“Oh, don’t stand on ceremony with me.” Wang Xiang didn’t give him a chance to refuse.

She just handed the basket right over.

Qin Wenhao had no choice but to take it. “Well, thank you, ma’am.”

Qin Wenhao brought the basket of steamed buns inside.

But she’d taken a shower first, and then Qin Wenhao came home, so it slipped her mind.

He didn’t eat any of the steamed buns either.

After all, they’d had plenty of dumplings for breakfast.

When he finished eating, Fu Mingxue went into their room, brought out some candy and pastries, and placed them in the basket.

“Should we give some candy to the others in the family compound?”

“All right.” Fu Mingxue had only asked on a whim.

She didn’t really maintain relationships with the neighbors in the compound.

“It’s getting late. I’m off to work.”

Then she got on her bicycle and rode off.

“Mom, they’re fruit drops! I want one,” her older daughter said excitedly.

Her younger son quickly chimed in, “Mom, I want one too.”

Seeing this, Wang Xiang gave them each two pieces.

“Make them last. Don’t you go eating both of them at once.”

It was a rare treat for the two children to get this kind of fruit candy.

Even though their mother had only given them two pieces each,

it was more than enough to make the siblings happy.

“Mom, when you eat the rest of the candy, can you save the wrappers for me?”

“Mom, I want the wrappers too.”

Wang Xiang couldn’t help but roll her eyes at her son’s words.

“Your sister’s a girl, so it makes sense for her to want them. But you’re a boy, what do you need candy wrappers for? All right, now, scram. If you don’t, I’m taking that candy back.”

The moment she said that, the two children bolted.
