Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out?

Chapter 1712: Battlefield

Chapter 1712: Battlefield

—–

Aquarina came back to her senses with the rest of her friends, their bodies were fine and had not been attacked yet, they felt relieved and even talked a bit, only for her to quickly realize there was something going on!

BBZZZZZTTTT!!!

As she regained her senses and heard her friends talking, suddenly, her eyes widened as her hears began hearing something, noticing a horrendous sound of hundreds of gigantic wings flying everywhere, which even reminded her of the sound the insectoid demons created when they invaded Agartha a couple of years ago.

However, things were far from that, they weren’t in Agartha but in the wilderness, and these weren’t insectoid demons but giant ants with wings! Yes, winged ants existed, apparently. Aquarina and her friends saw hundreds of flying ants covered in flames, buzzing and spitting giant fireballs from their mandibles.

“W-What the…?!”

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Countless explosions reached them, as Aquarina was quick enough to react, and tried to defend her friends, only to realize no flames reached them, someone or something was already protecting them.

“W-What’s going on? Are those giant ants?!” Silvia cried in disbelief.

“Yeah, they’re attacking us!” Justicio nodded.

“No way… They came after us even though we were hiding pretty well?” Agua wondered.

As everyone talked, Aquarina noticed something, a giant blue colored psychic barrier had been created, which protected everyone from the incoming projectiles. She looked at a little blue slime on top of it, realizing Pyuku was conjuring it all of that while firing hundreds of Slime Bullets from his body, trying to buy time for everyone else.

“Pyuku!” Aquarina said.

“Has he been protecting us this entire time?” Silvia wondered.

“I believe so…” Justicio nodded.

“Ah, we have to do something quickly!” Agua was panicking a bit.

“So many flighted ants… I had no idea they could fly to begin with,” Quetzalcoatl said.

Aquarina quickly noticed that by Pyuku’s side was Undine and Leviathan, mightily fighting the Ants with their powerful Spiritual Magic and Skills, but the three alone weren’t enough.

Undine was summoning dozens of rivers in the sky, encompassing and shooting down the flying ants slowly, while Leviathan clashed with them directly, biting them and freezing their body parts while doing so.

They had managed to hold on for a couple of minutes, but they were already at their limit!

“You guys, you’ve been fighting a lot…!” Aquarina sighed, standing up as her Aura began to release from her body. “Thanks for protecting us…”

“I-Is that Khepri?! She’s also fighting!” Silvia noticed her spirit on the battlefield.

Khepri was by Pyuku’s side as well, having already summoned all three of her armaments and combining them into a female-like mechanical golem of over ten meters of height, battling the ants with her life on the line.

She summoned giant cannons from her shoulders and fired laser beams made of solar radiation she absorbed from the strong sunlight above the skies, all while she punched and kicked her foes, summoning shields of solar radiation and also swords and spears, which she used to kill the ants that got closer.

Noticing the commotion behind him, Pyuku looked down, realizing that they were finally awake. Quetzalcoatl had done as he promised and brought them back from the mindscape!

“E-Everyone! Are you finally back?! We have to fight back or escape!” Pyuku said, as he rushed down towards Aquarina. “There’s a swarm of like two hundred flying ants everywhere!”

“They’re very hardy to take down as well!” Undine said, firing downpours of water and entangling as many ants as she could, even though many ended up escaping her grasp and firing fireballs at her, which her water barriers defended her from, although they collapsed after a few hits. “They’re all Tier 7 or above…! These are also flighted, making them harder to target!”

“Roooaaarr!” Leviathan called for Aquarina as he noticed she was back, releasing a giant freezing breath on his way down, freezing and destroying a dozen ants.

“Silvia! You’re finally back! Hurry up and get inside!” Khepri rushed towards them, passing through the barrier and opening her mechanical body, revealing the interior with a seat and several screens, Silvia usually “piloted” Khepri this way.

BBBZZZZTTTT!

As this happened, the horrendous sound of the flapping wings of the Giant Flying Fire Ants echoed above the skies, they gathered together into a massive swarm, beginning to push Undine down until she entered the Psychic barrier too, and then started hitting the barrier, hundreds of them at a time.

“Alright everyone, we literally don’t have any other alternative than to fight!” Aquarina said. “Let’s do this! We have to break through this!”

“B-But what about the requirements?!” Agua said. “Is it okay?”

“Don’t worry about that now, Agua! There’s thousands of those ants down below anyway!” Aquarina said. “We’re breaking through this and… retreating! We can’t handle this.”

Aquarina would have recklessly charged into the danger of this giant nest before, but she had changed a bit, she had matured through her training and her new friends.

She was now responsible for everyone here, she couldn’t let them charge recklessly and end up dying, even less against a foe with divine power.

“W-We’re retreating?!” Silvia asked. “But we haven’t even gotten to the nest…”

“I know! But it’s late already, and we’re tired,” Aquarina said. “Also, we can’t just ignore what we saw. I have to tell my parents and the villagers about this… It’s probably a larger enemy than everyone thought!”

Crack, crack…!

“Uuggh! E-Everyone! I can’t keep it up anymore, we have to fight back, the barrier’s about to break!” Pyuku screamed.

Aquarina nodded, fully transforming again into her draconic form, and then calling Undine and Leviathan, who entered her body to rest and also give her more spiritual power.

“Alright! Pyuku, get inside my Soulscape, we’ll handle things from here!” Aquarina said. “Hey Quetz, can you still fight?”

“Y-Yeah…!” Quetz nodded, releasing his Divine Spiritual Aura of Winds, which resembled a giant feral bird, his former appearance, merging into his body to cover him with an ethereal armor of winds. “I can!”

His new “form” wasn’t quite beastly at all but encompassed his body with tremendous new spiritual powers. Something that, despite how new it felt to him, was done almost automatically.

“This… is my new power?”
