"Doctor, may I come in?" Jiang Zihan’s voice rose from behind the door.

Gu Yuxi raised an eyebrow, staring at Mo Shiyan playfully. "So... what are you planning to do next?"

Mo Shiyan’s expression was constantly changing, and a few seconds later, the arrow disappeared in his hand.

Gu Yuxi let out a light smile before standing straight. She smoothed out her appearance before looking toward the door. "Come in."

The door opened, and Jiang Zihan stepped inside. He immediately started searching for Mo Shiyan’s figure, and his eyes lit up after seeing that he had woken up. He quickly walked up and thanked Gu Yuxi for her help before she informed him that Mo Shiyan was alright and can leave already.

"Shiyan, how are you feeling right now? Can you walk by yourself? What did the doctor say?" Jiang Zihan asked anxiously. He reached out to touch his forehead, then his hand brushed against his body, checking if he was feeling uncomfortable anywhere.

His continuous questions made Mo Shiyan feel a little helpless, as he did not know which question he should answer first. Then his movement also made him panic. He looked toward Gu Yuxi and noticed that she was staring at Jiang Zihan strangely, so he immediately stepped forward and blocked in front of him.

Jiang Zihan slowly sneaked his head out, but at the same time, Mo Shiyan also shifted his body over, blocking him again.

Jiang Zihan: "...?"

He tentatively leaned to the side and sneaked his head out again, while Mo Shiyan continued shifting over. After trying a few times, he understood that Mo Shiyan didn’t want him to interact with Gu Yuxi, so he could apologize to her mentally.

Watching him act as though she was an enemy, Gu Yuxi seemed to understand something, and said, "I’ll go out to buy some things. If you guys are done, you could directly leave the infirmary."

Even though Mo Shiyan was blocking him with his whole body, Jiang Zihan still caught the chance to politely thank Gu Yuxi.

After she left the room, Mo Shiyan quickly turned around and commanded seriously. "Don’t get so close to her."

Jiang Zihan tilted his head, not understanding his meaning, though he still said "yes". This wasn’t because he felt that Gu Yuxi was dangerous, but because he somehow remembered that he saw her before in the game.

However, Jiang Zihan was a super lazy person, and he basically skipped all the plotlines that had nothing to do with Mo Shiyan, so he barely remembers who she is.

But Shiyan seemed to have such a high hostility toward her; it seems like their relationship is really bad...

Is she just a cannon fodder character like the original owner was?

He tried to recall the characters that had been going against Mo Shiyan in the game, and suddenly a light bulb flashed through his mind.

Wasn’t that Gu Yuxi, Mo Shiyan’s biological sister!

Gu Yuxi was the eldest daughter of the Gu Family. Jiang Zihan didn’t know much about her, because she basically only appeared in the background story. However, he did remember that she was pretty nice toward Mo Shiyan, and even supported him to take control over the Gu Family.

So why would Mo Shiyan’s hostility toward his sister be so high? That’s different from the original plotline. Does he know that Gu Yuxi was his sister? Or did I remember it wrong?

While Jiang Zihan was still recalling the original plotline, Mo Shiyan’s phone suddenly rang. He lowered his head and saw that Gu Yuxi sent him a message. He frowned as he deleted that message. Thinking that might not be enough, he blocked her number too.

Jiang Zihan was so lost in his thoughts that he didn’t even notice where Mo Shiyan brought him to. In the end, it was Mo Shiyan’s voice that brought him back to reality.

"Zihan...? Zihan!"

"Huh?!" Jiang Zihan instinctively turned around after hearing his name, but he accidentally bumped into Mo Shiyan’s back.

Ouch!

He rubbed his nose, which had turned red from the impact. The moment he wanted to step back, he was suddenly pulled over into Mo Shiyan’s embrace.

"Shiyan...?" Jiang Zihan tentatively called Mo Shiyan’s name, which even made Mo Shiyan tighten his arms around his waist.

Mo Shiyan’s hand started to slide up, brushing through his back, and finally stopping by the back of his neck.

"Wait... Shiyan..." Jiang Zihan cried out, his knees starting to feel a bit weak. He sensed that the atmosphere wasn’t right and wanted to stop his actions.

"Don’t move..." Mo Shiyan said, his voice low and hoarse. Instead of a request, it sounded more like an order.

Mo Shiyan lowered his head as he gently rubbed the skin at the back of Jiang Zihan’s neck, though it still caused it to turn red. Jiang Zihan felt a sharp sting coming from the back of his neck—that was his scent gland sending him the signal of danger.

However, Jiang Zihan didn’t seem to understand its meaning. He looked up and saw Mo Shiyan’s eyes. They were deep and even had a sense of... possessiveness?

But that emotion disappeared in a second, causing Jiang Zihan to think that he might have mistaken him.

At last, he could no longer handle the strong feeling that came from his scent gland. He buried his face on Mo Shiyan’s shoulder, his body trembling uncontrollably.

——

Jiang Zihan did not know when he had lost consciousness; he just knew that by the time he woke up, he was back home.

The moment he opened his eyes, the memories of what happened before he had lost consciousness flooded in his mind. His cheeks blushed immediately, and he then covered himself with a quilt, no longer willing to get out of bed.

When Mo Shiyan walked into the room, the first thing he saw was Jiang Zihan covering himself up like a caterpillar. He could not help but let out a soft chuckle, which immediately attracted Jiang Zihan’s attention.
