Chapter 1151: Phantasm Skill
Chapter 1151: Phantasm Skill
Even after a few minutes had gone by since Xu Feng automatically absorbed the new pool’s effect, his body remained motionless.
Although he expected Burpe would soon separate from him, he didn’t expect it to be in such a manner.
He hadn’t even interacted with him long enough.
"Should I not have rushed to the final beacon shrine?" Xu Feng muttered, feeling extremely regretful.
The time they spent was brief, but those were some of the precious times when he could be himself without needing to act tough or anything.
He opened his status screen, and the pet description revolving Burpe had disappeared. When even the system no longer held any record of Burpe, it meant something special had occurred.
A special incident where even the Divine World System couldn’t hold any information about it.
There was no archive or any history regarding Burpe.
Probably, he was the only one left who actually knew of Burpe’s existence.
The other Sirens whom Xu Feng interacted with were all remnants. They were technically dead a long time ago, with only their remnants remaining in place for that specific duty.
"I feel disgusted..."
Xu Feng didn’t appreciate the fact that he could only become a bystander. He was forced to witness the whole ordeal without being able to do anything to stop it.
This kind of situation reminded him of the past timeline when he was told that he was done and booted out of the Reaver Guild.
It was the same helplessness and incapability to reverse the situation.
Everything came crashing down, and all he could do was watch it crumble.
"All good things ultimately come to an end." Xu Feng muttered, his eyes slightly narrowing. "But even if there’s an end, I can delay it."
Just because one knows there was an end, doesn’t mean one would reach there immediately.
Shaking his head, Xu Feng added a side note in his pet list and began absorbing the pool’s effect.
[To the late beloved Burpe, Phantasm Sea’s Companion]
What he found pitiful was that Burpe didn’t get a chance to interact with the Mini Earthrender. He reckoned the two of them would become great playmates, and possibly a pain in the butt to deal with.
Unfortunately, that was as far as his imagination could go as his level reached 70, alongside a new buff.
System Notification: You have fused with the merged Phantasm and Phantasia Spirit! Power amplification has been multiplied by 10! The Abyssal Tide will now become a source of power to tap into the Phantasm Skills!
Looking at the new system prompt, Xu Feng opened his skill tree, which now had an additional page called Phantasm Skills.

Reading through the Phantasm Skill Tree, Xu Feng didn’t bother to inspect the skills as much as he did in the past when receiving new ones.
Instead, what he paid attention to the most was the description text.
Description: Burpe’s sacrifice has granted the user an exclusive skill tree. For further upgrades in skills, it’s advisable for the user to continuously hunt down corrupted sea monsters and harness the Abyssal Tide. Burpe’s guarantee that once the skills are maxed, the Master would become even stronger.
He thought his emotion had subsided, but this particular text, especially the end, inadvertently caused him to feel somewhat sorrowful.
A loss of a companion in such a manner truly left a bittersweet taste in one’s mouth.
He thought he got everything under control, but the truth couldn’t be far off.
In fact, not even the so-called Phantasia Spirit could have expected its supposed scheme was destined to fail. Despite overtaking Burpe’s body, the latter was actually conscious and understood the situation.
Maybe it was because Burpe realized Xu Feng’s attitude and concern were genuine toward him that resulted in him receiving the Phantasm Skill Tree.
It could have also been a test for the Sea Traveler as to whether they deserved to gain exclusive power or not.
’Test or not, I wouldn’t have even cared.’ Xu Feng was willing to exchange the skill tree in return for Burpe.
