Chapter 833: Selecting A Cultivation Peak

Chapter 833: Selecting A Cultivation Peak

“I can’t believe we have become Inner disciples within 14 days of joining the sect,” Norion said, sitting in a flying treasure as they were taken to the Inner section of the sect.

“I expected to stay in the outer sect for at least two years, but this is indeed unexpected.” Arion seconded Norion’s words.

None of them indeed expected things to work out this way. However, the dreams they held in their hearts were fulfilled at a relatively fast pace.

Of course, it’s all thanks to Kent, whose challenge has paved the way for them.

Kent was seated on the side, growing annoyed by Nyss, who had been bothering him for the past two days to spar with her.

Kent, of course, rejected all the attempts she made, and because she didn’t have enough Supreme Points to challenge him officially, she could only pester him.

“Big brother, you really are wicked. I even offered to cook for you for a single spar, but you rejected it. Do you know how many would beg me to offer them half of what I offered you?”

Kent looked at her and smirked, “I am not going to spar with you, so stop bothering me.”

“Why, are you scared?” Nyss asked.

“Yes. I am scared for my life, so I won’t accept your challenge,” Kent said with a slight chuckle at the end.

Nyss pouted, acting spoiled.

After Kent broke the seal on her body, she became even more powerful, surpassing even the other two geniuses. However, even so, she is still not at a level worthy of challenging a monster like Kent.

“The moment I get enough Supreme Points, I will challenge you… officially. You won’t be able to reject me then.”

“I will reject you and pay the fine. Remember, I have 500,000 Supreme Points and I plan on using them to ensure your wishes never come through.”

“You…”

Kent laughed.

Teasing Nyss has become something he seems to enjoy these days, so he was making sure he teased her to his heart’s content.

It took a couple of minutes, but eventually, they arrived at the Inner Sect.

The first thing they saw was a series of towering mountains, about eight of them positioned strategically. Each mountain is bigger and taller.

Gazing at them, Kent could sense some powerful presence atop every last mountain. This presence doesn’t pale in comparison to Lady Enzi or Old Sword.

He also sensed some natural phenomena happening on the mountains. On one mountain, he sensed infernal energy radiating off it.

On the other mountain, he sensed lightning, and on the third mountain, he sensed the feeling of ice.

As they slowly moved, Kent paid more attention to the mountains. He counted eight, and after moving several hundred miles, he spotted another.

However, this one didn’t have any natural energy radiating off it. It stood tall, half of it broken, and there was no powerful presence located there.

It was just a normal mountain.

This caught Kent’s attention, so he continued to observe it. After a while, they finally came to a stop in front of an ample space with nothing but stone everywhere.

He looked up and saw that they had arrived at the center of the Inner Sect, where several disciples could be seen going about their daily business.

The place was so large that Kent’s senses couldn’t cover even half of it.

He tried, but he just couldn’t.

However, he counted many smaller training grounds, several stores, and many more amenities that he found fascinating.

“This place is cool,” Kent said.

Watching the Inner disciples fly about, some on cloud horses and others on various mounts, his eyes lit up. The sect dream was all over him now, and he most certainly wanted to live it.

“Welcome to the inner section of the Supreme Immortal Sect,” the elder who came for them said, allowing them to take in his words.

“You are currently in the Mutual Space, where all disciples from the various cultivation peaks come to interact with each other.

I know some of you have already managed to pick up a few things, but to those who haven’t, look closely at the badges on the chest of the disciples.”

They looked, and indeed, the badges were different. One had flames in them, some lightning, and others ice.

“That’s right. The Peaks are, namely, Flame Peak, Lightning Peak, Ice Peak, Water Peak, Earth Peak, Light Peak, Darkness Peak, and Wind Peak.

They are named after the eight natural elements. Now, I know most of you are wondering, do I have to join the Peak I have affinity with?

The answer is no. Joining any cultivation Peak is acceptable, as most of what happens there is determined by how resourceful you are.

If you are a swordsman and you have a flame element, you will be taught how to harness the flame into your swordsmanship.

All Peaks have departments for all forms of professions.

Of course, joining the Flame Peak means you will primarily deal with things related to flames. However, if you feel like your flame isn’t suited for the path you want to walk, you can switch peaks.

However, you have only a month to make that decision. Afterwards, you won’t be able to change it again.

Additionally, please note that resources are allocated based on your ranking on the Peak you choose, so it is always advisable to improve your ranking.

As to how to raise your ranking, you already know.

“Now, in that building is where you register your name as inner disciples and receive your welcome pack.” The elder pointed at a certain elegant building floating off the ground. He was about to move when Kent raised his hand.

“You can speak.”

“You only talked about the eight mountains. What about that one?” Kent pointed toward the ninth. Even after hearing all the elder had to say, he still wanted to know more about the ninth mountain.

“That is the Abandoned Mountain. It used to be a cultivation peak, but as its name suggests, it is abandoned and doesn’t have a master, so nobody has joined it since the last time I can remember.”

“So we can’t join that peak?” Kent asked again, but the elder shook his head.

“You can join it; however, nobody in their right mind will join such a peak. Nobody has joined that peak in the past 15 thousand years.”

“But they used to, correct?”

The elder nodded.

“I see. In any case, if one were to join, what privileges would they get?” Kent asked, and the elder looked at him with a calm gaze.

“Are you being serious?” he asked.

“Dead serious.”

“Let’s see. First, you will be alone there all day and all night. You will not have any elder to attend to your many questions that the other peaks have for every disciple.

You also won’t have any resources provided by the Peaks. Of course, sect resources will be given to you, and since the total number of disciples decides hw much resources a peak needs, don’t even think of getting anything valuable.

Essentially, if you join, you will lose access to a significant amount, so if you are considering it, it’s better not to. It will just be a waste of time.”

“I understand. And one last question: If that mountain has been abandoned, why keep it to this day after all this time?”

“There is nothing aside from a few stones and dried plants. You can ask the sect master why it hasn’t been destroyed yet.”

With that, the elder led them to the building to register and pick a cultivation peak.

A few minutes later, the news spread all over the Inner Sect that Kent had chosen the Abandoned Mountain as his cultivation Peak.
