Reborn in the 80s and Remarrying an Officer, Let the Ungrateful Cry!
Chapter 579: Too Biased
Qin Wenze wanted to see his son and daughter, but they were upstairs.
He called for them a few times, but they didn’t come down.
So he just went home.
After her eldest son left, Mrs. Qin suddenly remembered something. "Oh no. That fool isn’t going to tell his wife about Fu Mingxue buying a house, is he?"
Mr. Qin was puzzled. "So what if he does? It’s not like Fu Mingxue stole or robbed to buy the house. What’s there to hide?"
Hearing this, Mrs. Qin couldn’t help but roll her eyes.
"You think just like your eldest son. Gao Lan is already jealous of the courtyard house Fu Mingxue lives in. If she finds out Mingxue bought the house next door, won’t she get even more jealous?"
Mr. Qin: ...?
’What’s there to be jealous about?’
He was very puzzled.
’You do what you’re capable of doing.’
’If they had the money and the means, they could just buy one themselves. Why be jealous of other people?’
’Then there’s Fu Mingxue’s high monthly salary. Is she supposed to be jealous of that too?’

However, Mrs. Qin had guessed wrong. Qin Wenze didn’t mention the house when he went home.
But Gao Lan found out anyway.
That afternoon, Mrs. Qin and Mrs. Fu were at the new courtyard house, cleaning and tidying up, and plenty of neighbors saw them.
One of the onlookers was a nanny who worked for one of the neighboring families.
As luck would have it, she was a relative of Gao Lan’s.
She told the story as soon as she got home that afternoon.
The moment Mrs. Gao heard that her daughter’s sister-in-law had actually bought the house next door, she was livid.
She hopped on her bicycle and frantically pedaled over to Gao Lan’s place.
"Mom, why are you here now? Is something the matter?"
"’What’s the matter?’ It’s a huge matter! Look at you, you clueless fool, completely in the dark. Your sister-in-law bought the courtyard house next to hers—did you know about that or not?"
"What courtyard house?" Gao Lan was confused.
Her daughter’s cluelessness made Mrs. Gao see red.
"Your sister-in-law bought another house! The courtyard house, right next to hers! You really know nothing about it at all?"
Now Gao Lan understood perfectly.
She was utterly stunned, her voice rising uncontrollably. "What? She bought another house? The courtyard house next door?"
"Yes! It was your cousin-in-law who told me. She works over there, doesn’t she? This afternoon, she saw it with her own eyes: your mother-in-law and your sister-in-law’s mother, cleaning that courtyard together. When someone asked, they admitted it themselves—that the house was bought by your sister-in-law."
"You’re both daughters-in-law of the Qin family. Look at her, buying one house after another. And you? You’ve got absolutely nothing! This little yard of yours isn’t even half the size of one of her houses."
That was a proper courtyard house; how could this small yard possibly compare?
Gao Lan’s eyes instantly reddened. "They’ve gone too far! This is just humiliating!"
"You have to go to the Qin family and demand an explanation," Mrs. Gao said, fuming. "Why are they treating their two sons so differently? It’s one thing to play favorites, but they can’t be this blatant about it!"
After all, if her daughter got nothing, it meant the Gao Family got nothing.
Fighting for this house was, in effect, fighting for her grandson.
It was all part of her grandson’s inheritance.
Otherwise, why would she have let her perfectly fine grandson be adopted into the Qin family?
It wasn’t as if she’d done it just so he’d have food on the table.
The Gao Family wasn’t short on food.
In her mind, the Qin family had bought Fu Mingxue that new house.
It wasn’t just Mrs. Gao who thought this way; Gao Lan thought so too.
So, the news about the house made Gao Lan sick with anger.
"You go to the Qin family and demand an explanation. I’ll head home and wait for news."
Mrs. Gao could only egg her daughter on, as she herself didn’t dare go to the Qin family’s home.
