Reborn in the 80s and Remarrying an Officer, Let the Ungrateful Cry!
Chapter 580: Arguing Again
Gao Lan was still storming out of the alley when she ran into Qin Wenze on his way home.
Seeing her expression, Qin Wenze couldn’t help but ask, "Where are you off to?"
The moment Gao Lan saw him, her anger flared.
She roared, "Qin Wenze, what is your family thinking? Why did they buy another house for your brother’s family?"
Qin Wenze’s brow furrowed the moment he heard her words.
’How does Gao Lan already know about the house?’
’And why is she so angry?’
"Your sister-in-law bought the house herself. Let’s talk about this at home."
He reached for Gao Lan’s sleeve, trying to get her to come home with him.
But she violently shook him off.
"Go home to what? Can you even call that place a home? We’re just living off their scraps! The Qin family goes too far. Aren’t you a son of the Qin family? Am I not their daughter-in-law?"
They were supposed to be the eldest son and daughter-in-law, but now it was clear—the two of them meant less than nothing.
Qin Wenze’s brother’s family got everything.
’Is it just because I’m not as good as Fu Mingxue?’
Qin Wenze’s face darkened as he listened to Gao Lan’s furious tirade.
He snapped, "Gao Lan, stop making a scene and come home with me right now."
Her shouting had drawn out many of the local residents, who were now watching the spectacle.
Their stares made him feel incredibly awkward and humiliated.
Never in his life had he been gawked at like this for a marital dispute.
"I’m not going back! I’m going to ask your parents—what right do they have to treat us so differently?"
Seeing her relentless attitude, Qin Wenze was suddenly overcome with exhaustion and impatience.
His expression immediately turned cold.
"Fine, I’ll tell you why. It’s because I’ve already split our household from the Qin family. From now on, we’re on our own. Stop obsessing over the Qin family’s money and possessions."
"And I’ll say it again: she bought that house with her own bonus money. If you want a house, use your own bonus to buy one. No one’s stopping you. Then you won’t have to be jealous of anyone else."
With that said, he ignored Gao Lan’s look of utter disbelief and strode away toward home.
Gao Lan stared in disbelief at his receding figure.
’How... how could he say that?’
’If I had the means to buy a house myself, would I have needed to marry a divorcé like him?’
Rage burned away all her reason. She shrieked at his back, "Qin Wenze, you heartless bastard! It was the Qin family that ruined me—"
Qin Wenze hadn’t wanted to engage with her any further.
But those words stopped him dead in his tracks. He spun around.
His expression was grim. "Gao Lan, how did the Qin family ruin you? That day, you knew Qiaoqiao had fallen and that Qin Yue would run to her. You insisted on standing right in the way, so he bumped into you by accident. What, are you really going to pin the blame for everything on a child?"
"And another thing! I did what you wanted and adopted your nephew. Is that still not enough? For you, I’m not even raising my own children! I’m raising your nephew with you! What more could you possibly want?"
"If you really think you can’t go on like this, then fine, let’s get a divorce."
He was so sick of these constant arguments.
’He’d thought his young children needed a mother.’
’But as it turned out, not only did his children not gain a loving mother, they lost their father too.’
’The thought that his two children wanted nothing to do with him... Just thinking about it made his heart ache with guilt and pain.’
