Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap
Chapter 1540: Annoying
This place is already under surveillance. If Anthony just walks out like this, he’ll be recognized in a second and there’s no way he won’t get tailed all the way.
Even though he has the ability and determination to fight back, they still haven’t figured out the exact situation with those people hiding in the dark.
Alice Turner has to be extra, extra careful if she wants to make sure Anthony stays safe; she can’t afford to be careless.
Alice got up and walked out of her room to borrow a set of clothes from Grace Young. When she came back, she handed Anthony the clothes she’d borrowed from Grace.
"Hurry up and go change in the bathroom."
After shoving the clothes into his arms, she smoothly pulled him up and pushed him into the bathroom.
"What’s with that woman? Why is she trying to kill him?" Alice had just pushed Anthony into the bathroom and sat back down on the sofa when Thomas Fisher grabbed her and asked solemnly.
Hearing that, Alice let out a sigh. "That woman was sent by his family."
There’s no shortage of grudges and feuds in rich families—that’s no lie.
"Good thing my family’s simple, otherwise I’d be facing the same kind of danger as him." Thomas Fisher wasn’t gloating at all; he was just voicing how he felt.
Power plays, vicious infighting, schemes and calculations among family members—those are everyday things. He hasn’t personally gone through it, but he’s seen plenty.
Every time he saw that kind of thing, he’d feel a pang of emotion, thinking about how he’s the only child in his family, not even an older or younger sister, and that he’s the sole heir to the family business.
That’s not because his mom was farsighted or anything, but because when she was young she was busy building her career and simply didn’t have the free time to have kids.
He, this only child, was brought into the world purely under his grandmother’s pressure. Otherwise his mom wouldn’t have had even one child.
Alice reached out and pinched him, glaring. "What nonsense are you spouting? Who goes around trying to take on this kind of getting-killed danger for themselves?"
"Hehe! I was just talking, don’t take it seriously." Even after getting pinched, Thomas Fisher wasn’t angry at all; instead he grinned happily. He leaned over and kissed her. "It’s so great having you by my side."
Now that she’s with him every day, he really is very happy. As long as she’s here, he feels content and blessed just sitting like this.
"Good that you know it. Remember to treat me better from now on, or I’ll kick you straight into the Pacific Ocean." Alice’s words sounded harsh, but her face was lit up with a joyful smile, and the way she looked at him was full of tenderness and affection.
Thomas Fisher gripped her hand tightly, the corners of his lips lifting. "Then I’ll just grab onto you and drag you into the Pacific Ocean with me."
No matter where she goes in the future, he’ll stay by her side. He’s already tasted all the bitterness over these five years; he refuses to go through that again.
"You’re impossible!" Alice teased him, scolding with a playful smile.
Thomas Fisher was just about to say something back when the bathroom door opened and Anthony walked out.
If he didn’t already know Anthony was a bona fide woman, Thomas would definitely think he was looking at a ladyboy—one of those especially seductive ones.
Alice had been worried that Anthony, who’d always presented himself in men’s clothing, wouldn’t be used to wearing a skirt, so she specially borrowed a pants outfit from Grace Young for him. But even in the most ordinary pants, Anthony somehow managed to look downright sultry.
Yes! Sultry!
Even as a woman, she was stunned. If it were a man seeing this, wouldn’t he just...
Thinking that, Alice instinctively turned to look at Thomas Fisher.
