Rebirth: I have Monopoly System
Chapter 366 - 341: As a Bodyguard, Having an AK Is Not Too Much, Is It?
Wu Yun nodded, gesturing for the men to hurry up and choose their accessories.
The men immediately gathered around and, following their personal preferences, quickly selected their attachments.
Hawkeye and Poison Thorn, as rear support, naturally chose designated marksman setups. Wei Wu and the other two, as the assault team, added infrared lasers and also purchased versatile equipment like 4x scopes and holographic sights.
"Alright, gentlemen! What other toys do you need? If it’s on the market, we’ve got it here!" Blacksmith clapped his hands, directing everyone to place their chosen gear on the large stainless steel table in the center.
Hawkeye pulled out a sheet of notebook paper and said, "Blacksmith, since we’re not using AKs, let’s swap the RPK for an M249 SAW. That way the ammo will be standardized. We’ll need at least 3,000 rounds of 5.56."
"Two Remington Model 870 Shotguns. A hundred rounds of various shell types."
Following Hawkeye’s instructions, Blacksmith retrieved the specified firearms, placed them on the table, and waited for the next order.
"One Barrett M82A1. One hundred rounds each of armor-piercing, armor-piercing incendiary, and tracer rounds. Two hundred rounds of standard ammo."
Blacksmith’s eyes widened, but he still turned and walked toward another small door.
A moment later, Blacksmith returned, carrying a long, rectangular, hard plastic case.
From the way Blacksmith carried the case slightly to his side, it was clear the box had some weight to it.
The case was placed gently on the table, making a soft thud.
CLICK. Blacksmith unfastened the latches on both sides and opened the case.
Poison Thorn came to the table, rubbing his hands together, and stared excitedly at the massive black weapon before him. In his eyes, at least, this anti-materiel rifle was the epitome of violent aesthetics.
The only minor flaw was that the rifle’s scope was detached from its body, which was a slight disappointment to Poison Thorn.
After an inspection, Poison Thorn gave the brand-new anti-materiel rifle his approval.
Next, the group chose five Beretta 92F pistols as sidearms, purchasing 500 rounds of 9mm Parabellum ammunition as well.
Wu Yun, feeling a hunter’s thrill, picked out a silver M1911 for himself.
Wu Yun noticed the envious look on Wang Hao’s face. Seeing his high loyalty, he said, "Wang Hao, go pick out a handgun for yourself. When we get to Texas, we’ll find a shooting range and have some fun."
"Yes, President Wu!" With a look of excitement, Wang Hao ran to the wall covered in handguns. After looking over the selection, he ultimately chose the world-famous Glock 17.
And so, another 100 rounds of 9mm Parabellum ammunition were added to the purchase.
"Is that all!?" Blacksmith asked, gesturing to the large pile of firearms on the table.
"Mr. Wu, we also have an HK416, a military-grade item we acquired through a special channel. I wonder if you might be interested in adding it to your collection!?"
Wu Yun’s interest was immediately piqued. Ever since acquiring the Master of Shooting skill, he had gained a certain understanding of the performance of all the world’s mainstream firearms.
The HK416 was essentially a redesigned M4A1, so it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call it an upgraded version of the M4A1.
"Just tell me the price," Wu Yun said nonchalantly.
Blacksmith chuckled. "The only thing on the open market is the civilian version, the MR556, and even the semi-automatic-only MR556 usually sells for over 4,000 US dollars."
"This one is a fully-kitted military version. On account of Sam wanting to make a friend of you, we’ll let it go for just ten thousand dollars!"
Seeing Hawkeye about to roar, Blacksmith quickly explained, "Not long ago, a fully accessorized HK416 sold for the sky-high price of twenty thousand US dollars on the Canadian gun market! It cost Sam close to ten thousand dollars just to get his hands on this one! To make a friend of you, he’s really putting out his best stuff!"
As he spoke, Blacksmith even took out his phone and searched for the news article about that sale.
"Fine! Bring it out and let me see it. If I like what I see, I’ll buy it!"
Wu Yun didn’t haggle. He knew that for people like Sam, the cost of acquiring an HK416 wasn’t nearly as high as Blacksmith claimed.
