-all buffet.
"I’ll stay with you." Carmen promptly suggested sticking with him. She couldn’t let him take all the risk himself.
"No, your summons are required to help them." Xu Feng shook his head.
"There are other summoners here." She complained and disagreed with his decision. If it were any other time, then she would have listened. But this time, the enemy was a Tier 4 Summoner. Their skills were threatening enough that all of them who were Tier 2 had to run for their lives.
"Be good." Xu Feng softly pacified her.
In the face of a Tier 4 enemy, he had no confidence in keeping Carmen safe.
Not to mention, he couldn’t afford to split his attention and instruct her on what to do.
Carmen also realized this point. Hence, she was deeply frustrated. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have lashed out at CarnageBound when the latter decided to speak something nonsensical.
Evelyn kept quiet. She understood the severity of the situation. The Oracle Grotto raid ended up being canceled because of this unexpected incident.
If it weren’t for the fact that they were being hunted down by a powerful Tier 4 Summoner, then everything would have been fine. After all, the Oracle Grotto wasn’t time-limited or anything.
Sometime later, the group was officially split, with Xu Feng taking a different path from the others.
Carmen’s face was extremely dark. Her aura alone was enough to cause others to distance themselves from her subtly.
"Could this be a scandal we discovered?" CarnageBound shrank his neck back and whispered to Evelyn.
It was hard for him not to imagine that these two had some romantic ties.
Wasn’t it just a little bit of separation to distract the enemies? Why was she acting like it was some soap opera drama where they were forever separated from each other?
"If you don’t want to get killed here, then shut your mouth." Evelyn smiled gently and warned him. She then used her eyes to signal to him that his whispering wasn’t quite a whisper.
Sure enough, like most horror movies, CarnageBound slowly turned its head slightly around.
And what greeted him was a devilish face that seemed to be waiting for him to notice their presence before meeting their end.
"You like scandals, right?" Carmen curled her lips upward and suggested. "Do head to the front and be one of the frontlines in the phalanx formation."
"I-I uhh..."
CarnageBound wanted to get help from his subordinates, only for them to quickly tilt their heads aside. Not a single one of them was willing to assist him.
Who was he kidding?
This was the Demoness who killed Tier 1 and Tier 2 players like flies!
CarnageBound couldn’t blame them for being so heartless. It was his fault for not keeping his mouth shut.
’Just you all wait once we escape this predicament!’ CarnageBound cursed silently and turned to Evelyn for help.
Alas, not only did he fail to receive any help, but he was also urged to make haste.
"Do you want us all to be wiped out, CarnageBound?" Evelyn coldly asked and pointed at the front. "Get to the front already. We’ve lost enough time idling."
Left with no other choice, CarnageBound could only grit his teeth and rush to the frontline.
’I’m never gossiping in public again.’ He vowed internally. Still, one thing was for sure.
The Demoness and the Vanguard Guild Leader had an abnormal and unspeakable hidden relationship.
While the group began their phalanx formation strategy to break through ahead, a little bit away from them, Xu Feng had successfully gained the Tier 4 Summoner’s attention.
Even though the enemies had summoned hounds to control them, they were ultimately still vulnerable to certain herbs.
The herb concoctions he made might not affect the hounds by too much, but they were definitely enough to irritate and annoy the other party.
"I still need to stall a bit more..." Xu Feng was multitasking. He was communicating with Carmen to have her constantly drop her coordinates every 5 minutes.
Because of the limited map function provided by the system, the coordinates were the only way for him to determine their distances.
Carmen: [Oracle Region 1032,988]
With the coordinates dropped, Xu Feng clicked on them and watched as a thin green line lit up. The green line was an indicator of the position of the coordinate.
Upon seeing the distance, he did a quick calculation.
"Only about 15 minutes extra, but with the Tier 4 Summoner skill... it won’t be enough."
The Oracle Region was too large, and there were too many open angles to attack the group in.
Maybe the only blessing was that there wasn’t much uneven terrain within the area. Otherwise, they would really become swarmed and surrounded by the hounds, who could maneuver complex terrain with ease.
Just when he took a second off to check the coordinates, a hound suddenly emerged from the side.
"Crap..." Xu Feng smiled bitterly. His shield instantly collided with the hound. But because it was a direct hit, his shield was shattered, and the hound’s mana residual scraped him badly.
-50,700
A whopping 50k damage was dealt to him, taking around 30% of his overall health points.
He was pushed back, and his momentum was disrupted effectively.
In the blink of an eye, Xu Feng’s path was blocked off. Multiple hounds also emerged from the shadows, surrounding him in a perfect circle.
"One moment of distraction, and that’s all it needs to be trapped." He chuckled humorously.
"You sound quite optimistic." A nearby hound spoke in an amused tone.
"What am I supposed to be? Depressed?" Xu Feng smirked and turned to the talking hound.
He wasn’t surprised by the talking hound because the speaker wasn’t the hound, but the Tier 4 Summoner.
’Hah, what’s with my luck lately?’ People just refused to let him have an easy life.
Was he some kind of protagonist in a long novel?
