RE: LORD OF TIME
Chapter 181: A Petty Wife
"Benlot Family..." A look of surprise appeared on William’s face, and he frowned slightly. "Why would they come after me? I don’t think they know I was the one who killed Lucas, right?"
Vivian walked over and sat down on the bench beside him.
"They of course don’t know you were the one who killed Lucas," She said calmly as she looked back at the injured man on the ground. "But even if they don’t know, it doesn’t mean they can’t use this thing to their advantage to deal with you."
"Deal with me..." William’s eyes narrowed, and he immediately understood what Vivian was trying to say.
"It must be other noble families, right?" He asked in a low voice.
"Correct." Vivian nodded. "After what you did in the cafeteria, not only those young noble children, but even older nobles were dissatisfied with you. But even though they were dissatisfied, they couldn’t do anything because it was a conflict between students, so they decided to use a different method to deal with you."
William chuckled, and a cold gleam flashed in his eyes.
"So those nobles looked for my information, and after seeing that I came from Rosco Barony, where Lucas died, they asked the Benlot Family to deal with me."
"Yes." Vivian’s eyes also flashed with killing intent. "On the surface, the Benlot Family is sending people just to ask you a few questions, but it can be confirmed that they would put the blame for Lucas’s death on you in some way to deal with you."
"What load of bullshit." William sneered and looked at the injured man on the ground. "Who is he?"
"Someone from the Benlot Family," Vivian answered flatly. "While returning from Drizzling Pavillion earlier, I received news that someone from the Benlot Family was coming to the academy to take you away for investigation, so I just dealt with him."
"You did not have to do that," William said with a shake of his head. "If they wanted to take me away from the academy, they would first have to get permission from Duke Charles, and he wouldn’t have allowed that. Besides..." He paused before adding.
"I didn’t go through all those troubles to attract Professor Norman’s attention for no reason. Considering he decided to pass his family’s sword techniques to me, I am basically his disciple, and he would absolutely not allow me to be taken away by them."
"Those two people are just a bunch of old farts," Vivian spoke with a look of disdain. "Although Charles would have tried his best not to hand you over, if things escalated, he would undoubtedly choose the path that wouldn’t cause unrest in the academy. That would be to hand you over. As for Norman, although he is strong, his mentality is still that of a soldier of the kingdom, and as long as it’s an order from someone higher up, he wouldn’t dare to disobey it."
William smiled wryly at Vivian’s words and shook his head.
"You are right about what you said, but still... It was just the mere Benlot Family. Do you really think those two would care about them?"
Vivian’s lips curled upward slightly, and she asked in an amused voice.
"What if it’s not just the Benlot Family?"
"Hmm?" William showed a look of confusion at Vivian’s words.
Seeing his confusion, she did not say anything and handed him a letter.
William looked at the letter, and just after taking a look at it, his face darkened.
"Damn, it seems they are really pissed at me."
"Of course, they are," Vivian spoke with a faint smile. "If not, how could more than ten noble families have signed the letter to hand you over, including Duke Families like Stormvale and Ebonhart?"
William rubbed his eyebrows and looked at the injured man before him.
"What now?"
The faint smile on Vivian’s face slowly faded, and a chilling glint flashed in her eyes.
"These people are taking action against you simply because they still think you don’t have a proper background." As she spoke, a crimson glow flickered in her eyes. "Since that’s the case, then let’s just make them understand whom they are messing with. After all..." She leaned forward and lifted William’s chin.
"You are my husband! The husband of Vivian Bloodworth."
Looking at Vivian’s confident face up close, William’s heart couldn’t help but skip a beat.
’Whoa! Is this what people mean by a heartthrob?’ He shouted inwardly, feeling that the saying, ’Marry a five-year-older woman and she will bring prosperity, and marry a hundred-year-older vampire and she will bring immortality,’ was really true.
But William soon reined in his thoughts and frowned when he understood Vivian’s meaning.
"Are you going to tell everyone that we are related?"
Vivian saw his frown and spoke in dissatisfaction.
"What? You don’t want people to know you are already married so that you can go out and pick some young girls?"
William’s mouth twitched, and he spoke helplessly.
"You already know that’s not what I meant. I am just worried that it might affect you if you announce your relationship with me. After all, you don’t like all these noisy things."
"It’s not a bother," Vivian said with a smile. "In fact, I am quite eager to tell everyone that you belong to me and to stay away from you. Especially some random bitches that those nobles might try to send at you to lure you in with a honey trap."
"What honey trap..." William rolled his eyes. "Do you think I am someone who would be lured away by beauty?"
"Who knows..." Vivian shrugged. "I often hear men are creatures controlled by their lower brains."
William’s face darkened at Vivian’s words, but before he could say anything, she continued.
"But I think you are different..." She looked at him and flipped her hair. "You have such a beautiful diva as your wife, but you still haven’t laid a hand on her. You are really an innocent child."
"You..." William looked at her with a dark face. "Woman, if it wasn’t because this body of mine is still sixteen years old, I would have shown you who is a child."
"Heh... I am so afraid." Vivian made a face that was asking for a beating before she laughed and stood up. "You go to sleep. I am going to handle those nobles."
William looked at Vivian with a helpless look and shook his head.
"What are you planning to do?"
Vivian waved her hand, and a blood chain bound the unconscious man on the ground.
"Don’t worry, I am just going to give them a warning." As she spoke, her figure burst into a swarm of bats, and she disappeared along with the man.
"You should go to sleep. Little boys need to sleep on time to grow up."
William’s mouth twitched, and he sighed helplessly, knowing that she was teasing him because when she had asked him how he convinced Liam to accept the bloodline, he had called her a little girl and hadn’t told her anything.
’Sigh, what a petty wife I have.’
