Reborn as the Top Omega Hunter: My Alpha Hears My Inner Thoughts [BL]
Chapter 47: Sub-Dragon
"Shiyan...?" Jiang Zihan tilted his head in confusion as he stared at the person beside him. However, for some reason, he did not pull his hand away.
"Don’t stand too close. It’s very dangerous," Mo Shiyan warned, his voice low. Jiang Zihan quickly nodded his head.
The battle was still continuing. The young girl, Lu Xingyue, swung her long spear across the floor toward Chen Tianyu, which he instinctively jumped backward and dodged the attack.
Seeing this, Lu Xingyue’s anger continued to build. She suddenly stood in place with her fist clenched. Then she took a deep breath before slowly lifting a hand high above her head. In the next moment, a light green glow of magical energy began to gather above her palm. "Seems like you are not accepting the opportunity that I give you," she slowly said.
Chen Tianyu somehow had a bad feeling as he waved both hands in front of him and said, "W-wait—"
Before he even had the chance to finish the sentence, the light green glow suddenly grew even brighter. "If you refuse to admit what you’ve done, then you could just disappear in this world forever!"
Jiang Zihan’s eyes immediately widened when he felt the overwhelming power contained in that attack. While he was still hesitating whether he should step up to help block this attack (at least to keep Chen Tianyu’s life), he felt a sudden chill coming from the right.
The magical energy also disappeared above Lu Xingyue’s palm when she felt a powerful aura coming from behind her.
"What—?!" she gasped as she quickly turned around to see what was happening.
Then Lu Xingyue’s pupils shrank as she saw a spatial rift slowly opening in front of her. Even from such a distance, Jiang Zihan could somehow feel an immense wave of spatial energy coming out of it, causing him to frown a little.
In the next second, an enormous beast’s claw emerged from the crack, its razor-sharp talons slicing through the air.
"W-what... What in the world is this?!" one of the students cried out as he watched the whole process.
"Don’t scare yourself! Don’t forget that we’re currently at the academy, and the teachers will arrive soon!" another student said as he tried to comfort him. Magical energy began to run throughout his body, revealing that he was a self-awakened Hunter. Even so, cold sweat still rolled down his forehead as he looked toward the spatial rift.
"Not again?!" Chen Tianyu shouted. His face immediately turned deathly pale as he wanted to step backward. However, it was as if he suddenly recalled something; finally, he forced himself to stand in place.
"You’ve got to be kidding me..." Lu Xingxue muttered as she no longer paid any attention to Chen Tianyu. Instead, she charged toward the direction of the spatial rift as she gathered a pale-green beam of light in her hand and fired it toward the unknown beast.
However, that level of attack seemed to be completely ineffective. Out of what she had expected, the unknown beast only stopped for less than half a second before it continued forcing its way through the spatial rift.
"Damn it!" Lu Xingxue cursed under her breath before she leapt backward. Suddenly, one of the unknown beast’s razor-sharp claws slammed down onto the spot where she had been standing just a few seconds ago.
A deep, rumbling roar echoed through the area as the massive beast, nearly three meters tall, crawled out from the spatial rift.
The creature’s body was covered in silvery-white scales that shimmered with a faint metallic luster beneath the sunlight. A pair of massive wings were partially spread behind it, while the edges of its body and wings carried a light pink color.
"This is... a dragon?" Jiang Zihan murmured to himself, his voice filled with disbelief. This was the first time he had seen a dragon in real life. Although he had read about them in the books stored within the library, at first he only thought that they were rumors.
He had never imagined that such a creature actually existed in the real world. Just as he was still shocked by the dragon’s appearance, she suddenly felt a spatial fluctuation spreading from the direction of the spatial rift, and that feeling seemed to become stronger and stronger. Even the surrounding space seemed to become a bit unstable because of the dragon’s presence.
