Chapter 507: Chapter 430: Discovering the Zombie Kingdom (Part 2)
They had scratched up each other’s faces and arms.
At first, they thought it was just the two of them feeling insecure around a new playmate. So, several times, the adults tried to get the two little ones to familiarize themselves with each other while they were present.
However, things were fine as long as the adults were watching. The two tykes would just ignore each other and play on their own.
But the moment the adults looked away, they would start fighting again. And each time, it was more vicious than the last.
This was especially true for Isaac, who was half a year older than Polly. Since he couldn’t beat Polly, he’d end up getting scratched until he was battered and bleeding.
Although Flora Bloom had spiritual water to help Isaac recover quickly, this couldn’t go on. So, after some discussion, they agreed it was safer to keep the two kids separated.
Joel Bloom fretted for a long time. "If my brother-in-law finds out you took Polly out on an adventure by yourself, you might be fine, but I’ll be in deep trouble."
Flora Bloom paid no mind to Joel Bloom’s nagging. Over the past year, the Golden Crow had absorbed countless Crystal Cores, reaching the peak of the Nebula Level. Its size had become truly exaggerated.
The original golden parasol tree could no longer serve as its perch, so it naturally couldn’t continue its grand task of incubating the egg. Thus, it hid the phoenix egg in its massive beak.
Flora Bloom had once worried that the Golden Crow might accidentally swallow the egg while breathing fire or eating Crystal Cores. However, that wasn’t the case.
The egg was hidden in a soft, pouch-like compartment under the Golden Crow’s beak. It was as if it had a space under its tongue for storing the egg, holding it there for safekeeping.
Neither the searing True Sun Fire nor the consumption of Crystal Cores affected the egg in any way.
And a Golden Crow this enormous, much like the War Wolf Clan cub, had long since been allowed to roam free by Flora Bloom.
Because their bodies had grown to an outrageous size, far beyond the likes of Vert and Snowy. Even a colossus couldn’t compare to them.
The War Wolf Clan cub was also a fearsome character. It had been belligerent since it was young. It started by fighting the wild beasts in the forests of Morhaven, and as it grew, it began venturing out on its own to battle zombie hordes or various other life forms near Morhaven.
Every time it was injured, it would refuse Flora Bloom’s healing spiritual water.
Flora Bloom had no idea what it had been through to grow to the size of a small mountain in the blink of an eye.
Flora Bloom leaped onto the Golden Crow’s back with Polly and Joel Bloom, ignoring the little Nightmare Beast, which was WHIMPERING as the Rose vine held it tight.
"Joel, you navigate. Based on what you said, to avoid being spotted... Golden Crow, fly a little higher."
The two of them sat with Polly on the Golden Crow’s back as if on solid ground. No matter how high it flew, they were unaffected by the fierce winds rushing past them.
Flora Bloom had tested it before. The Golden Crow’s flight altitude was far higher than the maximum altitude of an airplane. Its speed was also more than ten times faster than a plane.
As the Golden Crow grew, the flight from Morhaven to Argent, which originally took over an hour, was shortened to half an hour. But right now, their destination was a mountainous area just ten minutes from Morhaven.
Before the apocalypse, this had been a bustling commercial district. No one knew when a mountain as tall as a 28-story building had suddenly risen here.
The Golden Crow was too massive; if it descended too low, it would be easily spotted. So, Flora Bloom had it descend to only two or three thousand meters before it began to circle.
Through the sparse, scattered clouds, Flora Bloom could only see a horde of zombies below that looked like ants, and the area they occupied was immense.
Even from so high up, Flora Bloom could sense that in the area below—roughly the size of two cities combined—there were no buildings, no plants, not even a single living creature.
There were only zombie-like creatures.
Although she couldn’t see the situation clearly, it was indeed the first time Flora Bloom had ever seen such a massive zombie horde.
Down there, Flora Bloom could sense no fewer than a thousand Middle-Level zombies alone. There were even three High-level zombies.
The low-level zombies were countless. The sheer mass of Death Energy from the horde made it impossible to discern their numbers.
"Sis, I can’t see clearly. Should we go a little lower?"
Flora Bloom shook her head. Her expression wasn’t panicked, but it was exceptionally grave. "No need. I have a rough idea of the situation below.
The number of low-level zombies there already exceeds the entire population of Morhaven. There are over a thousand Middle-Level zombies, three High-level ones, and a good number of zombified animals. We can’t get too close.
And look, even though we can’t make out their features clearly from above the clouds, you can see the formation of the horde.
Those densely packed black dots on the outermost ring are all low-level zombies, and they’re arranged in perfect order by rank, from Level 1 to Level 3."
