Chapter 19: S-Rank?!!

"You... You went into deep consciousness," Mo Shiyan explained as his eyes deepened a little.

"Deep consciousness?"

Jiang Zihan once heard his teacher mention this in class before. Certain Hunters could allow their minds to dive deeper into their consciousness, and this could allow them to explore more of their ability. However, it’s a very rare skill, and Hunters wouldn’t be able to control their body in that state.

"Also, based on the brightness of the Awakening Stone, your ranking is at least S-rank," Mo Shiyan continued.

Hearing this, Jiang Zihan almost fell off the chair. "S... S-Rank?!!"

Jiang Zihan looked around. Including himself, there were a total of ten participants. Chen Siyuan was also among them.

"You should all be familiar with the exam rules by now, but just in case, I’ll repeat it once again. There are ten participants. You’ll be divided into five pairs, with each pair fighting a one-on-one match. The winner of each match advances to the second round."

"The five winners will then be grouped again. Two pairs will battle each other, while the remaining participant receives a bye. Those two winners, along with the participant who advances automatically, will pass the admissions exam."

"Please remember that whether or not you could enter Interstellar Ice Hunting Academy would be determined by your entrance examination score. Passing this exam can only lower the admission score required for acceptance," the teacher reminded them before he announced the groups.

"The first group, Jiang Zihan and Lin Qingwan."

"Lin Qingwan?! Isn’t that the girl who had self-awakened last December? She had already awakened for more than half a year!" one of the students exclaimed.

"Half a year? As always, comparisons are odious. I have only awakened for two months; I just hope that I don’t get matched against her."

Jiang Zihan looked up in surprise, as he hadn’t expected that he would be the first one. He did hear others’ comments on his opponent. She seems to be one of the strongest participants, but no matter who his opponent is, the only thing he could do is win. He took a deep breath before standing up and walking toward the training field.

The next second, Mo Shiyan suddenly held onto his wrist. He turned around, looking at him in confusion.

Mo Shiyan’s throat bobbed a little, but at the end, he only said, "Be careful."

"Of course~ Don’t forget that I was taught by you," Jiang Zihan replied with a bright smile as he subconsciously ruffled Mo Shiyan’s hair. After doing so, he froze immediately.

He stiffly turned around and walked quickly toward the training field, pretending that nothing had happened. His opponent was already waiting for him.

"This is a one-on-one duel. The first person to lose consciousness or surrender loses the match, and the other one wins. Is that understood?"

Jiang Zihan and Lin Qingwan both said "yes", and the next moment, a protective barrier surrounded the field. Under the teacher’s command, the battle began.

Lin Qingwan was the first one to move. Her speed was extremely fast, which Jiang Zihan could barely follow her movement with just his eyes.

"This is... dark element?" Jiang Zihan muttered. Knowing the fact that he wouldn’t be able to catch up with her with just his eyes, he directly closed them.

"Why is he closing his eyes? Lin Qingwan is so fast. Shouldn’t he be focused on every movement she makes?" one of the students asked in confusion.

"What do you know? Jiang Zihan must be catching up with her through her aura," another student said.

"Locating her through her aura? He could do that already? He’s not even a professional Hunter yet!" that student exclaimed.

"Who knows?"

After Jiang Zihan closed his eyes, everything in front of him turned dark. However, his other senses became way more sensitive because of this. The next second, his ears moved. Found her!

He jumped up and tilted to the side. The strand of thread materialized above his palm, where he controlled it to wrap around his opponent.

Lin Qingwan felt something coming for her. She raised an eyebrow and twisted gracefully in midair. Then she flipped sideways and avoided the attack.

Seeing that things didn’t go as he thought, Jiang Zihan didn’t feel discouraged. He continued controlling the thread to fly toward Lin Qingwan in different directions, while Lin Qingwan continuously dodged it with her lightning speed.

"Is Jiang Zihan an idiot? He knows that his attack wouldn’t be able to work; why is he continuing this useless action?" one of the students asked.

Lin Qingwan frowned a little, not understanding what his purpose was. However, that didn’t affect her next move. She did not want to waste time on him anymore.
