Just as he was thinking about life, someone knocked on the door. He looked up and noticed that his mother was standing by the door.

"Mom?"

Seeing that her son noticed her, she stepped into the room and explained. "I saw that Mo Shiyan cooked you some food. He was in the room for a while but still hasn’t come out, so I came to check on you."

Shiyan cooked for me?

Hearing her words, Jiang Zihan’s heart felt a bit warm. He was just about to tell her not to worry when he saw her pull Mo Shiyan over to the side, instructing him in a low voice.

At their distance, he could only hear a few words like "take care" and "trouble".

So my mother is here for Mo Shiyan and not for me...

After his mother left the room, Jiang Zihan quickly pulled Mo Shiyan over to the bed and asked him what she had said.

"Secret," he replied.

——

The next day, Jiang Zihan went through the same process. First, he got into a fight with Mo Shiyan, though he never once actually won. However, he did feel that his understanding of his ability was becoming stronger and stronger. By the end of the day, he could barely even move a finger.

This all continued until the end of the month, which is the day of the academy’s special admissions exam.

"How long do we still have to wait here?" Jiang Zihan asked as he raised a hand above his forehead. He stared up front, trying to see through the crowd.

The number of students who came to attend this exam was more than he expected. The crowd was so dense that he could barely see the school entrance. There were so many people who had self-awakened.

"Not everyone who came here had self-awakened." As if he knew what Jiang Zihan was thinking, Mo Shiyan quickly said as he tilted his chin toward the front.

Jiang Zihan’s sight followed the direction he was pointing at, and he noticed a student who was being stopped by the gate, and the teacher had not allowed him in.

"I’m 100% sure that I self-awakened a few weeks ago. Please let me in," the student said.

"Student, you have already interacted with the Awakening Stone, and there’s no reaction. That means that you did not self-awaken. Please return home and wait patiently for your entrance exam score," the teacher explained as she adjusted her glasses.

The student was unwilling to accept that fact, but there’s nothing much he could do about it. He could only walk away and leave.

"This is...?" Jiang Zihan turned around and asked.

"There are some students who have strong senses. As they are reaching the age of 18, those senses would become stronger and stronger, and sometimes they could loosely feel their weapon."

"Those students mix that feeling with self-awakening, so every year there are a lot of students who come to attend the academy’s special admissions exam," he continued.

"Then I also...?"

"You’re different. You are able to let your weapon materialize," Mo Shiyan explained.

Suddenly, he felt something coming from behind. His eyes sharpened as he turned around and seized the hand reaching out for his shoulder. Then he twisted the arm behind the person’s back. The next second, a terrifying cry echoed through the area.

Jiang Zihan’s heart skipped a beat when he turned around to check what happened. The moment he noticed that Mo Shiyan was restraining another student, he quickly walked up and separated the both of them. "Shiyan, let go of him!"

Hearing his words, Mo Shiyan loosened his grip a little, though he did not fully let go. He stared at that student; his eyes deepened.

"Hey! Let go! Let go of me!" that student yelled, the pain causing his face to twitch. Mo Shiyan finally let go of him and asked, "What were you trying to do?"

"Nothing! I just happened to hear your conversation and wanted to compliment your nice presentation, but you suddenly twisted my arm!" that student explained as he rubbed his aching wrist.

He pulled up his sleeves, believing that he would definitely see a bruise when he surprisingly realized that there was nothing on it.

"I don’t like people touching me," Mo Shiyan said coldly. Especially people who are circling around me for those boring reasons.

At this time, Jiang Zihan was finally able to separate them and apologized. "Sorry, Shiyan didn’t mean any harm. I’ll apologize on his behalf."

That student waved his hand and nicely replied, "It’s okay. It was also my mistake for patting him without his permission."

Then, he suddenly froze.

Jiang Zihan looked at him strangely. "Are you okay?"

That student didn’t answer his question. Instead, he pressed his hand on his right shoulder, where he felt a sense of lightness. He looked toward Mo Shiyan with astonishment and quickly rushed toward him, though Jiang Zihan did not let him go near.

"What are you doing?!" Jiang Zihan asked in shock, pulling their distance away from him.

Seeing his reaction, that student might have understood that his actions were a bit weird. He scratched the back of his head and smiled brightly toward them. "My name is Chen Siyuan. You can just call me Siyuan."

As they talked, Jiang Zihan learned that Chen Siyuan had also come to take the academy’s special admission exam. A few days ago, he was shopping at a mall when a dungeon gate suddenly opened right in front of him. He wasn’t able to get away in time, so he fell into the dungeon.

"But I was also very lucky. The professional Hunters came just in time, so I didn’t have to die in the monster’s stomach. But while escaping, I accidentally twisted my arm. The doctor told me that it would take almost a month to recover."

"I thought that I’d have to take the admissions exam using this injured arm, but it seems like your friend had healed my arm," Chen Siyuan explained, his voice filled with excitement.
