Chapter 722: Returning To The Sect
Chapter 722: Returning To The Sect
When the next morning came around, Kana woke up to find herself hugging Queen’s waist, using her lap as a pillow. She sat right up and checked Queen over to make sure there was nothing wrong with her. Only when she saw nothing wrong did Kana let out a sigh of relief. “Your Holiness?”
“Sorry, I forgot you were immune to my death element…. Sorry.” Kana scratched her head. She felt bad for forgetting about her power. If not for Queen being immune to her death element, Queen could have died while Kana slept.
“It’s fine. It is my job to make sure Your Holiness is always comfortable. Will Your Holiness be leaving?” Queen asked. Her voice slightly lower than before.
“Yes. Unfortunately, we should head back. I still have a lot I need to do and accomplish. ” Kana hated goodbyes, but she had no choice. She promised herself to stop in to see Queen from time to time when she had the chance to.
A few hours later, Kana and the rest were heading back to the sect. They had gone through a lot to get the frost dew grass, but now they had more than enough to complete their mission. They traveled through the day and rested at night. Kana cultivated all night instead of sleeping as she tried to rush towards the next realm.
During this time, she had actually broken through to become a rank three demonic beast due to all the high ranking beast cores Queen had given her. She figured with the remaining that she had, she could possibly get close to breaking through to rank four. She had also broken through to stage two qi gathering as well and was stepping on the heels of stage three.
Her progress seemed to have sped up a lot and even shocked the others. She hoped with closed door training, she would be able to reach qi condensation within a year. She knew it wouldn’t be as simple as wanting to rise her realm quickly and that she would need to work hard and suffer the boring process of actually cultivating.
“Finally back!” Fan yelled out as he looked at the gates to the sect that towered in front of him.
“It’s good that we are back, but what do we do about Kana?” Nana asked. While in the towns, they all formed a circle around kana to keep people from bumping into her. But now they were at the sect she feared they would kick Kana out.
“Just do as we did before. If someone causes trouble, we can only warn them, and if they don’t… Well… We did warn them….” Fei did not wish for anything to happen but she knew if something did happen they would need to at least guard themselves and at least warn the other party that they might die if they keep pushing things.
“You returned.” Elder Ning’s voice came from the sky. Kana was a little nervous. She did not want to be kicked out of the sect after going through everything she did to get in. She still had a lot to learn from the sect before she could officially venture out on her own.
“Elder Ning, we have something to report.” Nana took a deep breath and began explaining things to Elder Ning.
Elder Ning was quiet as he listened to Nana’s words without making any remarks. Only when she finished did Elder Ning finally speak: “Even if you now have some kind of special power, it doesn’t matter. You are a member of our Moon Crest Academy. You will just need to be careful not to kill anyone by accident. But if anyone tries to bully you and gets hurt because of it, as long as you give them a fair warning, it is their fault. The sect will not hold you accountable for accidental deaths when you are just defending yourself.”
Kana, who had her head lowered waiting for Elder Ning’s verdict, raised her head and looked at him with a shocked expression. She never thought Elder Ning would be okay with someone like her who was a walking death zone. “Elder Ning, are you sure? I mean. I could at any time kill someone. I mean, if someone pushes me and I bump into someone else, that would be two people dead. I am not saying I do not wish to be in the sect, but the lives of your disciples are nothing if they touch my death element. Also…. I am not sure how well I can restrain it if someone hurts one of my friends.”
“It’s fine. The sect master and myself would never allow you to be kicked out for anything that is not your fault. We both know that you are a kind person. In fact, you are too kind for the cultivation world at times. But that is also not a bad thing either. I will tell the other elders to warn their disciples not to get too close, or they will suffer the consequences.” Elder Ning waved off Kana’s worries. He did not detect any kind of demonic qi from Kana. While he did detect a threatening power, he knew it was not demonic qi. In fact, he was glad Kana had such a strange power. This way, he did not need to worry about Kana as much as he did before.
“Kana isn’t that great!” Nana was happy that Kana was able to stay in the sect without issue. In fact, if Kana was made to leave, herself and the others had already secretly agreed to follow Kana and leave the sect with her. They decided not to leave any friends behind. While Nana knew she would be leaving the Yi Tan and the others. It seemed they had really begun to separate besides Mei Ling, who was always left behind. When Nana thought of Mei Ling, she felt bad. She was always alone as of late. She decided she would bring Mei Ling with her if they ever needed to leave the sect.
Kana felt tears welling up in her eyes, knowing she was able to stay in the sect. She cupped her hands and bowed her head as she thanked Elder Ning. “Thank you, Elder Ning.”
“It’s fine. Go rest. I will stop in tomorrow so you can turn in your mission… You all have traveled a long way. Plus, there is someone waiting for you all to return.”
