Chapter 669: How Can You Blame Others for Your Own Problem?

  • Next Chapter

Qin Wenhao first went to the training ground to assign some tasks.

Then he went to his office.

Since it was Sunday, he knew his father would be home.

So, he just had to call the house directly.

When Mrs. Qin heard the phone ring, she picked it up. “Hello, this is the Qin residence. Who may I ask is calling?”

Qin Wenhao’s voice came through. “It’s me. Put my dad on.”

Mrs. Qin: …?

‘Is he saying I’m not good enough to talk to?’

She rolled her eyes. “Fine. Hold on.”

She called out to Mr. Qin, who was reading the newspaper, “Stop reading. It’s your younger son on the phone.”

Mr. Qin: …?

He walked over and took the receiver. “It’s me.”

“Dad, about that Luo Lanqing business, why didn’t you call me about it sooner?”

Mr. Qin: …?

‘Why is he starting off with an accusation?’

“I already handled the matter. Besides, I thought you were away on a mission, so I didn’t say anything.”

Since he’d already resolved it, he didn’t think much more of it.

The main reason was he thought his younger son was away on a mission.

After all, his younger son hadn’t called home in a long time.

Even with his wife in Beijing City, he hadn’t called home—if that wasn’t being on a mission, what was?

Qin Wenhao didn’t want to dwell on the issue.

In any case, there was no point complaining now about his dad not calling to inform him.

“Alright, then. Let my mother-in-law know that Mingxue arrived at the base housing yesterday. If anything comes up at home in the future, you can just call the base directly. Mingxue will be pretty busy with work for the next couple of days, so she won’t have time to call.”

“Oh, Mingxue is back at the base housing? That’s great. Okay, I understand. You two don’t need to worry about things at home. Everything’s fine.”

Qin Wenhao was still annoyed that his father hadn’t told him about Luo Lanqing.

So, when he heard his father’s words, he couldn’t help but retort, “If everything was really so fine, how did you let that Luo woman show up at our door?”

Mr. Qin: …?

He was so angry he almost laughed.

So this time, he didn’t indulge him.

“Why do you think that Luo woman showed up? Shouldn’t you be asking yourself that? Shouldn’t you do some self-reflection? If you had handled this properly last time, would any of this even be happening now?”

“Your wife and your mother-in-law had to suffer unnecessary grief all because you failed to handle this properly. Qin Wenhao, you’re the one who really needs to take a good, hard look at himself.”

With that, he hung up the phone.

But his anger hadn’t subsided.

“That boy, Qin Wenhao, has really got some nerve now. Blaming others for his own problems.”

Although Mrs. Qin hadn’t heard what Qin Wenhao said on the other end of the line, she could piece together what had happened from Mr. Qin’s side of the conversation.

“I always say raising sons is useless. Just look at them, what a piece of work, each and every one.”

Qin Wenze, who was just walking in from outside, happened to hear that exact sentence.

His steps faltered—’Is it too late to back out now?’

‘Did Qin Wenhao say something to piss them off again? And drag me into it?’

‘There’s no one you can even complain to about this injustice.’

However, the fuming couple really had no time to pay him any mind.

“Is Mingxue at the base housing?”

Mrs. Qin asked.

Mr. Qin nodded. “Yes. Mingxue probably told him about that Luo Lanqing business, so that boy called us to demand an explanation.”

Mrs. Qin snorted coldly. “He’s getting more and more brainless. It’s a good thing I get along well with my daughter-in-law. If this were any other family, a stunt like that would surely cause a fight between the in-laws. After all, anyone who didn’t know better would think Mingxue was running to him to complain about us!”
