Reborn as the Top Omega Hunter: My Alpha Hears My Inner Thoughts [BL]
Chapter 48: Willing to Persuade It
The sub-dragon let out a terrifying roar as it suddenly broke the threads that wrapped around its body. The strong impact even caused Jiang Zihan to step backward a little, and Mo Shiyan quickly held him from behind.
The sub-dragon’s eyes looked around and then fixed his gaze on Jiang Zihan. Its wings suddenly glowed brightly, and in the next moment, countless pale-pink specks of light flew out of it, all shooting toward Jiang Zihan.
Mo Shiyan frowned as he wrapped a hand around Jiang Zihan’s waist, carrying him away from that place. The two of them landed a few meters away, and Mo Shiyan suddenly materialized the Celestial Bow in his hand, targeting multiple arrows toward Jing Xuan.
Arrows streaked toward Jing Xuan, but before it was able to cause any damage, it was already reflected by the silvery-white scales, then clattering to the ground as the sharp metallic sound echoed in Mo Shiyan’s ears.
Mo Shiyan raised an eyebrow and glanced toward Jiang Zihan. He immediately understood what Mo Shiyan meant, and quickly nodded his head before he stepped back a little.
Then he bent down and pressed a hand on the floor as magical energy all gathered toward his right hand. In the next moment, a light purple complicated pattern emerged beneath his feet as several chains of starlight shot toward the sub-dragon and coiled tightly around its body, pinning it in place.
"ROAR—"
The sub-dragon roared as it struggled, but was still unable to break through the chains.
"Nicely done! Keep it pinned, and leave the rest to me!" Lin Xingxue complimented when she saw that the sub-dragon was controlled in place. Then she charged over and closed the distance with it, catching the chance when it was still struggling.
She twirled the long spear in her hand, its tip glowing with green light as she struck it toward Jing Xuan. Just as the strike was about to land, a protective barrier suddenly materialized in front of Jing Xuan and blocked her attack.
Seeing this, Lin Xingxue bit on her lower lip as she used more force and pushed the long spear in with both hands, but was still unable to move the long spear in for even an inch. In the next second, as if feeling something, she pushed off the barrier with the force of her attack to keep her distance with the sub-dragon, barely dodging the beam of light that it sent out.
Mo Shiyan still held the Celestial Bow in his hand as he gripped it even tighter when he noticed that Lin Xingxue’s attack was ineffective. He turned his head and asked in a low voice, "Zihan, how much longer can those chains hold?"
Sweat rolled down Jiang Zihan’s forehead as he continued to transport magical energy into the formation through his right hand. Maintaining those chains uses a lot of magical energy, and he could feel that he’s reaching his limit.
"One minute at most. This sub-dragon’s spatial bloodline is even more powerful than I thought, and can even disturb my connection with my own spatial abilities," he replied as he increased the amount of magical energy he was transporting, causing the formation to glow even brighter, although it quickly dimmed again.
Jin Xuan let out a low, resonant dragon’s roar as it stared at the group with wariness and rage. The sub-dragon beat its wings, causing spatial fluctuations to appear around its surroundings. Jiang Zihan was even a bit worried that it might cause the instability of this space, which would place all of them in danger.
Just as they planned their next attacks, Chen Tianyu finally had the courage to step forward and shouted, "Wait!"
Everyone’s eyes turned at him, causing pressure to surround him. Especially with Lin Xingxue’s sight, it made him want to step back immediately, though he still forced himself to stand in front of them and stopped their movement. "Please... please give me a little more time. I think that I can persuade Jing Xuan."
Lin Xingxue frowned a little. "Chen Tianyu, have you lost your mind? Right now, the person it wants to attack the most is you. You should know that fact more than me, am I right?"
Chen Tianyu froze for a moment, though he still met Lin Xingxue’s eyes. Then he let out a light smile and replied, "I know that you are worried about me, but I still want to try. I believe that Jing Xuan would not hurt me."
His eyes were clear, reflecting her figure in them, making her feel a bit uneasy. She chose to turn her head to the side and said, "Who’s worried about you? You’re thinking too much; just do whatever you want."
Then she lowered her head and whispered, "Just don’t die. Or else... or else I’m definitely not gonna help you buy a coffin."
Although her voice was very low, Chen Tianyu still managed to hear it. He was stunned for a moment before replying, "I won’t."
After saying so, he took a deep breath and put away his weapon before he slowly walked toward Jing Xuan.
"Chen Tianyu!" In the end, Lin Xingxue couldn’t stop herself from calling out again. Chen Tianyu paused for a second before waving his head, signaling everyone not to come any closer, and continued to walk forward.
Jing Xuan immediately noticed him, whose silver, slit-like pupils were fixed onto its contractor, letting out a low, threatening growl. Chen Tianyu stopped in place about ten meters away from him. That was within Jing Xuan’s striking range, and based on Chen Tianyu’s strength, Jing Xuan could basically kill him with one attack, though Chen Tianyu did not choose to move.
They glanced silently at each other for a while, and Chen Tianyu was the first one to speak after a few minutes, breaking the silence. "I know that you have never acknowledged me."
Jing Xuan did not respond at all, and Chen Tianyu did not mind his reaction.
