Next to him, You Jingyi, had been feeling restless since he returned. He kept glancing at Little Star’s house, watching her lights go out and come back on again, repeating several times. He wondered if she discovered the gift he hid in the flowers.

You Jingyi originally thought he would chance upon her the next day and casually ask if she liked the gift from yesterday. But he waited all morning without seeing her.

In the end, he could only go to school feeling disappointed. Shang Ou saw him and eagerly pulled him aside to ask about the situation yesterday.

You Jingyi frowned slightly and said, "She didn’t respond."

"Ah... does she not like you, or does she like you? How did you ask?"

"I didn’t ask."

"Ah... if you didn’t ask, how could she respond to you?" Shang Ou was confused by his vague words, thinking he should have been there to guide him yesterday.

Little Star thought about it all day today. After returning home from school, she decided to find a study-related excuse to chat with You Jingyi, mentioning how she was so busy these past few days that she forgot to tell him she liked the gift.

Little Star looked towards her doorway and saw Aunt Wang. She had to smile apologetically at You Jingyi and turned to head back home.

"Aunt Wang, what brings you here." Little Star ran up to Wang Leqin, smiling and giving her a hug.

Wang Leqin affectionately patted her and said, "I came for an event here, and your mom happened to ask me to bring you something."

Little Star looked down and saw that Aunt Wang had brought her such a big suitcase. "Aunt Wang, why did you bring so much."

"I had my assistant rent a car here and she just went to the hotel to arrange things. She’ll pick me up later."

Little Star opened the door while smiling, "Why stay at a hotel? Aunt Wang, you can just stay with me. I’m home alone and it’s quite boring."

"Not these days. The event location is somewhat far from here, so it’s inconvenient to go back and forth. I’ll come stay with you for a few days once it ends. Just don’t find me annoying then."

"I would love that," Little Star laughed as she led Wang Leqin in, and the two of them carried the large suitcase inside once again.

You Jingyi saw it all from the doorway. That woman called her Xingxing, and seeing how close they were, she must be a relative.

Watching her relative bring such a large suitcase, it seemed to contain a lot of things for her. He had originally planned to go over later today with an excuse to see her. But unexpectedly ran into her just as he stepped out, seeing her smile at him, You Jingyi’s disappointment from these past few days disappeared instantly.

The suitcase wasn’t very heavy. Little Star immediately opened it when she got inside and found it was full of snacks her mom had prepared for her. They were common in their area and all of Little Star’s favorites.

"Look, your mom knows you well. She knew these weren’t available here, so she sent a bunch of your favorite snacks," Wang Leqin commented. It was her first time here, seeing the apartment Lin Wan bought for Little Star. It was indeed nice. She had considered buying one here herself but mostly stayed in China, so it seemed unnecessary and troublesome.

"Bringing all this at once, isn’t mom worried they’ll expire? How long will it take me to finish eating," Little Star laughed, pulling out her favorite, tearing it open, and taking a bite. Meanwhile, she quickly started making coffee for Wang Leqin and preparing dinner.

"Your mom mentioned she also sent you the things you asked for last time. I couldn’t carry everything myself. They should arrive in a few days," Wang Leqin reminded her.

"Okay, I’ll pick them up then. Aunt Wang, how is Uncle Yang, and Xiao Zhi at home?"

"Your uncle is doing well, but Xiao Zhi is a handful. His studies weren’t going well, couldn’t get into a good university, so your Uncle Yang put him on the team, trained him intensively for a month, and he was exhausted. Now he’s settled down and says he wants to study hard and try for a military academy from the team."

Little Star laughed, "Isn’t this good? Xiao Zhi is just too outgoing. My mom says he’s like Aunt Wang."

"Exactly! When I was in school, I didn’t do well, had a slow brain. Sigh, I picked up all the bad traits, unlike your Uncle Yang’s good ones."

Little Star helped Wang Leqin make a cup of coffee, busy in the kitchen preparing a meal. "Aunt Wang, Xiao Zhi is smart, you just haven’t noticed. When he’s with us, he always has the best ideas and gets things done reliably."

"I guess I’ve spoiled him too much. Only your Uncle Yang can manage that boy."

Little Star chatted a lot with Wang Leqin about family matters. After eating with Little Star, the assistant came over.

After sending off Wang Leqin, Little Star happily sorted the snacks, specially taking out a few packs as she went out the door.

This was the second time visiting You Jingyi’s home.

You Jingyi had just seen her relative leave, and didn’t expect her to come over at this time.

"...Uh, I didn’t know what you like, so I picked a few packs. These are snacks from back our place. I have a lot, so I’m giving you some."

You Jingyi doesn’t usually eat snacks, but seeing she specially thought of him and brought over a few packs first thing, he was quite happy, "Thanks. Snacks from home, really nostalgic."

"Exactly! I used to love these when I was home. This time my mom specially got me a big box." Little Star smiled and then said, "I didn’t lock my door, I better head back."

Little Star was startled by his sudden words, her heart skipped a beat. She nodded, went silent, and turned to leave.

You Jingyi’s intentions grew increasingly apparent, leaving Little Star at a loss.

However, during class these days, her mind would often wander, unexpectedly recalling his occasional heart-racing words, and every time she thought of them, she’d blush.

Since that day, You Jingyi went back to tutoring Little Star daily, and in the evenings, she continued making him lots of delicious food.

Moreover, she generously handed him many snacks to take home, which he didn’t particularly enjoy. But after several tries, he discovered quite a few tasty ones. However, he didn’t hide them well; each time he’d find them eaten by Shang Ou.

You Jingyi felt particularly sympathetic, knowing Little Star’s family made efforts to get her snacks, only for him to ’ruin’ them. He decided that next time Little Star offered snacks, he would resolutely refuse, ensuring Shang Ou won’t eat them. Better let her enjoy them herself.

Wang Leqin came to stay with Little Star for a few days after an event, taking the opportunity to have some fun.

During the event, Wang Leqin took a liking to an outfit, deciding it would look amazing on Little Star, so she left a set for her directly.

With the event ending perfectly on a Sunday, she took Little Star out for two days.

Upon returning that day, they happened to run into You Jingyi and Shang Ou, exchanged nods, and each headed home.

Once inside, Shang Ou surprisingly pulled You Jingyi close, "Jingyi, did you see that? Xing Yue was wearing that brand-name outfit! It was just showcased at a fashion show recently. It’s very expensive."

"The day of the exhibition, I went with... ahem, my current girlfriend. She really liked it, insisted I buy her a set."

"Did you break up with her again?"