In the next moment, Mo Shiyan’s voice rose beside him. "To be precise, it’s a sub-dragon with a spatial bloodline. There are barely any true dragons that exist in this world right now," Mo Shiyan explained as he looked toward the sub-dragon, his expression slowly turning serious.
"A sub-dragon?" Jiang Zihan repeated that word, his voice filled with confusion.
Mo Shiyan nodded his head before explaining, "Although it possesses draconic blood, its lineage isn’t pure, so it’s classified as a sub-dragon. However, even without being a true dragon, a sub-dragon with a spatial bloodline is way more dangerous than most high-ranking pure-blooded creatures."
At that moment, the sub-dragon slowly lowered its head to look at Chen Tianyu. Seeing this, Chen Tianyu immediately froze. He forced a smile onto his face, although it’s one that looked even more miserable than crying. "Jing Xuan... why did you come out on your own again?"
Jiang Zihan was stunned for a moment after hearing that question. "It seems like... this student has some relationship with the sub-dragon..."
Just at this time, the sub-dragon tilted its head and let out a low, rumbling roar. Then, with heavy steps, it charged toward Chen Tianyu. His smile froze, as he could already picture his future of lying in the school infirmary’s bed for the next few weeks like he always had every other time.
He instinctively took a step backward and shouted, "Wait—Jing Xuan, stop there!"
Chen Tianyu quickly waved his hands toward it. Seeing this, Jing Xuan did stop for a second, but before he could celebrate that his dragon had finally listened to him, Jing Xuan merely blinked its eyes before it chose to continue charging toward him.
Chen Tianyu: "..."
He gave up and closed his eyes, persuading himself to accept fate when nothing had happened after waiting for a while. He cautiously opened an eye and realized that Jing Xuan was wrapped in several strands of thread.
"This is...?" He was stunned for a moment before turning his head and noticing that it was Jiang Zihan who was controlling the threads.
"Everyone, get away from here!" Jiang Zihan shouted as he tightened his grip, causing Jing Xuan to let out a painful growl as it struggled.
At last, he could not just stand and watch Chen Tianyu die in front of him, although he felt that Chen Tianyu might have other ways to escape.
Hearing his words, all of the students immediately left the area, leaving only the four of them at the scene.
"Just as I thought—your dragon doesn’t listen to you at all. What kind of summoner are you supposed to be?!" Lu Xingxue yelled as she gritted her teeth.
Although she was saying that, she didn’t choose to leave as the other students did. She immediately fired a beam of light toward the sub-dragon. Several attacks struck Jing Xuan at the same time, causing dust to fly around it.
Chen Tianyu felt somewhat wronged, as he had no idea that Jing Xuan would be so hard to control. "I didn’t plan to form a contract with it at the beginning," he said.
"When my consciousness first appeared in the summoning world, I somehow ended up right beside it. I originally planned to leave that area, but then it suddenly opened its eyes and glanced at me. Right after that, the bond had somehow completed itself, so it really wasn’t my fault."
"At first, I was pretty excited. But later, I realized that aside from fighting, it completely ignores my commands. If it wasn’t for the fact that it had never actually hurt anyone before, the Hunter Association would most likely have revoked my Hunter’s License a long time ago."
After hearing Chen Tianyu’s explanation, Jiang Zihan felt a bit of pity for him. Then he asked surprisingly, "A summoned beast can form a contract with a summoner without the summoner agreeing?"
"Usually, that’s not the case. Traditional summoning contracts are usually initiated by the summoner, and the summoned beast is required to obey the summoner’s commands. However, this sub-dragon is a bit different, as it possesses the bloodline of a Spatial Dragon. The space element is definitely one of the hardest elements to control, and dragon bloodlines are naturally arrogant."
"The fact that it was able to choose this guy and establish a contract with him on its own was basically a miracle," Lin Xingxue explained, her expression helpless.
Jiang Zihan was a bit interested in that topic and wanted to ask more about it, but he also knew that it’s not the time for that, since Jing Xuan seemed to be angered by the attacks.
