Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 834: Abandoned Mountain [Bonus]

Chapter 834: Abandoned Mountain [Bonus]

[Grand Hall – Inner Sect]

Words that Kent had picked, the abandoned mountain as his cultivation peak, spread like wildfire, even finding its way to the core disciples.

The elders, regardless of their take on Kent’s recent performance, were all taken aback.

“Just what was he thinking by picking that place as his cultivation peak?” Elder Mikko asked, sitting in the Grand Hall with the other elders and Grand Elder Esper.

“You are asking the wrong people, Elder Mikko. Why don’t you direct this question to Kent himself? I am sure we all need to know why he chose that place.”

Elder Mikko glared at the elder who spoke, but she didn’t say anything.

They all looked confused when the news of Kent’s decision reached them.

“What did Lady Enzi say about his decision?”

“She said nothing. Right after she chose that half-elf as her disciple, she went back to her dwelling and hasn’t come out yet.

Old Sword is also in seclusion, and as the only two people to have interacted with Kent the most, none of us know what to do.”

“This is just too much. We have to do something before the sect leader finds out we have allowed such a promising disciple to pick such a place as his cultivation peak.”

While the elders were trying to understand Kent’s decision, the disciples were also having a difficult time adapting to Kent’s sudden decision.

“I was looking forward to seeing him at the Flame Peak and perhaps getting some pointers from him, but now that he has picked such a place, my wishes won’t come true.” A disciple said with a frown and a beaten expression.

“I heard rumors that something dark is hidden within that mountain.” Another disciple said.

As usual, the disciples will add a unique twist to their words to make them sound more believable.

“Why are you complaining? I say this is good for us. With him out of the way, we will have a chance to compete for more resources. Imagine Kent joining the Flame Peak; he would have won all the resources from us.”

“That is indeed true. This is for the best.”

“Idiots. You and I both know that one Cultivation Peak can challenge another for resources. What if he challenges us? Imagine how much he will be making off our defeat.”

“Oh, come on, Mark, you are making it sound like he alone can defeat a thousand of us.”

“And you think he can’t? He had just defeated 100 of our finest, and that all happened in under an hour, all 100 of them defeated in under an hour. If that doesn’t say enough, then I don’t know what would.”

“Shit, I forgot about that.”

[Base of the Abandoned Mountain – Inner Sect]

While talks about Kent continued to spread everywhere, the man in question was now standing at the base of the abandoned mountain, looking up at the looming peak before him.

He could fly up, but Kent wanted to climb and see what kind of place he had chosen to spend the next few months at.

Of course, to many, what Kent had done was stupid. However, Kent made this decision for his own good.

First, he wanted to be able to slip in and out of the tower without prying eyes everywhere.

Although his plans to live the sect life were now taking shape, he also knew he had to continue training, and the only way to speed up the process was to use the tower, where time runs much faster.

So, while entering the tower for just a month would be equivalent to almost two years on the outside, he didn’t want people to notice his absence easily.

The second was a feeling he got from the mountain the moment he saw it.

It was strange and familiar in a way.

It was like he had sensed it before, and that was why he chose the abandoned mountain as his cultivation peak to investigate this feeling.

“Now standing here, I can sense it even more. I wonder what will make me this giddy.”

To Kent, the resources the sect was offering could be obtained from the tower at a much cheaper rate, but the feeling couldn’t be bought.

So he was chasing after it.

He moved and started climbing.

“Tower, be sure to keep scanning and immediately prompt when you find something good.”

⟦I will master⟧

Thus, Kent slowly started ascending the mountain.

He knew all this might pan out to be a giant waste of time, but he knew if he didn’t follow his feelings, he wouldn’t be able to rest, so he was steadily looking toward the main goal instead of the instant when he might come out looking like an idiot.

Four hours later, Kent was only 25% up the mountain.

The feeling was still there, so he wasn’t turning back.

His pal, the tower, was also scanning, giving him all the changes it was sensing.

After another four hours, Kent stopped and sat on a stone overlooking the vast and beautiful land that stretched far into the distance.

“This place is indeed beautiful. I will borrow some of their designs and incorporate them into my tower.” Having a few towering mountains isn’t bad at all.

⟦The master shouldn’t worry. I have a complete architecture of the sect ready. With a few tweaks, you can implement it⟧

“You are the best, Tower,” Kent smiled and remained on the stone for a couple of minutes before resuming the climb.

A few hours later, something new changed, and both Kent and the tower sensed it.

“That is a sword energy.”

⟦There is sword energy in the air, master. Though faint, I can sense it⟧

“I do too, Tower, and it leads up the mountain. I’d better hurry up.” Thus, Kent started climbing up the mountain much faster this time.

The change in the air was enough to tell him he wasn’t wasting his time. However, regardless of what he thought, he first needed to identify the root cause of the situation before he could make a decision.

Barely under 45 minutes, Kent was deep into the clouds, nearing the peak of the mountain. He could still sense the sword energy, but while he expected to feel a more concentrated form of it as he drew close to the source, nothing changed.

So Kent couldn’t get close to it any faster.

Eventually, he arrived at the peak of the mountain, which, from what greeted him, was a plain field of dried grass. It was vast, but aside from a large flat stone standing at the center of it, there was nothing else.

The only saving grace was that, along the mountain, there were some caves, and from what the tower managed to gather from them, a few still had functional cultivation formations.

So he knew he could use them.

However, with all the rushing and nearly falling a few times, he was only greeted by a large stone.

“I guess the elder was right, there is only stone waiting for me here.”

Kent moved closer, and while he was praying in his head for the stone to be some treasure that the sect had never known, upon getting close, he saw it was just an ordinary stone.

“Well, what was I expecting anyway?” Kent chuckled, tapping the surface of the stone.

⟦There are markings on it, master, and they seem to be the source of the sword energy.⟧

“You can analyse the markings, Tower, but I am sure these markings were left by a swordsman who was frustrated like I am now.”

⟦I will analyse it anyways⟧