After Blacksmith pulled out the case containing the HK416 and opened it, Wu Yun instantly fell in love with the real-life version of the gun he used most often in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
Hawkeye seemed to have forgotten the rifle’s price, standing to the side and clucking his tongue in appreciation. "The presentation is a lot prettier than what we had when I was in the service!"
"Alright! Wrap it up for me, and grab me some ammo while you’re at it!"
Wu Yun thought for a moment. ’Since I’m spending money anyway, I might as well fully equip the bodyguards.’ So he asked, "Do you have body armor, tactical vests, night vision goggles, and personal radios?"
"Boss! Are you gearing us up to assault a fortress?" Hawkeye joked.
Wu Yun shook his head. "Better to be safe than sorry. It won’t cost that much anyway."
Hawkeye was a little speechless. ’Only a ridiculously rich boss would dare say something like that.’
Wei Wu said with some concern, "Boss, we’re buying so much stuff. We won’t be able to get it on the plane, and checking it will be a problem too. Besides, once we leave the United States, won’t all this be a waste?"
Because Wei Wu was speaking Huaxia, Blacksmith didn’t understand. He turned to Hawkeye and asked what they were saying.
After getting the gist, Blacksmith smiled and said, "You don’t need to worry about that. We can also provide a paid shipping service and a free storage service!"
Blacksmith continued, "What type of body armor are you looking for? For night vision, we only have one model—it’s night vision only, no thermal imaging. It’s the most widely used NVD in the US military and requires a compatible multi-function helmet."
Wu Yun said to his bodyguards, "Choose for yourselves. Everyone get one set of light armor, the kind you can wear under a jacket, and one set of heavy armor!"
Hearing Wu Yun’s request, Blacksmith chuckled and pulled a stack of thin, black, bulletproof vests from a cabinet.
"Here! This is what you’re looking for! Huaxia-made, meets United States Level II body armor standards. Made from high-strength Kevlar fiber, it can stop 9mm Parabellum full metal jacket rounds, .357 Magnum soft points, and pistol rounds fired from long-barreled handguns or short-barreled submachine guns."
Wu Yun felt the body armor. The material was soft, light, and thin.
Wu Yun immediately had Wei Wu and the others find their sizes and put them on. Once they put their jackets back on, the armor was virtually invisible from the outside.
Blacksmith complained, "The cost-effectiveness of this Level II armor is just touching! It can only stop submachine gun rounds, yet it sells for more than Level IV armor!"
"Oh? What’s the price on these?" Wu Yun asked curiously.
"US$ 2,000 a piece. I’m selling them to you at cost! Just consider it me clearing out some inventory! The gangs in Los Angeles who could use it can’t afford it, and the people who can afford it don’t buy from me! It’s been dead stock on my hands!" Blacksmith said, frustrated.
"Boss, that is actually a pretty good price," Hawkeye chimed in from the side. He then did a couple of small jumps in place to feel the quality of the armor.
"As for higher-level body armor, you just need to add Level III armor plates to your tactical vests! When you need it, you just throw it on!"
Saying this, Blacksmith pulled several tactical vests from the cabinet, along with a few armor plates with letters printed on them.
After inserting two thick armor plates into a tactical vest, Blacksmith hefted it in his hand and said, "Huaxia-made tactical vest and Level III armor plates. You can trust them. These are all combat-proven products. They can absolutely stop an AK-47 at close range!"
"Of course, I can’t guarantee you won’t get a broken rib, but I can guarantee it’ll save your life! Vest, plates, and a helmet for 500 US dollars!" Blacksmith said, giving them a look that said ’you’re getting a steal’.
Next, Blacksmith brought out five sets of night vision goggles and five personal comms units.
"These personal comms units are military surplus, after all, so I can’t guarantee they aren’t being monitored. But as long as you’re not discovered in the short term, you should be fine!"
Although Blacksmith had the ’blacksmith’ sideline, he was, at heart, a small-time arms dealer. So he made another sales pitch, "Hawkeye, I’ve also got two bulletproof briefcases here. They unfold into a ballistic shield, Level III protection! You want ’em?"
