Chapter 1074: Blessing of the Phantasm Fish

Shortly after being discovered and swimming with all his might, he narrowly escaped death by returning to the Phantasm Fish’s habitat.

Although some of the sea monsters were clearly enraged and refused to give up, they all charged into the bubble barrier cast by the Phantasm Fish.

Without much surprise, they all disintegrated upon coming into contact with the bubbles. After all, they were being purified and cleansed of the corrupting substance embedded in their body.

"Phew, good thing I gave them a tiny hit before they made contact." Xu Feng heaved a sigh of relief. He was not about to lose some great experience points by failing to touch them in advance. Such a loss would have been too hard for him to accept.

In the meantime, he wondered if this could be considered a new tactic.

Use the concealment spell and purposely expose himself to rope in a large group of sea monsters. Then bait them all into this cleansing bubble of death.

The bubbles didn’t even have any cooldown. So in a sense, it was even more viable than the hydro cannons that needed to cool off the steam before it could be fired again.

Alas, such a thought could only be put aside for now. His main objective was to inform the fellow Phantasm Fish of his completion and change their scales to an unveiled version.

Killing and earning experience points were only secondary as opposed to this main mission.

Sometime later, Xu Feng swam toward the Phantasm Fish’s habitat to complete his mission.

"You’re really the Sea Traveler. You saved me from a major predicament."

"You are forever our friend, Sea Traveler."

"Oh my gosh, this is my family heirloom. I thought I would never be able to see it again. Bless you, Sea Traveler."

In the blink of an eye, Xu Feng’s merit and approval soared to a new height as each one of the Phantasm Fish expressed their gratitude and unveiled their unique scales. They were all so grateful and emotional for having their request accomplished.

Before long, Xu Feng swam toward the last Phantasm Fish’s request, Joy.

"This is the small pearl that you’ve lost." Xu Feng took out the small pearl and showed it to Joy.

Joy instantly beamed in excitement and rushed over to glance at the small pearl.

"My savior!" Joy exclaimed loudly and stared at him with a profound gaze.

"May the Phantasm Sea bless the Sea Traveler. It’s our fortune to have finally encountered you." She continued and began to close her eyes. Soon, a surge of magic overwhelmed Xu Feng on the spot.

Blessing of the Phantasm Fish (Passive/Active Blessing)

Type: Magical Blessing

Description: You have been marked as a true friend of the Phantasm Fish, protectors of purity within the Phantasm Sea. Their gratitude manifests as a shimmering enchantment that now flows through your body like gentle tides, cleansing all that is foul and bolstering your resilience in the face of corruption.

Effects:

Purity Bubble (Passive Aura): While underwater, your body passively generates a faint aura of purifying bubbles within a small radius (5 meters). Hostile creatures corrupted by abyssal or toxic energies take damage when they enter the bubble zone, and may even disintegrate if their corruption exceeds a critical threshold.

Damage scales with Intelligence.

Enemies defeated by the aura still grant full experience if struck by the user beforehand. (Bypass any experience points debuff)

No cooldown. Does not function on land.

Blessed Tide (Active – 3 use/day): Instantly cleanse yourself and up to 3 allies of all debuffs, status ailments, or corruptive marks. Grants temporary resistance to abyssal or mind-altering effects for 30 seconds.

Additional Bonuses:

+20% Resistance to Corruption and Abyssal Effects

+10% Favorability Gain when interacting with aquatic NPCs related to the Phantasm Sea

"Are you alright, Sea Traveler?" Joy asked in concern.

"Ah, yes, I was just immersed in your emotion." Xu Feng chuckled softly and gave an excuse right away. "The small pearl must have been very important to you, so to be reunited with it must have been exhilarating."

"Yes, this small pearl is very dear to me." Joy nodded their fish head and said, "Ah, right, Elder Arthur has said that you are to meet with him once you return. We won’t hold you up any longer, Sea Traveler."

Having said her words, Joy grasped the small pearl with her fin and dashed back to her habitat.

Even a fool could tell how excited she was and couldn’t wait to inform her family that the small pearl had been retrieved.

Shaking his head, Xu Feng turned around and swam forward. Although he was intrigued by the Magical Blessing, he was more than ready to complete the beacon and get out of here.

Communicating with fish... let’s just say it was quite awkward.

Sometime later, Xu Feng arrived at the warship and spotted Arthur from afar.

"Sir Arthur, I’ve heard you want to meet with me right away." He quickly approached him and said.

"Yes, the beacon shrine has been reacting strongly. This means that you have been doing a very great job in assisting my kind." Arthur said meaningfully, his gaze remained locked on Burpe.

"I have also checked on the Phantasm Spirit’s condition. I reckon he will awaken soon. By then, the changes in the Phantasm Sea would start to show. I hope the Sea Traveler can be prepared at that time."

"Be prepared?" Xu Feng raised an eyebrow. Was he not prepared enough with all these utility tools?

"Yes, you need to be prepared," Arthur repeated in a more solemn tone. "I see that you have already received our species’ blessing. It would help alleviate some of your troubles, but it still wouldn’t be enough. The awakening of the Phantasm Spirit will alert the true enemy in the Phantasm Sea. All corrupted species would soon target you in a reckless manner that disregards their lives."
