Chapter 1195: Chapter 911: Little Star Extra (4)

"You guys sit first, I just made some fried chicken, the other dishes aren’t cooked yet," Little Star said, then quickly asked, "Do you want steamed rice or porridge?"

"Porridge," the two said in unison.

Little Star smiled, washed the pot on her side, and quickly started cooking.

"Anything I can help with?" Shang Ou’s eyes were fixated on the fried chicken made by Little Star, while You Jingyi said to Little Star,

"No need, I can manage myself," Little Star said with a smile, handing the fried chicken over to them. "You guys start eating, I’ll be done soon."

Shang Ou had been eyeing the fried chicken for a while, and when Little Star handed it over, he took it with a laugh, saying, "Thanks, Xing Yue, we won’t hold back then."

"Mm, really good, better than the fried chicken outside," Shang Ou said while eating with big bites.

You Jingyi also took a piece without hesitation. Tasting it, he couldn’t stop nodding in approval.

Seeing their mouths stuffed full, Little Star couldn’t help but giggle. You Jingyi, unlike Shang Ou who was just focused on eating, noticed Little Star didn’t keep much for herself. He quickly tore off a chicken leg and handed it to her, saying, "You eat too, sorry if we made a spectacle of ourselves, we really miss the food from home."

Little Star was in the middle of stir-frying a dish. Seeing the chicken leg handed over by You Jingyi, she accepted it with a smile, taking a bite. She missed it too, actually.

You Jingyi and Shang Ou sat at the bar across from her, watching as she skillfully cooked each dish. They managed to control themselves, at least leaving some fried chicken for Little Star.

"I’m not very skilled, as long as you don’t find it unpleasant," Little Star said. In truth, she didn’t have a lot of ingredients today, but luckily there were some extra vegetables from yesterday. She noticed these two have quite an appetite and wondered if there would be enough to eat.

"Your cooking is amazing, saying it’s not good is such a modesty. We’re studying abroad here, eating burgers and potatoes every day has become such a bore. Initially, it was fun, but over time it’s hard to swallow. Now we can enjoy food from back home," Shang Ou said, perhaps drooling for a good twenty minutes, and when it was time to eat, he couldn’t hold back, shoveling a big mouthful to sate his watering mouth.

Saying this, Shang Ou glanced at You Jingyi, "Jingyi, it’s a shame you didn’t realize your neighbor had such great culinary skills."

You Jingyi slowly sipped his porridge, pulling up a smile without replying to Shang Ou’s words. In fact, he had noticed this neighbor girl for some time. That day, as he passed by her door, he smelled an incredible aroma, guessing that someone from the same country lived there since then. He would often smell the aroma of food wafting from her place and started getting curious about who lived there.

Once, as he was heading out, he saw someone coming out from next door too, a very neat and pretty girl.

This was Little Star’s first impression on You Jingyi.

This meal, they weren’t full, even though there were several dishes, none of them were in large quantity. The key was they tasted so good, comparable even to their moms’ at home, they hadn’t had enough but felt too polite to say anything more, resorting to saying they were full.

"Xing Yue, if you have time next time, could you make it again? Don’t worry, we’ll bring our own ingredients," Shang Ou suggested as they left.

Little Star paused but agreed, saying maybe next week.

Just this answer made You Jingyi and Shang Ou very happy; in just a few days, they would get to enjoy delicious food again.

"Jingyi, Han Xingyue is really skilled, and she’s also beautiful. Such a woman is hard to find, it’d be a waste not to marry her. No wonder you’ve taken notice of her, given your picky nature towards women," Shang Ou teased.

"No, I just happened to put my arm on her shoulder," You Jingyi frowned, correcting him.

Shang Ou couldn’t care less and continued, "Whether an arm around or just on the shoulder, I see you’re different around her. This girl is nice—hey, don’t blame your good buddy for not reminding you—seize the moment and make a move. Well... if you really aren’t interested, just let me know, I..."

Before Shang Ou could finish, You Jingyi felt a tinge of jealousy from nowhere, blurting out, "We’re full, hurry up and get back to work."

Shang Ou wasn’t offended, knowing that usually, such a response meant You Jingyi had an idea in mind.
