Little Star understood and nodded, looking around his room. It was very clean and spotless, but not cozy. Boys’ rooms seem to always be like this. The only difference was that it wasn’t as messy as Xiao Wu’s room and didn’t have Dingding’s room’s military-style neatness.

"He’ll probably leave soon. Have a seat, would you like coffee or a drink?" You Jingyi generously invited her in.

Little Star felt somewhat reserved but still replied, "Coffee."

You Jingyi skillfully made a cup of coffee for Little Star and also made one for himself. The two sat in the quiet living room, where even a needle dropping could be heard apart from the clinking of porcelain. For a moment, they felt quite contemplative.

After finishing her coffee, Little Star wanted to head back. You Jingyi also noticed her discomfort. Truth be told, being with a stranger makes him uneasy too.

You Jingyi was the first to get up and went to the window to check outside. He saw that Wang Ling’ai had already gotten into her friend’s car and left.

"She’s gone now; I’m really sorry about what happened today. I didn’t expect she’d target you."

"It’s just typical woman behavior. If you really don’t like her, you should just tell her directly."

You Jingyi gave a helpless smile, "I’ve said it countless times, all kinds of harsh words. But she just does her own thing and never considers other people’s feelings, only chasing what she wants."

Little Star paused; it was indeed the first time she had met someone like that. People like her tend to keep going stubbornly until they hit a wall. During these school years, seeing classmates fall in and out of love without paying much attention to the end of their relationships, she never actively asks about these things.

"Let me walk you home." You Jingyi noticed she wasn’t talking and smiled faintly.

"No need, it’s just a few steps away." Her home was right out the door; there was no need to walk her.

However, You Jingyi still walked her to the door, stopping halfway between their houses to watch her go inside before returning himself.

After Grandma Li and Xiao Wu left, Little Star got busy again, commuting to school and spending an hour teaching painting at the nursery every Thursday and Friday. Her school had classes in the morning, and the classes here were in the afternoon, so it didn’t interfere. After teaching for over an hour, she still had plenty of free time.

When she wasn’t painting, she would chase some shows or indulge herself by making some Chinese food.

After school this day, she purposely went to the market to buy groceries, along with a chicken. It had been a long time since she tasted Grandma’s fried chicken and she missed it so much.

Little Star wasn’t sure about the cooking process, so after getting home, she specifically called Grandma to ask about the fried chicken recipe. Hearing her granddaughter was craving her fried chicken, Liang Hongmei felt incredibly moved and couldn’t help asking about her granddaughter’s situation there while explaining the recipe. Little Star reassured Liang Hongmei that, besides dealing with some random admirers at school, she was doing quite well. After hanging up with Liang Hongmei, Little Star followed Grandma’s instructions to make fried chicken and called Hanhan, who was now in the military technology department, having worked there for three years.

Last month Yaoyao told her someone was pursuing her.

So, Little Star wanted to inquire about what was going on.

"Hah, I am not that blind, I’m not like those girls who go crazy over romance," Hanhan replied immediately when asked.

"What happened? Weren’t you interested in him?"

"At first, I thought he was okay. But let me tell you, he acts differently in front of people and behind their backs. He’s been after me for so long, I was honestly touched and thought if he approached me again, I’d agree to date him. But one day, as fate would have it, I accidentally saw him with another girl, laughing and being extra close.
