Healing ability...?

I don’t remember hearing Siyuan mention this before...

Jiang Zihan turned his head, his eyes fixed on Mo Shiyan, as if asking him what happened.

Mo Shiyan leaned down and whispered into his ear. "It’s a new ability I just developed. By transforming the flow of magical energy throughout my body, I was able to develop more uses of my arrows, and one of them was healing small injuries. However, that ability was pretty unstable, so I did not tell you about it."

"So abilities can actually be developed? Aren’t they something you’re born with?" he asked.

Mo Shiyan shook his head lightly. "It is, but not exactly."

Seeing the confusion on Jiang Zihan’s face, he explained more clearly. "Research has shown that Hunters usually understand less than thirty percent of their own abilities. As their understanding deepens, they will be able to develop more abilities."

Hearing his explanation, Jiang Zihan suddenly recalled the scene that appeared in his dream before. There had been multiple times when his spirit flowed in some empty space. The strand of thread appeared in front of him, looking endless, and led to somewhere deeper in his consciousness.

Once, he forced himself to dive deeper in when he noticed that his surroundings suddenly turned into a vast sea of stars, while the thread coiled around an hourglass like a key.

He couldn’t explain why, but he had a feeling that the hourglass had some relationship with his transmigration, but before he could look more clearly, he was kicked out.

It seems like that hourglass might be connected to some hidden ability that could only be unlocked under certain conditions.

While he was still lost in his thoughts, the line continued to move forward, and not long after, it was already his turn.

"Place your hand on the Awakening Stone. Remember not to resist its power," the teacher instructed.

Jiang Zihan nodded before resting a hand on the Awakening Stone. He closed his eyes, letting the magical energy from the Awakening Stone run throughout his body. He felt himself returning to that vast sea of stars. The stars surrounded him and guided him towards the hourglass again.

This time, he tentatively reached his hand out, and just as he was about to touch the hourglass, his consciousness started to feel heavy, and the next second, he was kicked out again.

He opened his eyes, and at the same time, there was a bright light that glowed from the Awakening Stone. The blinding light caused tears to gather at the corner of his eyes, making him close them again. The next second, a pair of hands gently covered his eyes, blocking the light and allowing him to instinctively lift his chin.

Jiang Zihan caught the faint scent of roses drifting from the person behind him. It was Mo Shiyan.

"Student, please remove your hand from the Awakening Stone," the teacher said, his voice filled with astonishment.

When Mo Shiyan removed his hands from his eyes, Jiang Zihan looked around and noticed that the students around him were staring at him with a mixture of shock and confusion. He turned his head and realized that even the teacher had such an expression, though it looked a bit more complicated.

"Teacher... I am...?"

His voice brought the teacher back to reality. She let out a gentle smile and said, "Please go inside and wait; the exam should be starting soon. There will be a teacher who’ll lead your way."

"Thank you so much," Jiang Zihan said before stepping inside the school. On his way, he tried his best to ignore those complicated gazes following him.

The moment he stepped into the academy, he surprisingly realized something different. "This is... such incredible magical energy," he muttered as he looked down at his hands.

"Student, please follow me," a man’s voice suddenly rose from behind.

Jiang Zihan turned around immediately in alarm. There was a man standing right behind him with a bright smile on his face. However, Jiang Zihan didn’t dare to underestimate him.

This teacher was standing so close to me, but I didn’t even notice! His instincts screamed at him that this teacher was extremely dangerous.

He wanted to immediately leave this place, but he forced himself to stand in place. Noticing that the teacher was leaving, he quickly followed along as the teacher introduced the academy to him.

A few minutes later, they reached the training field, and there were three teachers already waiting there. He wanted to ask the teacher what he should do next, but when he turned his head, the teacher had already disappeared.

This teacher was so mysterious! He thought as he walked up front and greeted the teachers politely. "Hello teachers, I’m here for the admissions exam."

"Brought your student ID with you?" one of the teachers asked.

Jiang Zihan nodded before handing over his ID. After a teacher recorded his information, he told him to take a seat and wait. He turned around and noticed that there were around five students waiting there.

As Jiang Zihan walked away, one of the teachers said, "That student is pretty impressive. I can sense a very powerful aura surrounding him, though it seems like he still doesn’t understand how to control it."

"His control over magical energy is pretty nice already, since they haven’t learned systematically before. Last year I saw one whose aura was so obvious that he’s basically informing everyone that he had awakened," another teacher responded.

On the other side, Jiang Zihan did not know that the teachers were commenting on him. He looked around, trying to search for Mo Shiyan’s figure.

After waiting for a while, he noticed that Mo Shiyan was following a teacher in his direction. His eyes immediately lit up; he stood up and walked forward, waving his hand.

That action also caught the attention of other students.

Mo Shiyan thanked the teacher before sitting beside him.

"Shiyan, did you know what happened by the entrance? I noticed that other students were staring at me strangely," Jiang Zihan quickly asked.
