Chapter 1194: Chapter 910: Little Star Extra (3)_2
"Ah... Isn’t that a bit too aggressive? You didn’t clarify the situation. That woman might just be his sister or an old family friend."
"Sister, friend, whatever. I know that woman, she’s just the daughter of a leader in our team. Hmph, he’s just trying to play both sides and secure his future."
Little Star laughed when she heard that and teased, "Oh, does that woman’s leader have a higher position than Uncle Lu?"
You could hear Hanhan snorting on the other end, "No way, not even close. I was just being low-key, that guy will regret it."
Little Star chuckled on her end, knowing that Yaoyao was probably rolling her eyes over there.
Hanhan, on her end, wasn’t at all upset about the romance that had just ended. Instead, she joked with her, "Xingxing, I heard there are a lot of handsome guys at those schools abroad, the kind with white skin and blonde hair. So, be honest, are you dating one?"
"Too frivolous, not my type. Language barrier and the different customs of the country. I’m still quite conservative, rest assured, if I do get into a relationship, it will definitely be with a Chinese person."
"Then hurry up and start dating! University is the best time. If you’re not dating, what are you doing, dating the air? I really regret it now, what’s the point of military training branches, four whole years of either training or inspection, all with the same makeup look. Outsiders find it novel, but they don’t know how sick we are of it. I just love the type of guy who wears a jacket, jeans, sunglasses, and carries a backpack. That’s the kind of man who fits my image of Prince Charming. It’s pitiful, but I stay in the team all the time and never get to meet such men. Sigh..." Hanhan sighed regrettably.
Little Star laughed, already knowing she’d be like this. Saying she wanted to find a fashionable guy like that, but actually still preferring the type who wears green military, willing to put on the act, or she wouldn’t have listened to her parents back then.
Little Star was about to tease her some more when the doorbell rang. She glanced over and said into the phone, "Hanhan, I have to go, someone’s at the door."
"Let them knock, I’m not worried about the phone bill, go open it, I’ll wait for you." Hanhan finally had some free time and hadn’t had the chance to chat much with Little Star.
"Oh, alright, hang on."
Little Star said quickly, flipped the chicken in the pan, and went to peek through the peephole.
Seeing You Jingyi and another guy outside, Little Star was surprised, but after a pause, she opened the door a crack and poked her head out, "Hello, do you need something from me?"
You Jingyi smiled awkwardly at Little Star but didn’t speak. Shang Ou squeezed past You Jingyi and said to Little Star, "Classmate, I smelled something really nice when I passed by your place. Are you cooking Chinese food?"
Little Star blinked in surprise, eyeing this classmate who spoke to her, wearing a black jacket, trendy jeans, sunglasses perched atop his head, and a backpack slung over his shoulder. Such a man... Little Star instinctively glanced toward the phone inside.
Turning back, she accidentally met You Jingyi’s apologetic gaze. "Sorry, this is my buddy, Shang Ou. We’ve been here for a few years now, and we hardly get to eat our home dishes. We typically don’t cook, so he’s very sensitive to our flavors."
They originally had a side job to do, involving a small program, and planned to do it at his place. But not long after arriving here, Shang Ou caught a particularly fragrant scent and, realizing it was the neighbor girl he had mentioned before, became curious.
As soon as You Jingyi finished explaining, Shang Ou chimed in with a smile, "Yes, yes, miss, we’re practically from the same place. As they say, it’s a great joy when friends visit from afar."
Shang Ou’s words made Little Star burst into laughter and she immediately opened the door for them, saying, "Come on in first."
You Jingyi and Shang Ou were a bit awkward about visiting a girl’s place suddenly, but upon seeing Little Star’s house decoration, they felt inexplicably warm, particularly comfy and cozy.
"Have a seat first, there’s some cool boiled water on the table. Make yourselves at home, I still have something on the stove, I’ll go check it."
You Jingyi and Shang Ou responded with a smile, and after catching a whiff from the kitchen, they couldn’t help but swallow.
"Who is it? Taking so long, it’s not a thief, is it?" Yaoyao complained anxiously over the phone.
Little Star chuckled, picked up the phone, and said, "Two neighbor compatriots, uh... one of them is your Prince Charming, you know."
Hanhan didn’t get it at first, but a second later she exclaimed and laughed, "It couldn’t be such a coincidence, could it? How is he, looks?"
Little Star giggled and, while flipping things in the pan, said, "Quite handsome, how about I ask for you?"
"Psh, forget it, too far away from the emperor. Talking on the phone all the time, are we going to date over the phone? Forget it, enjoy yourself. I’m getting busy now." Knowing she had guests, she tactfully hung up.
"Alright, alright, I’ll hang up now."
You Jingyi and Shang Ou couldn’t stay seated from the delicious aroma and instinctively looked toward the kitchen, which had an open layout. They saw all the ingredients laid out.
Seeing Little Star chatting on the phone, they didn’t mind speaking loudly, but once she hung up, Shang Ou smiled and said, "Classmate, I still don’t know your name."
Little Star turned her head and smiled at them, "Han Xingyue, English name Miki."
"You Jingyi, Karl, Shang Ou, Ai Wen."
