Chapter 31: Come Out

The person next to him reacted quickly and tried to materialize his weapon when another figure charged toward him at lightning speed, kicking toward his abdomen. That impact caused him to fly out and land heavily after tumbling across the ground.

Not long after, the whole team had been ’eliminated’. Jiang Zihan carefully withdrew all the threads before he skillfully crouched down and began searching for their cards.

"A total of three thousand Ice Points. Not a bad haul." While speaking, his eyes immediately lit up after the calculation.

Mo Shiyan stood nearby, on guard. After he heard the number, a light smile appeared on his face.

"Just a bit unsure... how those students who haven’t awakened are supposed to face these upperclassmen..." Jiang Zihan murmured quietly, his voice full of concern.

On the other side, there were three figures hiding in a large tree, watching a senior team walking by.

"...Are we actually gonna do it?" Shen Qingyi asked, swallowing nervously.

"Of course. If we don’t take theirs, they will take ours. Also, if I did not think wrong, this should also be a part of what the academy is testing us on," Gu Zhao replied calmly, staring at the senior team with greed.

"But... but we haven’t even awakened yet. Just relying on equipment... would that really work?" Shen Qingyi continued to ask, holding tighter on the whip in her hand.

Shen Qingci, the only member in the team who has awakened, observed the team for a moment before speaking. "It seems like these senior teams all travel in groups of five. This team isn’t very strong overall, but their captain seems tough."

"He’s most likely a C-Rank Hunter. How about we—"

He was just about to suggest finding another target when Gu Zhao suddenly spoke. "I have been observing them for a long time already. Only their captain seems to be a threat, while Qingci could take care of the rest of the team. This is a perfect opportunity."

"Wait—" Shen Qingyi gasped as she reached out, but she was only able to touch the corner of his clothing.

Shen Qingci let out a sigh and had no choice but to materialize a pair of daggers in his hand before lunging straight at the captain.

"Coming for me, huh?" the captain raised an eyebrow as he casually leaped backward, dodging the strike. "Your power is enough; however, this kind of attack... is too weak!"

After saying so, he thrust his palm forward and hit it toward Shen Qingci’s abdomen. The impact caused him to fly out and slam into a tree trunk behind him a few meters away. A streak of blood immediately dropped from the corner of his mouth, then fell to the floor.

"So strong..." Gu Zhao muttered as he subconsciously took a step back, his body trembling.

Shen Qingyi gripped her whip tightly, though her legs also trembled uncontrollably. However, noticing that her brother had been attacked, she still took a deep breath and rushed forward and hugged him into her embrace. "Brother, how are you?!" she asked, her voice concerned.

Shen Qingci wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and forced himself to stand back up. Shen Qingyi wanted to hold him, but he refused. Suddenly, he saw that there was an upperclassman standing behind Shen Qingyi, planning to attack her. He immediately yelled out, "Qingyi, watch out!"

Shen Qingyi was stunned for a second, unsure of what was happening. Before she had the time to turn her head, Shen Qingci had already thrown a dagger out. The blade flashed through the air and struck the upperclassman before he could react, knocking him to the ground with a heavy thud.

Then he charged forward and ’eliminated’ the remaining team members, leaving only the captain standing in front of him. He stared toward Shen Qingci, and the strong aura surrounding him had forced Shen Qingci to tighten his grip on the twin daggers in his hands.

’Eliminating’ the whole team had added several severe wounds to his body, and his head started becoming dizzy, almost falling to the floor. The next second, the pair of daggers in his hand dropped to the floor.

Shen Qingyi quickly reached her hands out, allowing her brother to lean on her shoulders. She wanted to ask for help, but looking around, she realized that Gu Zhao had already run away.

"This guy... can’t he even show a little sense of responsibility?!" she shouted as she looked up. The captain’s sight gave her great pressure, but she didn’t step back, holding the whip even tighter in her hands.

However, Shen Qingci had already lost consciousness, and she could barely fight at all. Just as she was about to fall into despair, the captain suddenly turned his head and raised an arm, blocking an arrow that flew out from somewhere within the forest.

"Come out," he said calmly, though it sounded more like a command. His sight landed on the direction the arrow came from.

After a long moment of silence, Mo Shiyan jumped down a tree and landed gently on the ground. He first looked toward Shen Qingyi, who was sitting on the ground, and then his sight moved toward Shen Qingci, who had lost consciousness, not saying a single word.

"Your arrows are fast," the captain said. The next moment, his voice suddenly turned deep. "But... they’re still not strong enough!"

After saying so, he hurled the arrow at Mo Shiyan. Although Mo Shiyan quickly dodged to the side, a gash was still sliced across his face, and blood began to seep out.

"Hiss..." Mo Shiyan lightly gasped.
