Chapter 1021 Castelle V Shadow Orcs
Chapter 1021 Castelle V Shadow Orcs
“BU TO TO! You want us to do what now?!”
Narito’s outburst was mirrored by every single Shadow Ore in the room. The shadows seethed. The talents and time of these Orcs were better served than to do some construction work.
“You heard what I said,” Castelle repeated, seemingly ignoring the growing shadows behind her back. “I need you to pick up the construction of the Reborn Road System as soon as possible.
Your powers of stealth and assassination are not needed in this current stage of our progress.”
With his muscles building, Narito couldn’t help but laugh. “Haha, Miss Castelle. You don’t see me going over to your office and tell you how to do your job.
We cannot spare any more men for your frivolous endeavors. Let construction workers do their work, and let us do ours.””
Not only did the Shadow Orcs think it was beneath them to do such a thing, but it was also the complete antithesis of their organization itself!
Construction work meant that they’d have to work all day under the heat of the sun, in complete and plain view of any merchant or traveller passing through the area. How could they become an unseen force in the shadows if they were in plain view?
And in this regard, Michael could see their point. But he wasn’t going to interfere.
Castelle and the two Orc Chieftains were at a stand-off, neither wanting to admit defeat.
That was until Narito finally budged. “But… since you are a Rebornian, as we are as well, we are willing to let our Orcish pride aside and help our neighboring department. Isn’t that right, guys?”
His words sent a lot of grunts and groans from the sea of Orc Shadows in the
area.
Narito waved his hand. “Please, Miss Castelle. Pick your Orcs. Perhaps a little time in the sun will allow them to finally be chosen by the flaming drops.”
Castelle turned around, finally seeing the sea of shadows behind her. They averted their gaze, not wanting to be picked.
But a few seconds later, Castelle turned forward and looked beyond the two Orc Chieftains, towards the group of Orcs silently practicing their knife skills. “I want them,” she said.
A cold air swept around the room. Silence permeated everything.
Those Orcs were part of the High Penumbras, every single one of which were either a Maugnetic, or someone just a wisp away from awakening their Divas.
Castelle wanted the cream of the crop!
Sasuki hunched his back, the quills on his skin glistening in the darkness of the room. The tips of these incredibly sharp and barbed spines were ever so slightly pointed towards Castelle, as if they were just one wrong word away from being launched.
“You are overstepping, Miss Castelle. Rah ta ta… those are our finest warriors! They cannot waste their time on this. And they won’t follow my words even if I told them to do so.”
After their triumphant win toppling two Ersatz Strongholds, the Shadow Orcs were hungry to hunt for more.
Right now, they were scouring the entirety of New Sparta if they could see any glimpses of cracks on the walls that would lead them to another Stronghold.
They had yet to find one, but even now, they were using every single bit of their time to get stronger, knowing that their enemy would also be stronger the next time.
So, the prospect of wasting their time constructing some road was definitely repugnant to these Orcs. It served no purpose in their mission against the Ersatz.
“You will do it,” Castelle said authoritatively. “If you want to earn your GodForge pieces.”
At the mention of that word, she got the attention of all Shadow Orcs. They wanted more GodForge pieces. Most of them wanted one for the first time, while some wanted more in order to finally advance to the next stage. After their second invasion, many of them found that their hearts were beating with yearning, yearning for more GodForge to saturate their hunger.
But with how expensive they were, they knew that they couldn’t simply get one because they so desired it.
“The Reborn Road System is crucial in progressing the Reborn company. This progress means more income. And with more income, means more GodForge
pieces.”
Her words were finally starting to penetrate through the thick skulls of these Shadow Orcs.
“The reason why I wanted Maugnetic Shadow Orcs as our construction worker is because your physical prowess is much stronger than normal humans. Your efficiency is ten times higher by my calculation, meaning that the work will be ten times faster.
The faster the work, the faster the GodForge pieces,” Castelle said.
She turned towards Narito, the Orcanine Chieftain. “I will need two groups of Orcs working simultaneously. Sir Narito, I will entask you with the creation of the asphalt high way road.”
Then, she turned to Sasuki, the Orcupine Chieftain. “Sir Sasuki, you will be in charge of the Railway System.”
Finally, she addressed everyone in the room. “We will be making sure that both transportation modes will be ready at the fastest time possible. Whoever group has finished their project first will be able to get first dibs on the GodForge pieces that we will earn.”
The two Ore Chieftains’ went wide-eyed with that announcement.
It was a chance! An opportunity to progress faster than their counterpart.
Even with the two Ore species working together in this shadow organization, the two Orc Chieftains still had ambitions about taking sole control of the
leadership.
If the Orcanines finished first and gained more Maugnetics first, then Narito had better leverage against Sasuki and the Orcupines.
Of course, the opposite was also true.
Both Orc Chieftains immediately turned towards Castelle.
“BU TO TO! That road will be finished before you even know it, Miss Castelle!”
“RAH TA TA! Our railway system will be fast, not only in speed, but also
construction progress as well!”
With those declarations, the other Shadow Orcs cheered and roared. One second, they were annoyed at Castelle. And the next, they couldn’t wait to do
as she told them.
It was a masterclass!
