Chapter 1400 Black Mission (1)
Chapter 1400 Black Mission (1)
Lani, Unity, and Adina quickly prepared and soon were ready to head to Planet Offin.
“Remember, the moment you manage to locate the place the Heaven’s
Daughter is being kept, Unity must handle the rescue. That is the most critical mission here,” Vexthra said, and Alina stepped forward and handed a talisman to Unity.
“This is a time array. It will slow down time for anyone other than you. The weaker they are, the more effect it will have on them.” She gave her another Talisman after she received the first one.
“This one will leave a mark on anyone you want transported to the tower, even if there is danger around. Since the tower connection doesn’t work in times of danger, I have this secondary fix for it.
When activated, I will feel it and pull whoever is marked into the tower. All you have to do is have the person within your line of sight or sensing range.”
She received the talisman and stored it away.
Alina smiled and moved to Lani and Adina and handed them the same talisman that would allow her to pull whoever she wanted into the tower.
“You three should be careful. This mission has so many unknown variables, so you must be on high alert.” They nodded. After sharing hugs, Lani retrieved the Death Note and activated the portal.
“We will be right back.”
With smiles on their faces, they walked into the portal and vanished from sight.
[Planet Offin – Dark Continent]
All three of them appeared in front of a small forest not too far from the capital city of the Dark Elves. The mission is the Dark Continent, so the portal took them there.
“Alright, get into my shadow,” Lani said, activating her skill, which turned Adina and Unity into shadows. They merged with her shadow. After making sure they are alright, she also transformed into a shadow and started moving toward the East.
The Dark Continent is the largest continent on Planet Offin. It has the largest population, too, which in a way makes them even more dangerous, considering almost 95% of the dark elf race are warriors.
They are a warrior race, so they mostly work toward making sure every last one of them becomes a warrior who can fight in times of war.
However, because of their number and daily activities, Lani knew getting into the dark city wouldn’t be too hard. There will be people she can use to enter.
30 minutes later, she arrived on a large road leading to what she assumed to be the dark city.
Recognizing this is what she wanted, she started moving in the direction of where the tracks led the most.
It is logical to assume that where the tracks led the most is the direction of the city, since in most cases, people go to cities and stay a few days or weeks before leaving. This means there wouldn’t be more tracks leading away from the city.
Most of the tracks will be people coming into the city. And knowing the dark city is the largest and most heavily populated city on Planet Offin, Lani came to the conclusion that she is moving in the right direction.
2 hours later, a carriage caught up to her.
Using the speed they were moving at to her advantage, she jumped into the shadow of the carriage and slowly climbed into the carriage, sneaking into the shadow of a True Immortal.
Inside the carriage was an Immortal King, one of the Dark Captains.
He serves directly under the Eastern Dark General, one of the five Generals of the Dark Elf race. He went on an errand for the Dark General and was rushing back to the city to report.
Inside the carriage with him were two True Immortal Dark Elves, one male and the other female.
“Captain, do you think the General would accept the proposal the Northern General has for him?” the female dark elf asked.
“I honestly don’t know. The Northern General had always been jealous of the Eastern General. Not that I blame him. Being a personal guard of Lord Gelen is an honour everyone would cherish.
Lord Gelen has been generous over the years, allowing the General to reach the Immortal Emperor stage and even form six immortal rings. So he is just jealous and hurt… that was why he made such ridiculous demands.”
“It is indeed a bit hurtful. I even heard Lord Gelen would start his hunt after tomorrow. If he succeeds in having fun, there is a chance he would allow the General to have some days off.
If I were the Northern General, I would be jealous too,” the male Dark Elf added, causing the Dark Captain to smile.
“Well, it is above our pay grade to think about something this important. We just have to report what we have been sent on. The rest will take care of itself.”
Lani remained quiet and hidden in the shadows, but she and the two ladies were hearing everything the three dark elves said.
From just the small things they heard, it became clear to them that there is an Immortal Emperor in the picture, and judging by how they spoke highly of him and the target she would have to kill, it was clear the bastard is heavily
protected.
“This changes nothing. We now have a way into the palace, so we follow the same plan, Lani’s voice entered Unity and Adina’s heads. ‘Unity will handle the rescue, while Adina and I will go in for the kill.
‘If things turn upside down, you two should leave. I still have something up my sleeve to get the job done.’
‘Rest assured, Lani. The moment I locate the Heavens Daughter, I will take her away before anything happens. And well, I also have a trump card up my sleeve, so don’t worry about me.’
30 minutes later, they arrived before a large city gate, which opened for them to enter the city. It was only normal for them to enter without inspection. Of course, even if they were to do so, unless they knew what they were looking for, they wouldn’t find Lani hidden in the shadow of one of the True Immortals.
It took them another 20 minutes to move through the streets of the city before arriving in front of another gate. Just like with the main gate, they were allowed
entry.
They moved for a couple of minutes before they arrived in front of a mansion. At the gate, four True Immortals stood at attention the moment they saw the
carriage pull up.
Inside the carriage, the Immortal King turned to his two subordinates. “Head toward the training ground. Since Lord Gelen will be hunting in a few days, you will have some free time to yourselves. Use it well, because after the hunt, we
will be heading to the border”
“Okay, Captain.”
They got down from the carriage, and they went their separate ways. The two True Immortals headed west, where the training grounds were, while the Dark Captain headed into the mansion.
Lani, of course, was hidden inside the shadow of the female True Immortal.
Along the way, they passed by many mansions. Lani kept her senses spread wide, making sure every last hint of a clue was captured.
After a few minutes, a new mansion came into sight. This time, Lani sensed how
the two True Immortals slowed down.
‘Gotcha. ‘Same here. I know where Heaven’s Daughter is being kept, Unity also spoke.
‘Where?’ Adina asked.
‘She is at the training ground.’
