Lin Ruoxi heard the noise and hurried over. She noticed Xue Rui had shifted positions—a sign he was about to wake up.

“Um, it’s Qiu Mengze,” Lin Ruoxi replied.

When Xue Rui heard it was Qiu Mengze, he said with a sigh of resignation, “Go ahead and answer. I’ve already ignored several of his calls.”

He hadn’t contacted Qiu Mengze much in the month since school started. Back then, he had been caught in a Chaotic Scene, busy and overwhelmed every day. Meanwhile, Qiu Mengze was always posting cringey captions and statuses and asking him what he thought of the accompanying pictures.

So, Xue Rui had simply set Qiu Mengze’s WeChat and QQ to “Do Not Disturb.”

“Just tell him I’m still asleep. Make up an excuse and get rid of him,” Xue Rui said with his eyes closed.

Today was the first day of him living with Lin Ruoxi and Gu Muxue. Although they slept in two beds with three blankets, after they got up, the three of them would have to sit alone at one table to eat.

He wanted to use this time to think carefully about how he was supposed to act at the dining table later.

Lin Ruoxi nodded obediently, swiped the screen to answer the call, and put the phone on speaker.

“Xue Rui, you can skip the games, I’m treating you to drinks tonight…”

He and Qin Tong had a fight a while ago and hadn’t contacted each other in a week. He wanted to treat Xue Rui to a meal and then ask Xue Rui and Gu Muxue to help him find out where Qin Tong was.
