Chapter 1196: Chapter 911: Little Star Side Story (4)_2

Little Star was busy with her schoolwork. The teacher spoke a bit fast, and she found it somewhat challenging. Every time after class, she had to review by herself for a long time before she could digest everything.

When she came back from school that day, it started raining outside. Little Star bought some snacks from a convenience store to get through the night so she wouldn’t have to cook dinner.

This was how it had been for the past few days. Eating unhealthy stuff all day, she finally finished reviewing what the teacher taught that day by around eight or nine at night. Little Star felt dizzy and, touching her burning head, realized she was sick.

Little Star had no choice but to head to a nearby clinic on her own with an umbrella. She got some medication and came back. It wasn’t serious; she just needed to drink more water.

On the way back, Little Star bumped into You Jingyi who had just returned home. They greeted each other and were about to head to their respective homes when Little Star coughed a few times. You Jingyi took a closer look and noticed something was wrong with her.

He asked with concern, "Are you sick?"

Little Star didn’t hide the fact and responded with a simple "Just a slight cold." After saying that, she turned around to leave. Perhaps it was because of the fever, the rain outside, and the cool breeze that made her feel dizzy. Her legs buckled, and she almost fell. Luckily, You Jingyi quickly supported her, "You seem pretty serious."

"Ah... it’s nothing, really. Just a slight fever. The doctor prescribed some medication. I’ll take it and rest for the night, and I’ll be fine."

Little Star hurried to explain; she felt really uncomfortable and just wanted to get home and lie down.

You Jingyi’s eyes flickered as he looked at her bewildered state. Feeling a bit uneasy, he said, "I’ll help you get home."

"I don’t need..."

"Let’s go." You Jingyi supported her towards her house, not taking no for an answer.

Little Star was so weak she was practically being pushed through her front door by him.

After they went inside, You Jingyi had Little Star lie on the sofa and then went to boil some water. When it was cool enough, he walked back to Little Star’s side, only to find her already asleep.

You Jingyi called out her name a couple of times but couldn’t wake her. Seeing her in such a daze, You Jingyi shook his head and thought to himself that this girl really trusted him.

Being so unguarded could easily lead to trouble, but fortunately for her, it was him here today.

You Jingyi felt her burning head and forcibly sat her up. "Xingxing, Xingxing, take your medicine quickly. You need to take it to get better."

Little Star felt someone holding her and a man’s voice telling her what to do near her ear. Mistaking him for her father, she obediently took the medicine.

You Jingyi watched her take the medicine in a daze and finally breathed a sigh of relief. He wanted to give her more water, but it was impossible as Little Star fell back asleep after taking the medicine.

He couldn’t rest easy leaving her there; it was still raining outside, and he was worried she’d catch a cold sleeping on the sofa. So, he picked her up and moved her to her room.

When You Jingyi picked Little Star up, he found her surprisingly light. He guessed she only weighed around eighty pounds, despite being about 1.7 meters tall.

He didn’t know which room was Little Star’s bedroom; after opening two doors, he finally found it. As he laid her down, he accidentally touched somewhere soft and reflexively looked down, causing his face to flush from ear to ear.

He wanted to say it was unintentional, but he couldn’t bring himself to lift his head due to embarrassment, thinking how light she was to carry but still noticing her figure.

You Jingyi dared not look any further. Feeling like a criminal, he hurriedly covered her with a blanket and left.

Once outside, he worried again. She was still running a fever, and he didn’t know if the medicine was effective.

After much consideration, You Jingyi decided to stay a little longer.

Since he had just returned from outside, the food he brought had gotten cold. So he sat in Little Star’s living room, eating cold food and curiously browsing her study materials.

He noticed some areas with particularly heavy notes and indentations, plus many marks on scrap paper, suggesting she was facing difficult problems.

Checking his watch and seeing that he had time, he picked up a pen and started analyzing the problems for her on a sheet of paper.

By the time it was around eleven o’clock, the rain outside had stopped at some point. You Jingyi hesitated outside Little Star’s bedroom for a moment before calming his emotions and pushing the door open.

He quietly walked to the window and touched her forehead, noticing she was sweating—an indication that her fever had broken. To prevent her from feeling too hot, he adjusted the blanket to make her more comfortable.

Upon leaving, You Jingyi appeared calm from the outside, but inside he was still burning up, his ears red from fever.

He gently closed her front door and stood outside, taking a deep breath. The fresh, cool air post-rain made him feel considerably better.

Once home, the first thing he did was take a shower to wash away the heat. In all his twenty-plus years, it was the first time his heart had raced so fast.

It seemed he really was experiencing spring fever...

Little Star awoke the next day, lazily stretching and finding the weather pleasant. She got up quickly to wash up. Once out of bed, she realized she was actually in her bed.

She remembered meeting You Jingyi at the door yesterday, and he seemed to have brought her back. After that, she had fallen into a haze, and she didn’t remember the rest.

Little Star thought about You Jingyi spending the night at her place, and she looked around her bedroom, checking the bed. Finding everything fine, she looked at her clothes and sighed in relief.

It seemed she was overthinking it. From her interactions with You Jingyi, he seemed to be a good person, not one to take advantage of others.

After washing up, she went to the living room, ready to take her medicine before heading to school. As she took her medicine, she noticed neatly written notes analyzing the problems she had worked on the previous day. Upon seeing the last line, Little Star blushed for the first time in twenty years.

If you don’t understand anything, you can come to me. Remember to eat something in the morning before taking medicine. Take good care of yourself.

Little Star found it rather ambiguous no matter how she looked at it.
