Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 606: Batteries

Chapter 606: Batteries

A large clump of nanoparticles started to form above the Drone’s frame.

It formed a rectangular frame, which bore a close similarity to that of the Drone’s body but a lot smaller and a lot simpler.

He could hear the sounds of millions of metallic clicking from the nanoparticles as they ’worked’ on the mini drone’s frame.

As soon as they finished building the foundational structure of the Mini Drone, the nanoparticles swarmed onto its sides to start creating its propellers.

Amazingly, he saw a solid structure made out of Mithril after the nanoparticles were done with it.

As the Mini Drone’s construction was underway, the Drone itself was also being swarmed by nanoparticles. They were working on changing the very surface of the Drone, changing it to accommodate the technology that allowed it to become invisible.

It looked like a hive of mechanical bees had made their homes on the Drone’s surface.

About half an hour later, the upgrades were finished and the nanoparticles sunk back down into the frame of the Drone.

A lot had changed with his Drone.

First of all, the miniature drone was perched on top of the frame. This was where it was going to be placed naturally, seeing as there was a dedicated landing space for it.

This made the Drone a little bulky, but it didn’t matter.

The Mini Drone’s body was about half the size of the Drone and only had two propellers instead of four. Of course, the mini drone also lacked the two [Unity Gun] barrels on the side of the Drone as well as the cannon barrel on the bottom for the [Unity Grenade].

The only thing that the Mini Drone had was the 360 degree view camera at the bottom of its frame. This would allow him to also see the mini drone’s perspective at the same time as his eyes and his Main Drone.

As for his Main Drone, its main frame now had these hexagonal shapes stamped all around its surface area. These looked like screens that would be able to reflect the light and allow it to look invisible.

Thankfully, the Invisibility upgrade also included the mini drone, with its frame also having those hexagonal shapes.

It’s time to try it out.

He had also recovered his AP to its full capacity while he waited for the upgrade.

Standing up, he picked up the glasses from the Drone and entered its [Shared Vision].

Immediately, three separate perspectives entered his mind. It disoriented him a little bit as he wasn’t used to processing this much visual information at the same time.

But after a few moments, he slowly got used to it.

Next, he piloted the two Drones to fly up and face towards him.

This was the easy part, of course. The hard part would be to control all two drones with great proficiency while also moving his own body.

And as expected, he had a little bit of trouble simultaneously controlling all three. It was awkward. It’s the same feeling as brushing your teeth with your left hand instead of your right hand.

It took some getting used to before he could properly say that he ’piloted’ them. There were a lot of crashing drones in the trees.

But thankfully, it didn’t take long before he had a basic mastery over the two drones.

Anyway, in most scenarios, I would only have to control the two Drones while I keep my body safe in a different location.

Next, he wanted to see the capabilities of his Invisibility upgrade.

With a single thought, the hexagonal shapes on the Drones’ frames began to change color. One by one, the hexagonal blocks began to adapt to the color of whatever was behind them.

If the propeller was in front of a bunch of leaves, the hexagonal shapes would copy its image exactly.

And it seemed like it didn’t matter which way people looked at the Drone. It would adapt to whatever their perspective was, effectively making them invisible to everyone.

If someone looks at it hard enough, they can see the outline of the Drone, he realized.

But that was only if they put in the effort to look. And if they didn’t even know that the Drone was in the vicinity, they would never find it.

As of now, this was a good way to keep his Drone at stealth.

Of course, with its noisy propellers, it couldn’t be helped that people would eventually be notified of its presence.

He just have to keep his Drones at a respectable distance and only swoop in once he was sure that he could siphon a large amount of AP from the fight.

That was his tactic to charge the batteries.

By the way, Harbinger. How much Aubility Power does the ’Quantum Step’ need for it to be activated?

[Uhhh…this much I guess?]

In the void of his mind, he saw Harbinger raise his hands and gesture with his fingers, as if he was measuring a fish instead.

Michael shook his head in disappointment.

ChatJK4…I miss you.

Harbinger wasn’t ChatJK4 and couldn’t give him a direct answer. Looks like he had to figure this out all on his own.

Sigh… okay, let’s say that I had about 200 AP in my GodForge pieces during that time. And the AP that I siphoned from the Knight would be about 400 AP.

And since I almost emptied out my AP, it’s safe to say that the ’Quantum Step’ would need 600 AP.

Of course, those were just arbitrary numbers since he didn’t have a definite way of measuring AP yet. He’d have to ask for ChatJK4’s help later once it finished its software update.

And with each battery, I think I can store about 2000 AP.

That would mean that a 100% charged battery would give him three uses of ’Quantum Leap’.

And if he had two batteries, he could potentially have six uses in total, which wasn’t bad at all.

If he put himself into the equation as well, then he could charge as many batteries as he wanted. Though, the risk would exponentially increase for him.

Now that he knew the capabilities of the battery, he began his preparation.

First, he created more iron switches and reverse graphite blocks from the ground. Thankfully, this Pocket Dimension had plenty of that.

He made sure to make extras in his pocket just in case.

Then, he started to attach the switches and the reverse blocks together, creating the batteries.

He attached a battery to each of the Drone, and it fit snuggly near the bottom of the frame.

Now that he was prepared, he had to think about what to do next.

Should I just stay still and hide here?

He looked at the skies and still saw no sign of the supposed signal that Alaric would give them.

Maybe I should start walking around.

[Kukuku…you know that’s the best option.] Harbinger advised.

After thinking about it some more, he decided that it wasn’t a bad idea to start surveying his surroundings a little bit.

He piloted the Drones to fly off in different directions as he tried to find any sort of activity in the area.
