Sister-in-law Wang saw Jiang Xue bringing meat over and was quite surprised. She said, “Jiang Xue, what are you doing?”

“Sister-in-law, I brought a bit too much meat, and we don’t have a refrigerator at home. I’m afraid it will spoil if we can’t finish it, so I’m giving you some to avoid waste.”

After hearing Jiang Xue’s words, Sister-in-law Wang understood. She wanted to refuse, but seeing the children’s eager expressions, she accepted it and then said, “Alright, I’ll take the meat. If you ever want vegetables, feel free to pick them from my garden.”

“Great, it’s settled then. Sister-in-law, don’t be too attached to them,” Jiang Xue said with a smile. If she could buy vegetables, she wouldn’t pick from Sister-in-law Wang’s garden. Saying this was just to prevent her from feeling burdened.

“Don’t worry, they won’t be,” Sister-in-law Wang laughed, quite fond of Jiang Xue’s personality. Honestly, she had lived in this community for three years and knew the temperament of every army spouse here. But someone as easy-going and generous as Jiang Xue was absolutely rare.

Therefore, she had an especially good impression of Jiang Xue and was willing to help her out.

After delivering the meat, Jiang Xue returned home and began preparing dinner. Today, she had not only brought meat but also picked up a fish and a chicken. Fortunately, the weather wasn’t too hot, and with cold water, the meat could be preserved for a day.

Besides, if necessary, she could store the meat in her space.

Otherwise, without a refrigerator here, the meat wouldn’t last a day.

Apart from the meat she gave Sister-in-law Wang, Jiang Xue used her meat to make a soup, roasted a fish, and fried two vegetables.

However, she hadn’t anticipated Mu Qiancheng coming back that evening followed by Gong Bei. She had originally cooked for just two people; Mu Qiancheng ate a lot, so she cooked more, but for three people it was a bit insufficient.

Seeing this situation, Jiang Xue had to fry the chicken quickly, but she didn’t cook more rice. Even if she did, there wasn’t enough time. Luckily, Mu Qiancheng foresaw this and brought back some rice from the cafeteria.

Once Jiang Xue finished, the three sat down to eat dinner. Gong Bei claimed he was here to see Little Reunion, but he was just here for a free meal.

After eating, he wiped his mouth and left, claiming he was giving Mu Qiancheng and Jiang Xue some alone time.

If he truly meant what he said, he shouldn’t have come along in the first place. After sending Gong Bei off, Mu Qiancheng tidied up the dishes.

Jiang Xue accompanied Little Reunion in the living room to play while Mu Qiancheng washed the dishes. Then the couple spent time together with Little Reunion.

Because they came on short notice, there were no toys here for Little Reunion. Fortunately, Jiang Xue had previously put plenty in her space, so there were things for Little Reunion to play with.

After playing with Little Reunion for a while, Mu Qiancheng started to care for Jiang Xue, asking, “Xue’er, what did you do this afternoon? Did you go out with Sister-in-law Wang?”

“I did, we walked around the nearby vegetable market. I’m going to buy vegetables with Sister-in-law Wang tomorrow morning.”

“Alright, if you ever have any questions, just ask Sister-in-law Wang, she’s really nice.”

“Got it!” Jiang Xue nodded. Actually, she could have Huo Cong deliver vegetables daily, but later she thought it would be too troublesome and decided to buy them nearby. This way, she could better integrate with the other wives.

Having lived through two lifetimes, although she had always married Mu Qiancheng, becoming a military spouse was still a first. For Jiang Xue, it brought a sense of newness.
