Chapter 506: Chapter 430: Discovering a Zombie Kingdom

Joel Bloom was discussing the scene he had witnessed with Flora Bloom. "The zombie horde on the perimeter numbers in the tens of thousands, at least. And Sis, I have a feeling the zombies on the outskirts are patrolling in an organized, purposeful way.

I also saw zombie birds and other undead creatures acting as lookouts. I didn’t dare venture too deep or linger for long, for fear of being discovered.

From what I could see, something’s definitely off in there. That’s why I wanted to borrow the Golden Crow to investigate the situation further.

My brother-in-law told me during my special training that whenever a large horde of zombies gathers, there’s bound to be a leader controlling them, manipulating them for a specific purpose.

From what I’ve seen, that horde of zombies isn’t just a simple gathering."

"Have you tried to control the zombies on the perimeter again?"

Joel shook his head. "I tried. I can control them for a moment, but my control is quickly overridden by an energy emanating from deeper within the horde. There seems to be something powerful in there, with spiritual power far stronger than mine. The moment its spiritual power made contact with mine, the spiritual power I had spread throughout the horde just dissipated.

The only reason I can still maintain any connection with the zombies is because of this mass of Death Energy."

Joel opened his palm, revealing the Death Energy. The mass of energy was completely pliable, allowing him to flatten it, roll it into a sphere, and change it into all sorts of shapes. The sight sent Flora Bloom’s mind racing.

She tried to summon the black ant that was still lying dormant in her personal space.

Given her mastery over her space, Flora Bloom knew with certainty that this black ant wasn’t a living creature, but rather a very strange kind of entity.

An ant-like form condensed from Death Energy.

Yet, the black ant had a Life Crystal Core inside its body. It was an extremely strange phenomenon.

It was as if someone had sculpted the ant from Death Energy, then placed a Crystal Core inside its body to allow it to exist independently.

It was from the same source as the Death Energy in Joel’s hand.

’Could it be?’ she suddenly wondered. ’On the day I gave birth, Shelton Underwood injected Death Energy into Joel’s body right before he died. Is that what caused Joel to awaken his Control Ability?’

’No wonder the awakening potion didn’t seem to work on Joel, yet he managed to awaken his Control Ability on his own the very next day. The potion must have acted as some kind of catalyst.’

"Come on. I’ll go with you and check it out."

"Sis, shouldn’t you tell my brother-in-law?"

Flora Bloom shot him a glare. "Since when did you become his little lackey? Let’s go, let’s go. We’re leaving right now."

As she spoke, Flora Bloom rushed over to the wisteria trellis and scooped up Polly, whose hands were covered in honey. She shot a glare at the Little Nightmare Beast, who was still busy licking the honey from Polly’s little fingers. "You can’t beat Little Bee on your own, so you egg on your little master to raid the hive for you. You’ve really got some nerve!"

The Nightmare Beast was the main reason Polly was always wreaking havoc on the enormous honeycomb Little Bee had built on the wisteria trellis.

For some reason, the Nightmare Beast didn’t eat meat or plants. Aside from Crystal Cores, the only thing it had a particular fondness for was honey.

Flora Bloom had only forbidden the creatures on the villa grounds from attacking her mischievous daughter. She placed no such restrictions on them when it came to the Nightmare Beast.

This was because the Nightmare Beast was even more destructive than Polly. If Flora Bloom didn’t keep an eye on them, the master-and-servant duo—one human, one beast—would tear the whole place apart. One would wreck the house, while the other would dismantle the ecosystem she had worked so hard to cultivate. Given enough time, they could turn the entire Villa Number Three compound upside down.

She had originally tasked Vert, Snowy, and the Giant Python with watching them, but none of them could defeat the Little Nightmare Beast—not Snowy with its Thunder Element, not Vert with its Wind Element, and not even the Giant Python with its Water Element and Power System abilities.

Not only could they not win, but even when they tried to gang up on it after a defeat, they couldn’t even catch it.

The brazen Nightmare Beast was only helpless against the Rose vines in Flora Bloom’s courtyard. This led Flora Bloom to a single conclusion: evolved beasts were incapable of babysitting Polly as long as she had the Nightmare Beast with her.

Consequently, Flora Bloom began to see the Rose vines, which had been growing quietly in the villa’s courtyard, in a completely new light.

’Anything that can restrain the Nightmare Beast—a creature whose life level is on par with my Divine-level space—has immense potential for future evolution.’

Watching his sister, Flora Bloom, expertly scoop up Polly and strap her into the baby carrier on her chest, Joel felt his heart leap into his throat.

"Sis, where we’re going could be dangerous. Shouldn’t we leave Polly here? We could just have Selina come over and watch her."

Flora Bloom just smiled, not pausing in her actions.

"Selina already has her hands full with that little rascal of hers. It’s better if I keep this one with me and watch her myself."

Strangely enough, before Polly was born, Selina’s son, Isaac, had been a very well-behaved child. But from the moment Polly was born, the two little ones got into a fight the very first time they met, with one-year-old Isaac brawling with a six-month-old Polly.
