Chapter 1584 Tower's Upgrade + Big Reveal
[Skull City – 60 days later]
While barely 6 days had passed in the outside world, inside the Star Realm, 60 days had already passed.
It had also been 60 days since the Tower had entered upgrade mode.
After Kent had recovered his memories of the Ruthless Bandit, something within him started to awaken, prompting a sudden upgrade of the tower. While before entering the star gateway, the Tower had stolen some of the soul essence to undergo a partial upgrade, this time, things were different.
This upgrade differs from the previous ones because it wasn’t scheduled, unlike when the Tower said her complete upgrade after the partial one would happen when Kent ascends and becomes an immortal.
This upgrade had to do with something neither Kent nor the Tower had any idea of.
Even the cosmic beings keeping tabs on him had no idea where this upgrade came from.
All knew was that when this upgrade was done, the Tower would become something else entirely.
Kent may have become emotionless because his personality had turned evil after he absorbed the Ruthless Bandit’s memories, but even he was looking forward to when the Tower successfully completed her upgrade.
While he was waiting, he kept tabs on all of the Thal’Khangs, formerly known as Velkharians, who had seriously taken the offer he gave them. Every able-bodied man ventured into the Gate of Evil to try their luck and see if they could get the Mark of Evil and become a warrior under the Evil King.
It was their dream to become devoted followers of the evil king.
At first, Kent wore a sneer, since in his eyes, all of them were weaklings.
Recovering the Ruthless Bandit’s memories and turning him arrogant. Unfortunately, he is a dragon, so arrogance came naturally to him. Even so, adding the coldness of the Ruthless Bandit to that arrogance had worsened everything.
So he expected nothing from them.
However, despite his initial view of them, that changed on the 10th day when one of the first to enter the gate of evil succeeded.
His shock came when the first person succeeded; he felt a part of his power rise. It was a small rise, but it became more shocking as more people started to succeed in acquiring the Mark of Evil.
By the 40th day, over 700,000 out of the 3.5 million who entered had succeeded.
By then, Kent felt like he had become a monster in human clothing. Even now, more keep succeeding, and with every success, his strength increases.
He could only wait and see what happens after the Tower succeeds in her upgrade, and he finally assimilates his personality and fully integrates his strength before breaking through to the Immortal stage.
One thing, however, is certain: after this seclusion, Kent would have nothing to worry about when he goes against average Immortals. His current strength puts him against monsters that just dont make sense, like the demigod he would be facing soon.
Thankfully, 60 days later, the moment he had been waiting for came.
[Time Left for Tower Upgrade: 5 minutes]
Kent took a deep breath and waited. Eventually, the time came, and just when it did, he felt his mind go blank for a moment. Then, as if a dam had burst, unknown information started pouring into his mind.
In less than five seconds, Kent felt like his mind had expanded endlessly, yet every part of it was now filled with so much information he just couldn’t bring himself to comprehend.
He did, however, decipher some, and what he saw was just too mind-bending.
He saw how the tower was created.
Where she originated from.
Who created her?
These three pieces of information got him thinking about just what kind of existence the tower is. However, he never got the chance to think about it since, before he could digest it, something else entered his mind, causing him to blink a few times, shock riddling his face.
‘Origin of the True Primordials’
Kent tried to open this knowledge, but he was soon overwhelmed with other memories. It was like there was no shape to how the knowledge was coming. At one point, this would surface, like how to forge a dagger, and the next, how to swing a sword, would add to it.
But one thing was certain about all this, the knowledge he was receiving had nothing to do with his past lives, at least from what he had observed so far.
One could even say the knowledge came from the Universe itself, yet somehow, he could tell it also came from somewhere else.
One thing was certain, though: after this upgrade, he was going to have so much knowledge that even the Celestials at the Cult of Wisdom would appear like bugs before him.
—
[Three days later]
Three days later, Kent opened his eyes, a sigh escaping his lips.
Just when he did, he felt his soul sea stir.
He quickly sent his mind there, and what he saw when he appeared there made him shudder in fear. In fact, what he saw made him snap his eyes shut for a moment, hoping none of it was true. However, upon opening them, he felt his back break into a cold sweat.
There, standing on the Primal Blood Platform, is a cloaked figure dripping a true evil aura. Kent had seen the Ruthless Bandit several times in his memories, and when he met him before entering the Star Gateway.
However, he had not seen him as a Celestial clad in such a cloak before.
Today he did, and that terrified him. Because of the shock he was in, he failed to see the changes that had happened inside the first Blood Gate or the other changes.
“Well, well, looks like we have had quite the adventure of several lifetimes.” Turning slowly, Lex Morvana smiled at Kent.
“This was me the day I died and also the day I awakened true evil,” he added, the smile on his face showing genuine happiness, something Kent never knew he could do back when he was the Ruthless Bandit.
He had already seen all of Lex’s memories up to the point he was about to go into the last battle. He never got to see him awaken True Evil, so his shock was genuine as well.
“I am so happy right now.”
“Oh, why is that?” Kent asked.
“Because I have been thinking about something my entire life, but only now have I finally had an answer for it.” He paused and let a smile spill from the corner of his lips.
“Up until today, I have wondered why I was able to comprehend the True Dao of Evil and succeed when many failed. The laws of this universe prohibit the Dao of Evil from reaching the True stage. They fear that it would cause the universe to fracture and get out of hand, so they tried to kill me several times to stop me.
However, while the thrill of always being at the death’s edge of a weapon or spell sounded promising and felt enticing back then, I never truly understood their intention. Now, I can tell you that I only managed to cultivate it thanks to something we did in the past.”
Lex waved his hand, and a projection appeared before him. Inside the projection, Kent saw thirteen moons, each having a different color. They were arranged in a circle, and at the center rested a golden moon.
Threads from the other moons latched onto it.
“Look at the moon at the center; that is us in a complete form. In other words, the moon at the center is you, the current you in your complete form, and all 13 moons surrounding it are us.”
The projection zoomed in on two moons, one black, the other purple.
“The black moon is me, and the purple one, I believe you already know. Now, look closely and tell me what you see.”
Kent narrowed his eyes at the projection, and for a moment, he wondered what he was meant to see. Soon, however, he saw it, and that was when his expression changed.
“Impossible…”
Lex Morvana smiled. “Oh, but it is possible. You see, from the start, we have always been one incomplete entity. Somehow, we came about as the ultimate being yet an incomplete one, so we have to make ourselves complete.”
Kent stomped on the ground, and a chair formed from blood appeared, allowing him to sit for what Lex was about to say.
“I had always wondered why the universe just couldn’t kill me with its own hands but had to use others. They had already killed many threats in the past, so why couldn’t they touch me?
The answer, however, came from this Thirteen Moon Primal Diagram. I believe this universe is scared of us to the point that it couldn’t bring itself to do anything drastic.”
Lex paused and smiled before adding,
“I believe that somewhere out there, our main body, the one you would one day merge back with, is just too monstrous that even the universe doesn’t dare mess with us.”
He lifted his head back and let out a resounding laughter, the kind that came from the heart. Kent, however, felt his heart tremble for a moment, causing him to take several breaths.
“Relax, buddy, we have yet to unleash our true power. For now, it is time for you to awaken your true self by merging your evilness with your goodness. I will be on my way for now.
One day, when you are ready for the Key, we will meet again. By then, I expect you to comprehend [Absolute Evil] or even [Extreme Evil].”
The Ruthless Bandit left, and the blood sea surged. Kent sat there, his expression blank.
On the outside, the Tower fed him the [Realm Ascension Pill].
