RE: LORD OF TIME

Chapter 190: A Walking Disaster Who Has Nothing To Lose

  • Next Chapter

"My Lord," A man wearing a butler’s uniform walked over to Carman, handing a storage ring to him.

"My Lord, if we give all of these things to her, it will be difficult for us to maintain the family’s operations for the next few months," The butler spoke in a low voice.

Carman looked inside the storage ring and seeing a large pile of gold coins along with many treasure orbs and some rare pills and potions, he felt his heart bleeding.

"If we don’t give it to her, then what are we supposed to do..." Carman stopped looking at the items in the ring and sighed. "If we don’t give her what she is demanding, she will wipe out every single one of us."

The butler hesitated for a moment before gathering enough courage to ask.

"My Lord, who is that woman? Even if she is powerful, would she really dare to kill us despite knowing the consequences of killing an entire noble family?"

Carman glanced at his house butler from the corner of his eyes and asked in a faint voice.

"Do you know this place wasn’t called the Silver Wing Kingdom a few hundred years ago, and the family who ruled over this place wasn’t the current Royal Family?"

The butler nodded at Carman’s words.

"I have read a few things about it. But after the current Royal Family took over the kingdom, the records about the previous royal family and the kingdom were erased, so there isn’t much information available."

As the butler spoke, he couldn’t help but feel confused, as he didn’t understand why Carman was talking about this long-forgotten matter.

Carman tore his gaze away from the butler and looked into the distance with a trace of fear in his eyes.

"Do you know how the previous Royal Family disappeared?"

The butler shook his head at Carman’s question. But suddenly, he thought of something, and his pupils contracted.

"My Lord, could it be that the fall of the last Royal Family is related to that woman?"

Carman took a deep breath and shook his head.

"Not entirely, but it’s connected," He spoke in a serious voice. "Just know that even if she killed all of us, even the Royal Family might not do anything because this woman is simply lawless. If the Royal Family tries to deal with her, they might succeed, but the price they would have to pay is not something they can bear."

The butler felt a chill run down his spine and broke out in a cold sweat.

Although Carman didn’t say it outright, he understood his meaning.

’Even if that woman killed us, the Royal Family is not going to do anything because we are simply not worth that much.’

A dazed look couldn’t help but flash in the butler’s eyes.

As a trusted person of Carman, he had a lot of power in his hands and had always been the one who controlled other people’s lives.

But it was the first time he was facing a situation like this, where his life was being controlled by another person.

’Father was right. A high status gives power to control the fate of weak people. But if a person wants to control their own fate, other than status, they need true strength as well.’

The butler looked at Carman with a complicated look and noticed that his back was slightly hunched.

Other people might not know, but as the house butler and Carman’s most trusted subordinate, he knew Carman’s own strength was not weak.

In fact, he was even stronger than Elias himself. But in front of that woman, he was forced onto his knees without her actively doing anything.

’Just what is the level of that woman?’ The butler muttered inwardly and suddenly thought of something.

"My Lord, can’t we ask for help from those people? Maybe they can help us deal with her?"

Carman’s expression changed when he heard the butler’s words, and he looked at him with murderous eyes.

"Keep your mouth shut," He spoke in an ice-cold voice. "Didn’t I tell you not to mention anything about them?"

The butler felt the killing intent coming from Carman and immediately knelt on the ground.

"Please forgive me, My Lord. It was my mistake."

Carman stared at the kneeling butler coldly before withdrawing his gaze.

"Let’s go. The sooner we send her away, the sooner we can deal with other matters."

As he spoke, Carman walked toward the exit of his treasury.

’A walking disaster who has nothing to lose is something that no one is willing to provoke...’ Carman muttered as he thought about the reason why Vivian came here. ’But that might not be the case in the future, as that disaster is now getting closer to someone.’

Soon, Carman and the butler returned to the living room of the mansion and saw that everyone was still kneeling on the ground, unable to lift even their heads.

Vivian sat on the sofa with a bored look on her face, waiting for them.

Seeing them coming, she glanced at them, and the storage ring in Carman’s hand flew toward her on its own.

Carman didn’t try to stop it and spoke respectfully.

"Lady Vivian, everything that you asked for is inside the ring."

Vivian caught the ring, and her soul sense swept over it, checking everything inside in just a second.

Seeing the pile of gold and many other resources, her lips curled upward slightly.

’I really am a resourceful wife...’ She praised herself before standing up.

"Good. Don’t forget to deliver my message to the other noble families," She said and turned around to leave.

Suddenly, she stopped and glanced at them over her shoulder.

"Also, there will be no second time. If you try to harm my husband again, you can forget about staying alive."

Carman shuddered at her cold words and immediately nodded.

Vivian did not say anything and disappeared from there.

Her figure appeared outside the mansion, and she glanced back with gleaming eyes.

"What an interesting doghouse. To think even my soul sense can’t see what’s inside the basement..." She murmured with a faint smile before her figure disappeared.
