Jiang Zihan burrowed even deeper beneath the quilt, covering himself as a whole. Mo Shiyan walked over and poked at the quilt, and Jiang Zihan moved even further away from him. It looked exactly like a caterpillar that was desperately trying to crawl to safety.

"Zihan... come out," Mo Shiyan softly said, though his tone sounded commanding.

There was no response, as expected. Mo Shiyan let out a sigh and spoke with a pitiful voice. "Seems like no one is interested in my newly made fried chicken. Guess I’ll have to eat it all myself~

After he finished the sentence, he immediately noticed that the caterpillar moved a little. However, Jiang Zihan still didn’t appear. Seeing this, he continued, "Oh, right. I also baked some cookies. Let me go check how it is right now."

After saying so, he left the room, and the door closed behind him. A few seconds later, Jiang Zihan cautiously pulled the quilt off his head. He looked around and noticed the plate of fried chicken sitting on the table.

Fried chicken! My love!

His eyes lit up immediately. He quickly scrambled off the bed, rushed to the table, and grabbed a piece. Then he tentatively placed it in his mouth; his eyes widened immediately. In the next second, he rolled happily across the bed.

This is so delicious! As expected of the game’s protagonist; he’s totally perfect at everything!

Jiang Zihan quickly finished the first piece of fried chicken. He looked around and didn’t see Mo Shiyan around, but as he reached out for another piece, he heard a knock on the door. He stiffly turned his head around, and saw that Mo Shiyan was standing by the door, staring at him with a smile.

Jiang Zihan: "!!!"

That smile... he could feel that it was very dangerous. He watched as Mo Shiyan slowly walked in front of him, and forced himself to not step back.

It wasn’t his mistake in the first place...

"No longer hiding from me anymore?" Mo Shiyan asked.

Jiang Zihan froze for a moment before turning his head to the side. "I... I wasn’t hiding from you in the first place," he muttered as he lowered his hand.

His voice was so low that Mo Shiyan almost didn’t hear what he said. Suddenly, Mo Shiyan bent down in front of him, staring at him seriously.

His gaze made Jiang Zihan feel a bit uneasy. "Why... why are you looking at me like that?"

His voice grew quieter and quieter, until it completely fell silent. When Mo Shiyan leaned even closer, until their faces were only a few centimeters apart, Jiang Zihan couldn’t help but let out a soft gasp.

His heart skipped a beat while he subconsciously scrambled backward. However, he did not notice that he was already near the edge of the bed, and the next second, his hands reached behind with nothing left. The next second, his whole body tipped backward and was about to fall to the ground.

"Ah!"

Jiang Zihan instinctively closed his eyes, ready to accept fate. One second... two seconds... nothing happened.

He tentatively opened an eye and sat back up in confusion. He fell to the floor but didn’t sense any pain.

Jiang Zihan: "...?"

Suddenly, he heard someone breathing heavily from beneath him. He lowered his head and met Mo Shiyan’s eyes. It was only because Mo Shiyan jumped below him quick enough that he wasn’t injured.

Jiang Zihan quickly climbed off him and reached out his hand. "Thanks... thanks for your help."

Mo Shiyan held his hand. Jiang Zihan wanted to pull him up when Mo Shiyan suddenly pulled him over, causing him to sit above Mo Shiyan.

"Shiyan...?"

"So... are you feeling better now?" Mo Shiyan asked. Although his tone was just as always, Jiang Zihan could somehow feel a sense of nervousness in it.

He nodded and replied, "I... I was just a bit confused by what you did earlier..."

Mo Shiyan fell silent for a moment and pulled Jiang Zihan even closer to him. "You mean... like this?"

"I didn’t... let go of me..."

He wanted to struggle, but Mo Shiyan was holding him too tightly. He didn’t want to hurt him, so he didn’t use his ability, which left him in an awkward position.

At last, he could only change the topic and asked, "Do you know that doctor from the Interstellar Ice Hunting Academy?"

I don’t understand what Shiyan is doing, but at least I have to know where we are right now in the storyline.

Mo Shiyan felt silent, as if he didn’t know if he should say the truth or not. Finally, he replied honestly, "She’s my biological sister."

Jiang Zihan’s eyes immediately widened. So Shiyan does know that he’s the ’real heir’ of the Gu Family.

He turned around and bent down, biting on his finger nervously. Oh my... that means that the plotline of eliminating Gu Yan should be starting. I’m totally not prepared for it.

What is my possibility to escape successfully if I run now?

He turned his head, peeping at Mo Shiyan’s expression, but as always, he couldn’t see anything different.

Don’t really see hostility in his eyes. Maybe it’s because I was nice to him these previous months...

Then he shook his head vigorously, shaking off that sense of wishful thinking from his mind. Don’t forget what the original owner had done to him. How would Shiyan let go of me that easily?

The more he thought about it, the more terrified he became. He could already imagine the scene of Mo Shiyan throwing him off the cliff, his expression cold and indifferent.

At the same time, someone tapped gently on the back of his head. He was so scared that the moment he turned around, he crawled away from Mo Shiyan.

"Zihan, what were you just thinking?" Mo Shiyan asked, his expression innocent.

However, after Jiang Zihan imagined all those horrifying scenarios, he no longer believed that Mo Shiyan was as innocent as he looked.
