Chapter 1202: Chapter 914: Little Star Side Story (6)
"Maybe she’s already been hurt and broken up, or loved too deeply and can’t forget. That would be troublesome."
Shang Ou’s analysis made You Jingyi frown. He was unclear about Han Xingyue’s past and didn’t know if she’d had a boyfriend before or been hurt.
If that’s the case, it doesn’t matter. Since he likes her, he won’t let her get hurt again.
"Hey, just listen to me today. While you’re giving her the gift, confess first and see how she reacts, if she might have feelings for you."
You Jingyi heard that, hesitated over the suggestion to confess, as if confessing was an easy thing.
"I’ll observe first."
Shang Ou got anxious when he heard that. "What is there to observe? If you like her, confess! Don’t procrastinate. Tonight, I’m staying at your place. When she gets back tonight, I’ll go find her. Oh, right, let’s buy a bouquet first."
You Jingyi listened to him and said coldly, "Go back to your home. You’re not staying at mine."
"Hey, what are you shy about? I often confess to girls with you present."
"Go back to your home." Anyway, Shang Ou made him feel awkward.
In the end, Shang Ou couldn’t stay as he wished, but You Jingyi did listen and bought a big bouquet of flowers. When he got home and saw Xingxing hadn’t returned yet, he was relieved in his room.
Feeling inexplicably nervous, he sat in the room with no clear thoughts, occasionally glancing at the window, waiting to see when she’d pass by his door.
Little Star spent the afternoon shopping, feeling too tired to move with two blisters on her feet. She didn’t buy much, except for a dress that Lisa and Xiuyan insisted looked great on her.
Actually, she thought the dress was a bit too sexy. The outer layer was white with embellishments, and underneath was a satin slip. The front was okay, but the back exposed too much, making regular bras unsuitable, needing invisible ones instead.
She definitely wouldn’t wear it to school, but maybe for an event. So she bought it.
Besides the dress, she bought a trendy lipstick, which looked nice.
After shopping all afternoon, she only bought these two things, spending the rest of the time shopping with the other two.
Little Star rested for a while, tried on the lipstick, then tried on the dress.
Just as she finished dressing, the doorbell rang.
Outside, You Jingyi, seeing her return, after much consideration, seeing the evening coming, gathered his courage to come.
He knew her door had a peephole, so he put both hands behind his back.
Little Star thought he came to tutor her. She quickly opened the door to tell him no tutoring today, but You Jingyi took out a bouquet from behind, smiling gentlemanly, saying, "Happy Birthday!"
Seeing her outfit startled You Jingyi. In that moment, he hid his surprise well, not daring to be too abrupt.
Little Star was surprised, awkwardly accepting it, smiling, "Thank you. It’s so thoughtful of you."
"It’s only once a year, I can’t be casual. Although it’s late, if I’d known earlier, I would have prepared something better. Didn’t know what flowers you liked, so I just chose—sweet scent. You can put them in a vase." You Jingyi’s eyes smiled, closely observing her reaction.
Little Star smiled, lowered her head to smell the flowers, "I really like them, thank you."
You Jingyi heard her words, pleased, smiled, said a few more words, then left. He didn’t talk about liking her.
Little Star returned to her room, smelled the flowers again, agreeing with You Jingyi’s comment, grabbed a vase in the living room to arrange them. But as she unwrapped them, a delicate box fell out.
Little Star picked it up, surprised to find a bracelet.
She immediately understood; this was the real birthday gift from You Jingyi. Looking at this exquisite bracelet made Little Star’s heart race.
How could she not grasp You Jingyi’s intention?
Little Star lay in bed for a long time holding the bracelet, her mind a tumultuous mess, tossing and turning unable to sleep.
She exhaled, ran to the living room, and called Hanhan.
At this hour, it should be afternoon. Yaoyao answered, busy, "What’s up? You’re calling in the middle of the night. I’m busy."
"Hanhan, don’t hang up. I need to ask you something."
"Quickly, what’s the matter."
"A boy seems to want to pursue me."
Hanhan, busy, momentarily paused hearing Little Star, then resumed, "Haven’t you had enough being pursued these years? Aren’t you immune?"
"Uh... I should be immune, but don’t know why. Seeing him looking at me like that makes my heart flutter nervously."
Hanhan rolled her eyes, "Fluttering heart means you like him too?"
"Oh... no way, we haven’t interacted so much; I don’t know him well." Just thought he was nice, quite gentlemanly, his gaze sincere.
"Liking someone doesn’t depend on knowing them long." You must like him. Well, I’m busy; talk later, I’ll analyze for you." Indeed busy, she didn’t attend to Little Star.
Little Star, not being enlightened, felt her mind chaotic from Hanhan’s comments—liking him?
Little Star frowned, tossed and turned again in bed.
