Chapter 1638: You Can’t Go Back on Your Word

  • Next Chapter

Autumn York was satisfied with the answer from the two of them, but outwardly she showed a completely different attitude. She glanced at Alice Turner and Thomas Fisher separately and finally spoke with annoyance, "Let go of me, you two. What if someone sees us?"

"If someone sees, so be it. We’re holding our own mom, not someone else’s mom." Alice Turner maintained a friendly and patient attitude throughout, raising her eyes to meet Thomas Fisher’s gaze on the other side, "Honey! I’m right, aren’t I?"

She uttered the word "honey" very naturally, perhaps without even realizing it herself.

Honey?!

Thomas Fisher seemed to be electrified, his eyes widened as he stared dumbfounded at Alice Turner, or more accurately, at her red lips.

"How pathetic!"

So excited over just one word "honey"!

Autumn York turned her head to disdainfully criticize her son. How had she raised such a pathetic son? Could she shove him back in and reshape him?

Upon hearing his own mom call him pathetic, Thomas Fisher snapped back to reality, glanced at his mom, and quickly shifted his gaze back to Alice Turner, "Wife! Whatever you say is right."

Autumn York felt exasperated, the son she painstakingly raised was force-feeding her dog food and simultaneously stabbing her heart.

If the wife is always right, then does that mean the mom is always wrong?

Sensing her mother-in-law’s displeasure, Alice Turner gestured silently to Thomas Fisher to remind him that Autumn York was upset.

Following Alice Turner’s gaze, Thomas Fisher looked at his mom, and indeed, saw her face darkened. He immediately understood why she was like this.

"Mom! Hurry and check on your husband, he drank a lot today." With his mom jealous, he had to make a joke out of his dad.

"You’re such a jokester."

Just as Autumn York finished speaking, she felt the two people holding her let go. She turned her head to glance at both of them and then strode into the house.

Alice Turner instinctively followed, but just as she lifted her foot, Thomas Fisher reached out to pull her back. In her moment of surprise, he drew her into his embrace.

"What are you doing?"

She instinctively struggled, but as always, she couldn’t escape his embrace.

"Shouldn’t you come back to our little home with me later?" The man whispered mischievously into her ear.

"You said we’d live together after we got married, and it’s only been a few days. Did you already forget?"

Alice Turner knew exactly what Thomas Fisher truly meant, but since they weren’t married yet, she couldn’t go home with him.

Thomas Fisher took out the Marriage Certificate he had just obtained that afternoon, opened one of the books to show Alice Turner, "We’re legally married now. We just got the certificate this afternoon. Did you forget already?"

He waved the Marriage Certificate in front of her eyes.

"But..."

"No buts, you promised me yourself. Once we’re married, we live together. We got the certificate today, so we are married. You can’t back out."

Alice Turner meant marriage in the sense of having a wedding ceremony, but to Thomas Fisher, he believed getting the certificate meant they were married.

He wasn’t wrong either; getting the Marriage Certificate made them legal spouses, and whatever intimate activities they engaged in were legitimate and lawful.
