Chapter 80: Brother, Wait for Me!

After a moment, she raised her eyes and looked straight at her brother. "Brother, I will take care of it myself," she said. A light of determination flickered through her eyes.

Shen Qingci’s eyes widened as his voice rose. "Qingyi, are you crazy?! That’s a B-Rank monster! You’re no match for it!"

"I know," Shen Qingyi replied, though she was also not willing to back down. She stood back up on her feet and wiped the tears from her face. He turned her head and looked forward, her sight fixed on the monster that was searching for them not far away.

"The reason I’m not letting you go is that I’m no match for it," she continued.

"Qingyi..." Shen Qingci muttered, his tone sounding panicked.

"Brother, you have already been injured protecting me," Shen Qingyi glanced down at the wound on Shen Qingci’s chest, a sign of pain flickering through her eyes. "I don’t want you to risk any danger because of me anymore!" she said, her voice sounding trembling.

After saying so, she wanted to leave when Shen Qingci grabbed onto her wrist. "Come back!" he commanded.

Shen Qingyi turned around and let out a soft smile while a drop of tears slipped down her cheek. "Brother, wait for me."

Shen Qingci’s expression changed immediately. He struggled to stand up on his feet, but due to the severity of his injuries, he staggered and fell to his knees right after he tried.

Shen Qingyi lowered her head, staring at the Teleportation Talisman for a moment before carefully placing it inside her pocket. Then she materialized the whip in her hand and charged straight toward the monster, which was arrogantly searching for them through the dungeon.

"Roar—!!"

The moment the monster sensed Shen Qingyi’s presence, it let out a terrifying roar before charging toward her. Shen Qingyi used some force on her legs and leapt backward as she struck the long whip straight at it. The tip of the whip went forward at lightning speed and wrapped around one of the monster’s forelimbs.

Shen Qingyi twisted her wrist and suddenly pulled forward, causing the monster to be pulled over to the side by her. Her gaze turned sharp as she allowed her magical energy to run throughout her body and surrounded the whip with a soft blue glow. In the next second, she threw the monster to the side, causing it to hit hard to the wall.

The monster quickly reacted as its eyes turned red from anger. It shook its body before charging straight toward her again with a loud roar. Shen Qingyi had no time to think of what she should do next, and could only jump over to the side to dodge its attack based on her instincts.

BOOM!

The monster’s razor-sharp claw grazed her body as it slammed down, instantly shattering the ground beneath it.

Shen Qingyi’s heart sank when she saw that. Its speed was faster than she expected.

If that hit landed on her, she totally believed that she would be torn in half almost instantly. That B-Rank monster seemed to be even stronger than she previously thought.

After missing its target, the monster immediately turned around—its speed completely disproportionate to its massive size. Then its thick tail swept straight toward Shen Qingyi. She didn’t have enough time to react and was hit hard to the ground.

Fortunately, at the very last second, she formed a protective barrier right in front of her. Although the barrier shattered almost immediately, it did help to weaken the monster’s attack.

Shen Qingyi crashed heavily to the ground, tumbled across the floor a few times before hitting her back against the wall.

"Cough— cough, cough—"

She coughed violently, one of her hands covering the bottom half of his face, as she coughed out a mouthful of blood. At the same time, blood rolled down the corner of her mouth as her head lowered, making one unsure of her current condition.

"Qingyi!" Shen Qingci couldn’t help but call out her name when he saw the scene in front of him. He struggled to stand up, but the moment he moved, he felt a searing pain coming from the wound in his chest.

"Hiss—"

Hearing his voice, Shen Qingyi immediately turned her head and glanced back. "Brother, don’t move!" she yelled out.

"But you..."

"I’m fine," Shen Qingyi comforted him as she raised her hand and randomly wiped away the blood at the corner of her mouth.

The next moment, Shen Qingyi’s whip struck out and coiled around a stone pillar nearby. She twisted her wrist and used the whip’s tension to pull himself into the air, causing the monster’s attack toward her to miss.

Shen Qingyi soared over its head, spinning around in mid-air, and her whip struck out again. The tip of the whip wrapped around the monster’s hind leg, as she caught this opportunity to let the whip pull her forward. She gathered her magical energy toward her left leg and let out a strong roundhouse kick toward the monster’s face, kicking it to the side.

Just as she wanted to do another attack, the monster suddenly changed its target and charged straight toward Shen Qingci.

Shen Qingyi: "!!!"

"Brother!" she shouted as she tightened her grip on the whip, trying to pull it back. But how could her strength be compared to the monster’s power?

She could only drain all the magical energy she had, trying her best to stop its movement, though it was barely useful.

Just as the monster’s sharp claws were about to strike Shen Qingci, a beam of light suddenly hit the monster’s back; the impact caused it to stumble a few steps backward.

Seeing that her brother was okay, Shen Qingyi let out a sigh of relief before turning her head to see what happened, then was surprised to realize that it was Lin Xingxue and Chen Tianyu walking forward.

She let out a gentle smile and quickly waved her hands at them, "Xingxue, Tianyu, over here!"
