Lin Xingxue and Chen Tianyu exchanged a glance before they quickly walked toward her. Lin Xingxue reached out and held Shen Qingyin in her arms just as she was about to fall to the floor.

Then she frowned a little when she checked Shen Qingyi’s condition, and found out that she was already at her limit, though she was still forcing herself. She lowered her head and looked toward Shen Qingyi, who already had a basic understanding for her condition right now. Shen Qingyi let out a weak and gentle smile, as if trying to comfort Lin Xingxue in such a way.

That attitude made Lin Xingxue even more upset, as she cared so little about her own body. Without another word, she quickly began to transport her magical energy to Shen Qingyi’s body as she activated her Hunter ability—regeneration.

In the meantime, Chen Tianyu would be facing the monster by himself, trying to buy them some time. Seeing that the monster had already stood back up on its feet and had planned for another round of attack, he slowly closed his eyes as he raised a hand in front of him.

As white light glowed at his fingertips, a complicated pattern began to emerge on the ground a few meters in front of him. Within seconds, the sound of some beautiful creature rose as a summoning beast appeared from the formation—it was his second summoning beast, the Wind Spirit Butterfly.

"Tiiiing~~~"

"Xiao Ling," Chen Tianyu suddenly called out the Wind Spirit Butterfly’s name, and it quickly circled around him. He gently stroked its wings, and just as he planned to order Xiao Ling to attack, the summoning formation that had supposed to disappear after Xiao Ling had appeared in this world suddenly erupted with a much brighter light.

"This is...?"

The light was so bright that Chen Tianyu and the others instinctively closed their eyes. The second Chen Tianyu opened his eyes again, he was surprised to find out that it was Jing Xuan (Chen Tianyu’s first summoning beast) who chose to come out from his Summoning Space.

"Jing Xuan... why are you—"

Before Chen Tianyu could even finish asking the sentence, Jing Xuan’s sight was immediately fixed on the B-Rank monster that had rushed toward Chen Tianyu. He ignored his summoner as a beam of light began to form in his mouth.

In the next second, the beam of light shot toward the monster, which caused it to tumble across the ground, bringing up dust to fly around the air.

Chen Tianyu wanted to act as if he was deeply moved by Jing Xuan’s rescue, though he wasn’t able to successfully persuade himself because that look in Jing Xuan’s eyes was way too familiar. It was the sight that told him that it was up for a fight, and saving him was just something that it had done along the way.

But no matter what the reason is, from a certain perspective, this does mean that it isn’t completely indifferent toward me... Chen Tianyu thought, and he let out a bitter smile.

While Chen Tianyu was still lost in his own thoughts, the battle between Jing Xuan and the B-Rank monster had already begun.

BOOM!

Not long after, the monster had been slammed into the ground just as Jing Xuan slowly walked toward it.

The monster let out a terrifying roar as countless specks of light formed behind it and were struck straight toward Jing Xuan at lightning speed.

Jing Xuan, however, only gave it a glance and didn’t even bother to dodge the attack. The attack did not hit, as it was blocked by a protective barrier formed in front of the sub-dragon.

Then suddenly, his massive dragon wings opened as he soared into the air, staring the monster with a mocking gaze, though in the next second, there seemed to be no trace of emotion within those pupils.

The monster was totally enraged after it noticed that it couldn’t find its target. Then its sight suddenly fixed at Chen Tianyu, wanting to attack him when Jing Xuan let out a roar, causing an invisible force to suddenly appear above the monster.

In the next second, the B-Rank monster was forcibly pinned down mid-air, its limbs slamming hard onto the ground. That pressure had even caused several cracks on the ground.

"This is so—" Chen Tianyu’s pupils shrank, as he wasn’t able to explain the scene right in front of him correctly.

Although he had known for a very long time that Jing Xuan was very strong, he had never actually seen it get into a serious fight before. Now that he witnessed that a B-Rank monster was completely no match for it, he seemed totally shocked by it.

So, this is a sub-dragon? Truly formidable.

This was literally the first time he saw Jing Xuan unleash such a terrifying level of power (as those enemies from before were too weak for it to even be interested in the fight). It was also only at this moment that Chen Tianyu actually understood the meaning behind the envy he had occasionally seen in the eyes of the Hunters he knew in the past.

It was basically their hope to be able to summon such a powerful summoned beast... that could even change the rest of their life.

If they, too, could possess a contracted beast like Jing Xuan, they would most likely have an overwhelming advantage when they faced monsters that were at the same rank, or even higher than that.

However, the possibility of being able to awaken the Hunter ability of summoning was already one in ten thousand. And to summon a creature that possessed even a light trace of dragon bloodline, that would require both luck and talent.

As for Jing Xuan, it could certainly be counted as one of the best summoning beasts for Hunters. However, the amazement on Chen Tianyu’s face slowly froze as it felt Jing Xuan’s feeling through the contract, which his expression started to become a bit strange as he realized that Jing Xuan wasn’t totally unprepared to end the fight.

On the contrary, it even seemed to be a bit excited about what’s gonna happen next...

"Wait a minute..." Chen Tianyu muttered as he suddenly felt a sense of foreboding and couldn’t help but look toward Jing Xuan.

"You aren’t thinking of keeping this up, are you?" he slowly asked, his voice sounding a bit hopeless, as if he had already known the answer to that question.

Jing Xuan slowly turned his head, its sight fixed on Chen Tianyu, putting pressure on him when it was totally silent. Then, Chen Tianyu somehow felt an instability between their contract, which tells him the answer already.

Chen Tianyu: "..."

"I knew that would be the case," he said as he rested a hand on his forehead, feeling totally helpless. Jing Xuan had not come to rescue him at all; he had simply sensed the battle outside and was itching for a fight. However, seeing that it had helped him deal with such a large trouble, at last he only waved his hand toward him and said, "Since you’re so eager to have a fight, then it’s all yours."

Before he even finished the sentence, Jing Xuan had already disappeared in place. Chen Tianyu hadn’t even realized it when the ground beneath him began to tremble, with dust and stones falling down from the ceilings of the dungeon, causing him to almost fall to the ground.

"What in the world is happening?!"

Then he turned his head and realized that Jing Xuan had already disappeared in sight, with the corners of his mouth twitching involuntarily. "Is it really needed to make such a loud noise?" he asked helplessly.

Still, thanks to Jing Xuan, Shen Qingyi and Shen Qingci were pretty okay while Lin Xingxue was near the end of her healing process for them.

"Xiao Ling," Chen Tianyu suddenly called out, and then the Wind Spirit Butterfly fluttered lightly beside him.

Chen Tianyu reached his hand out, and allowed the tiny creature to land onto his fingertip. "Let’s go see how Qingyi and Qingci are right now."

A/N: Summoned beasts could choose to turn small when its summoner doesn’t have enough magical energy to support it.

"Tiiiing~~~"

Lin Xingxue wiped the sweat from her forehead and lowered her hand. Noticing that Chen Tianyu was back, she randomly asked, "How was the monster? Eliminate it?"

Chen Tianyu gently nodded his head as he replied, "All thanks to Jing Xuan."

Hearing this, Lin Xingxue let out a long breath before staring at the darkness, her voice filled with concern. "Now that we have found Qingyi and Qingci, we’re just not sure where the captain and the others are right now."

——

As for Jiang Zihan and Mo Shiyan, they are currently being chased by the other team.

"We’re unable to shake them off. What should we do now?" Jiang Zihan asked as he took a look at the person chasing after them the closest.
