Chapter 183: Combat Class (Part 1)

Just before they reached the academy, William remembered another thing and took out a crystal ball from his storage ring.

"Liam, try it."

Liam looked at the round ball and raised an eyebrow in surprise.

"Energy Crystal?" He asked in confusion. "You want to test my Aether Affinity?"

"Hmmm..." William nodded. "See if it has changed after you received your bloodline."

Liam took the crystal from William’s hand, and soon, it began to glow.

William watched the glowing crystal carefully, and his eyes narrowed when the crystal reached bright purple, indicating top-level Excellent Grade Affinity.

Previously, Liam’s Affinity was around middle-level Excellent Grade, so when Liam saw his Affinity had increased, a look of joy appeared on his face.

But he was soon dumbfounded because the crystal turned red, indicating Perfect Grade Affinity, and the red glow was continuously increasing.

Soon, it turned bright red, indicating top-level Perfect Grade Affinity, before the Energy Crystal stopped glowing.

"Perfect Grade..." Liam muttered in a shocked voice. "Now I have top-level Perfect Grade Aether Affinity."

William was silent after seeing Liam’s Affinity. The level of Liam’s bloodline was lower than his, but his Aether Affinity reached top-level Perfect Grade, while his had barely stepped into Perfect Grade.

’As I thought, there is definitely something wrong with my Aether Affinity...’ He muttered inwardly before taking a deep breath.

He took back the Energy Crystal from Liam and spoke calmly.

"With your current Aether Affinity, it shouldn’t be difficult for you to break through to Star Commander level in a short time. Just spend some more time increasing your control over Aether Energy." ℯℯ𝑙.

"Hmmm." Liam nodded, as he was planning the same.

Then he asked curiously.

"Since my Affinity is already at the top of Perfect Grade after receiving an Apex Grade Bloodline, doesn’t it mean your Affinity is already Transcendent Grade since your bloodline level is even higher than mine?"

William’s mouth twitched at Liam’s question, and he felt this guy was rubbing salt into his wound.

He glanced at him and spoke flatly.

"Yeah, my Affinity is Transcendent Grade. So don’t get complacent just because you have Perfect Grade Affinity."

There was no way he was letting this guy know his affinity was barely Perfect Grade.

Anyway, other than Vivian, no one knew about his Affinity, so there was no problem if he bragged a little.

Liam showed an expression that said ’As Expected’ upon hearing William had Transcendent Grade Affinity.

’No wonder his level increased so quickly.’

A hint of anticipation couldn’t help but appear in Liam’s eyes as he thought about his own cultivation speed from now on.

’Even if I can’t catch up to him, it shouldn’t be a problem to catch up with those nobles in our class.’

Soon, the carriage stopped outside the academy. Liam and William left the carriage and headed straight towards the battle arena.

Because today was combat class, it would be held in the battle arena.

"By the way, can I use the spear arts that I learned from the bloodline memories during the class?" Liam suddenly asked.

"Why not?" William shrugged. "Use them as you please."

Liam frowned slightly at William’s words.

"But if I use those spear arts and Blood Lightning, it might expose that I am a vampire now."

William shook his head. "Don’t worry, no one can tell that they are your bloodline abilities simply by looking at them."

He paused before adding, "Even if someone asks you anything, just say they are special abilities of your cultivation technique. Anyways, most of the high-level cultivation techniques come with their own unique abilities."

"Cultivation Technique..." Liam nodded slightly at William’s words, as even the cultivation technique that William had given him provided different abilities at different levels.

"What about the source of the cultivation technique? What should I say if someone asks?"

"First of all, you don’t owe anyone anything, so there is no need for you to answer people’s questions just because they asked," William spoke seriously. "And if it’s someone whom you don’t want to refuse, like Alicia or Professor Norman, just say I was the one who gave you that technique."

’Anyway, Vivian is going to drum around the fact that we are married, so it’s not a problem for me to have some cultivation techniques.’

"OH!" Liam nodded upon hearing him and did not ask anything else.

Soon, the battle arena came into their view.

Although it was early morning, many students were still going in and out, as the battle arena was one of the most frequently used facilities of the academy.

Entering the battle arena, William and Liam didn’t stop in the outside arena where William had fought against Kevin.

Since it was a combat class for first-year students, it would be held in a private training area of the combat arena.

"We are quite early, so there shouldn’t be anyone present in the training area for now," William muttered as they got closer to the private training area.

"Hmmm..." Liam nodded and looked at him. "How about I show you some of the spear arts I learned while we wait for other people to come?"

"Sure." William nodded, as he was also curious to see what Liam had learned.

Soon, they reached the training area and entered.

However, to their surprise, someone was already inside the training area, and it was someone they knew very well.

"Alicia?" Liam spoke in surprise when he saw a girl in the training area.

Hearing the voice, Alicia quickly turned her head. And when she saw it was Liam and William, she hurriedly walked over to them.

"Where did both of you go?" She spoke in an urgent voice. "I went to look for you in your dormitory but did not find you there. Thinking you left for the training area earlier, I came here but did not find you here as well."

William and Liam exchanged glances upon hearing the urgency in her voice.

"What’s wrong?" William asked with a frown. "Did something happen?"

Alicia nodded and spoke seriously.

"It’s my brother. He told me to inform you of something."
