Chapter 1152: Burpe’s Legacy
Chapter 1152: Burpe’s Legacy
After experiencing another round of sorrowful bidding for Burpe, Xu Feng returned to his normal state and continued to absorb the pure liquid in the pool.
This was something that Burpe left behind for him!
He wouldn’t dare to disappoint Burpe and forgo them.
Arthur and the Phantasm Fish were gone. Now, even Burpe was sacrificed while taking down a sly Phantasia Spirit with him.
With such heavy debts, Xu Feng also knew what their greatest desire was: the cleansing of the corrupted Phantasm Sea.
’Whether it was an emotional outbreak to push the player to take the mission seriously or not, it certainly worked well.’ He pursed his lips.
The final villain was the Abyssal Eye, but with his current power.
Let alone trying to confront the eye, he doubted he could even encounter its true form.
Time quickly went by, and Xu Feng finally finished absorbing the pure liquid, which in turn enhanced his attributes and granted him some Abyssal Tide.
These particular Abyssal Tides were currencies used to upgrade his Phantasm Skills.
And without any hesitation, he used all of the possible Abyssal Tide to upgrade the Abyssal Dominion Skill.
Nearly every other skill would be enhanced just by upgrading the Dominion field alone. Hence, he would indeed be foolish to neglect this important toggle skill.
From level 1, the Abyssal Dominion was upgraded to level 3, and just a little bit shy of being level 4.
Even though it didn’t achieve level 4, the improvement was already noticeable.
—
Abyssal Dominion (Level 3)
Type: Toggle / Aura
Effect: When activated, the surrounding 35m area turns into the Abyssal Dominion Field, reducing enemy vision, accuracy, and movement speed by 43%. Allies gain +18% evasion and +14% HP regeneration inside the area.
Special: Certain Phantasm Skills gain enhanced effects while inside the Abyssal Dominion field.
—
The increase in the meter range and the percentage buffed was tremendous.
Even a few percent difference could become a game-changer to those who know their maximum capability!
With the pool’s effect gone, Xu Feng promptly stepped out and glanced around the surroundings.
"Hmm, Burpe brought me here, but where’s the activation location?" He rubbed his chin and murmured.
Just when he thought he might be trapped in this unknown location, his vision suddenly changed.
There were now some glittering particles in front of him.
These particles were like a guiding light, pointing in a certain direction.
’Was this something Burpe left behind as well?’ He instantly suspected the situation to be related to Burpe. Otherwise, he wouldn’t suddenly gain such a guiding light ability.
If anything, this might have been the skills related to Burpe, namely, the Guide Function.
The Guide Function from Burpe granted dungeon narration, lore insight, and navigation prompts in hidden or puzzle-based dungeons related to the Phantasm Sea.
Given the fact that he was in the Beacon Shrine, it was totally related to the Phantasm Sea. He also came to a realization how Burpe sped up and brought him to the pool without any pauses.
"Oh, Burpe... how could you just leave so early without any heads-up?" Burpe might have disappeared, but his assistance remained strong.
A few minutes later, Xu Feng began following the particle’s light. He kept his guards up and made sure to stack multiple defensive barriers.
With the chaos outside the shrine, it was better to stay cautious about possible dangers or monsters lurking inside as well.
As he carefully turned around the corner, a sharp arrow suddenly surged toward him.
Instinctively, Xu Feng sidestepped and avoided the arrow.
The arrow soon landed on the wall behind him, creating a sizzling sound.
"Poison arrow?" He raised an eyebrow. He carefully retreated a few steps to inspect the arrow.
Not only was the arrow laced with a heavy dose of poison, but it also held a piercing element.
To summarize, if Xu Feng hadn’t dodged the arrow and remained still with the barrier active, then the arrow would have pierced through the barrier and landed on him.
"So that’s why the green particle light turned yellow." He managed to dodge instinctively, mostly because of the particle lights.
Based on this brief interaction, Xu Feng reckoned that if the particle color changed to red, it meant danger. A danger that he was incapable of resisting or confronting.
After all, the piercing poison arrow might appear deadly, but it wasn’t lethal enough to kill him in one shot.
His attributes and healing abilities could easily nullify the poison effect.
As he turned around and stared at the corner where the arrow came from, the particle color remained yellow.
This probably indicated that there were more incoming arrows that had yet to be fired upon him.
"Very well." Nodding, Xu Feng smirked and decided to test out the newest skills.
In the blink of an eye, he unleashed the Abyssal Dominion and activated Phantom Riftstep within the field.
By doing so, he effectively created 2 phantom clones, which he then controlled to rush toward the yellow zone.
Swoosh!
As soon as the clones stepped foot on the zone, multiple arrows began firing at the clones.
The clones’ health dropped rapidly, but remained strong as they advanced forward.
Xu Feng even wanted to heal the clones to have them endure longer.
Unfortunately, 2 seconds later, the clones automatically exploded.
Nevertheless, the explosion radius actually managed to reach the arrow’s mechanism, essentially rendering it useless.
"Nice!" He clicked his tongue and exclaimed in joy.
He didn’t anticipate that the clone’s explosion power could be this immaculate.
The clone automatically exploded after 2 seconds, but he could also control it to explode faster.
Then what if he managed to upgrade this skill to another level?
Could he increase the time limit even further?
"If the clone’s explosion timer expands to 5 seconds, then wouldn’t I have two kamikaze clones ready at all times?" Xu Feng gasped in horror. The final gift that Burpe left for him was truly the greatest gift ever.
"This is Burpe’s legacy DLC." He solemnly declared. DLC, which stood for downloadable content, was the only correct term for this journey.
