Chapter 607: Drones surveillance
Using his Drone and his Mini Drone, he found himself fully aware of his surroundings. The amount of information he got from three different perspectives allowed him to cover more ground in a short amount of time.
Of course, he used his Drone’s Aubility Vision, seeing things through an orange and violet world. Those that were bright red indicated Aubility Power, and those with a cool violet indicate its absence. Because of this, finding other people was a lot easier.
It wasn’t long before his Main Drone saw a large clashing of orange glow in the distance. Judging from the explosions of AP going around in the area, it was easy to guess that there was a battle currently ongoing in the distance.
He and his mini drone quickly changed directions and followed the Main Drone towards them, hoping to find someone he was familiar with.
Using his Supreme Skill, he peered through the dense forestry and saw two different Light mana signatures in the distance. They weren’t someone he was familiar with, that’s for sure.
Once his drones were about a half a kilometer away from the commotion, their hexagonal stamps started to change color, adapting and reflecting the light around them. They blended into the surroundings, showing only the very slightest outline around their frame.
And because he was wary of them hearing his drones, he made sure to keep a respectable distance away from them, just enough for him to get a closer look at what was happening.
Once he was near, he changed his Drone’s vision to the normal setting, allowing him to see what they looked like.
On the left side was a man in a similar full steel armor, indicative of his allegiance to the Order.
Meanwhile, opposite him was a woman who wore a black robe and a scrunched-up pointed hat on her head. She was definitely a wizard from the Magic Tower.
Both fighters looked to have been battling for quite some time, evidenced by the scuff marks around their bodies as well as the chaos and destruction around them. Trees were incinerated, craters were made, and a lot more damage was done to the environment.
The Knight had his sword raised up in the air, with a rock golem Diva hovering above him. The Mage on the other hand had a magical feline with monocles as her Diva.
They’re not from any of the Legacies.
This meant that they weren’t his allies. This made him a lot hesitant in approaching them.
Should I leave them alone?
[No, no, no, you have to charge your batteries] Harbinger immediately interjected.
This time, Harbinger was right. For him to feel confident in walking around the Pocket Dimension full of Maugnetics three to four stages above him, he needed to have at least one charge for his ’Quantum Step’.
This looks to be a good first practice to see if my drones work.
He saw that the glowing intensity of their Aubility Power was just the same as the Knight he had fought earlier, meaning that they were probably in the 7th stage of Body Formation.
This would be the perfect time to charge his batteries.
So, with determination, he slowly piloted his drones to move closer to the fight.
The Knight lunged at the wizard, with his sword having bits of soil and rock attached to the edge. The mage, seeing this, casted a magic circle and created a slimy surface in her feet to slide away to safety.
The sword just barely missed the mage’s robe, hitting the tree behind her instead.
As soon as the Knight’s sword touched the tree’s bark, a bumpy and rocky surface suddenly emerged from the point of contact. It began to spread around the tree like a virus, effectively turning everything–its roots, leaves, and its bark–into stone.
With his attack missed, the Knight kicked his foot onto the now rocky tree, using it as a platform to change his trajectory and chase after the woman.
The Knight sped forth, with the rocky tree behind him crumbling under the pressure.
The mage raised her wand in the air, with the magical feline above her wagging its tail accordingly.
A ball of a mysterious blue liquid appeared at the tip of her wand, powered by the GodForge pieces in her heart.
She casted the ball towards the chasing Knight, hitting the patch of grass in front of him.
Immediately, the grass changed into the same color as the blue liquid. As soon as the Knight stepped onto this patch of grass, his feet slid off forward uncontrollably, making him fall backwards.
Michael watched this with his drones watching behind them. He figured out their Aubilities after just one exchange.
The Knight’s Aubility allows him to turn everything into a brittle rock. The Mage’s Aubility allows her to create a slippery surface with zero friction whatsoever.
Wanting to siphon AP, he moved his drone closer to the crumbled tree that became a rock. Once he was just a meter away from it, he saw the strings that made up the Knight’s Aubility. It was jaggedy, and formed a rough outline of a boulder.
And even though the Knight was far away from this rock tree, there was still a thread connecting him towards it.
He moved his Main Drone closer, putting it in between the rock tree and the thread connecting it back to the Knight.
He piloted it perfectly to coincide the thread to the battery attached to the Drone’s frame.
And just like that, the Aubility Power that was being supplied to the rock tree was siphoned away by the battery!
[0.1%… 0.2%….0.3%]
Hmmm…that’s kinda slow, he muttered.
For him to be able to use his ’Quantum Step’ without using his own AP, then he needed at least 30% of the battery filled.
At this speed, it would take him 30 minutes to fill it up to that amount.
It’s because he isn’t putting in any active effort to pump AP into this rock tree, he realized.
When he fought against the Knight, he was purposefully using his Aubility Power to burn through his defenses. There was a constant flow that allowed him to basically supercharge his battery in just a few seconds.
So if he wanted to super charge his batteries, then he needed to get his Drones in front of the battle. Though of course, at that near distance, they would be bound to find his Drone.
I could stay here and siphon off the slippery grass and the rock tree. That would be the ’safe’ option.
They definitely wouldn’t find out about his Drone if he did.
But he was a little bit impatient. He wanted to charge his batteries as fast as possible.
Trying to think up a solution, the Knight and the Mage continued to have their battle, throwing their Aubilities around to try and out do each other.
And then, he noticed something with the drone’s Aubility Vision.
At the very moment that their Aubility would land towards an object and start to ’affect’ its reality, there was a large surge of AP coming from their GodForge pieces.
If he could somehow get his drone in direct line of sight of the attack, he could siphon off all those Aubility Powers!
