Chapter 604: His specialness
Chapter 604: His specialness
The combination of both strands released a tremendous amount of energy towards his hands.
And with more power supplied, reality started to warp with much more intensity around his wrists!
The striations around the warping fabric of space became much more evident and was now visible even to the Knight himself.
The Knight narrowed his eyes, wary of the power gathering at Michael’s wrists. He was thoroughly clueless, as Michael had never shown this kind of Aubility during his previous game. He could only assume that Michael had been saving up this type of power for this very moment.
And finally, the warping of reality grew to a peak. Almost half of Michael’s body was obscured from the warping of space.
With his [Unity Saber] held in both hands, Michael thrusted his weapon.
As soon as he did, the warping of reality swallowed his whole body.
The Knight grabbed his axe tightly and planted his foot on the ground, ready for Michael’s attack. Whatever it was, he could react to it.
But in an instant, Michael’s body disappeared. There was no sign of super speed nor magic involved. It was as if he just blinked out of existence.
Immediately, the Knight was unnerved. He couldn’t see or react to where Michael disappeared.
Then, blood started to drip from his mouth.
The Knight looked down and saw Michael below him, with his [Unity Saber] pierced through his stomach. Confusion filled the Knight’s mind even before the pain could catch up.
And suddenly, the Knight’s body began to shimmer in and out of existence.
With the Unity Saber burning a hole through the Knight’s stomach, Pocket Dimension deemed it too dangerous for him to continue. He was being automatically teleported out of the game.
Even as the Knight was losing his consciousness, he couldn’t understand how Michael was able to ’teleport’ right towards him. Even with teleporting magic or super speed, his 7th stage cultivation would have allowed him to see or sense where his opponents would end up.
But with this, he was completely unaware. He wasn’t able to react.
As his vision went black, his unconscious body was teleported right into the stage, right in front of the crowd’s eyes.
Immediately, the discussions from the crowd came to a stop. They looked at the Knight with confusion, clearly not expecting him to get eliminated so soon.
“That guy was from the Order of the Heavenly Knights! How did he get eliminated so fast?!”
“Did anyone see him? Who did he fight?”
“It must have been incredibly strong. Probably in the 8th or 9th stage. To defeat someone of his caliber without any one of us seeing it means that the fight must have been over really quickly.”
All of them were paying attention to the other players in the Pocket Dimension. Most eyes were directed towards the leaders like Alaric, Braxton, Potbol, and all the other high-level Maugnetics, so none were paying attention to a single fighter from the Order.
Not only that, but there were plenty of fights that had started within the Pocket Dimension. Many were currently ongoing, with clashes coming from the Legacies versus the Organizations.
Because of that, no one knew how this could have happened. They could only resort to speculation.
“Look at his injury. There’s a huge hole in his stomach!”
Barnaby’s crew members were already attending to the Knight and giving him first care aid, but everyone could see the massive injury in his torso.
Therefore, it was easy to conclude that whoever he fought against also used a melee weapon like a sword.
This particular detail made the mystery even more complicated. After all, the Knights were extremely famous for their impressive swordplay and their mastery over their weapons.
If someone was able to defeat them in a one on one battle and even beat them in swordplay, then it meant that whoever fought against them was also extremely skilled.
Some also correctly guessed that the Knight was subject to a surprise attack.
“It’s gotta be from Sinclair’s Elixir. They’re the only ones that are fast enough to pull one over the Knights.”
“They’re fast, but the Knights are way too careful. It’s gotta be someone else.”
“The only people who I think can defeat this Knight in such a convincing manner are the leaders of the Major Faction.”
Michael’s name didn’t even come up once during their discussions. It didn’t even come to their mind that the weakest player on the field was the one who could have defeated the Knight.
The only one who saw the truth was the person who was looking at Michael the entire time.
Of course, it was none other than the Duchess herself.
She was quite worried for Michael given his obvious lower cultivation compared to the others. That was why she was keeping an eye on him.
And when the Knight showed up, she thought it was unlucky that he’d be eliminated so early during the game.
But knowing that he didn’t need the automobile, she knew that he wouldn’t care about the game either way.
She only wanted him to be safe.
She was ready to shout at Barnaby and have Michael teleported out of the Pocket Dimension as soon as he suffered any serious injuries.
But lo and behold, he not only survived the attack but also defeated the Knight in turn.
Suffice it to say, she was speechless.
And it wasn’t just her.
Angela Montgomery, the Duchess personal attendant, had her eyes stuck on Michael with disbelief.
“That’s not possible,” she muttered. “He shouldn’t be able to do that. He’s only in the 4th stage of Body Formation!”
Her eyes were clear, as if she knew exactly what kind of power Michael had executed.
His cultivation shouldn’t have been able to do that.
He shouldn’t have been able to know about it in the first place!
“Duchess, what am I seeing?” she asked, still in disbelief. She wanted others to verify that it wasn’t just her who saw that.
“You’re witnessing Michael’s specialiness,” the Duchess answered. “He cannot be measured through normal ways. You, no we, should have known that by now.”
…
…
…
Michael kneeled on the ground, exhausted. His Unity Saber clicked off, falling out of his hands and into the ground.
All of his muscles, bones, tendons were completely spent and in peak fatigue. Not only that, but he felt his energy at the lowest. His eyelids were fighting to stay awake as if he had been staying awake for two days straight.
Despite this, he couldn’t help but smile.
He did it. He performed the ’Quantum Step’!
[Kukuku… What did I tell you? Fighting with other stronger Maugnetics will only push you to your limits. Come on! Let’s find some more victims!]
He quickly tried to reign down Harbinger’s excitement. Settle down. Can’t you see that I don’t even have energy to stand up? I need a few minutes.
Harbinger could only grumble inside the void in his mind while he tried to catch his breath.
He piloted his Drone to look at himself, and he saw that the GodForge pieces in his heart were glowing very dimly. The usual red hot orange glow was gone and was now turned into a cool blue and violet.
