Chapter 1401 Black Mission (2)
Chapter 1401 Black Mission (2)
None of the ladies expected to find their targets that easily. They expected to look much deeper and waste valuable time to find them.
But they did, and their next move would be to take steps toward achieving them.
Lani and Adina would head to the mansion to kill the dark heir while Unity went to the training ground to rescue the Heavens Daughter.
It was that simple.
However, they knew the hard part of the mission had just begun.
“Big sister was right, I can sense the Heaven’s Daughter. This means she is indeed the reincarnation of her twin sister,” Unity said.
“Good. You go do your thing. Just make sure you aren’t noticed, or even if they do notice you, it should be in the last second before you are gone. Use Alina’s talisman well,” Lani cautioned, and Unity nodded to her words.
“The same applies to you, too.”
After the two True Immortals admired the mansion for a few seconds, they left. The mansion isn’t that far from the training ground, so it took them 3 minutes to get to the training ground.
Just when they were about to enter, Lani jumped from the shadows and entered a shadow cast by a pillar.
“You are on your own now, Unity. Good luck.”
“We all need it,” Unity responded with a chuckle. She was now alone in the true immortal shadows and was led to the vast training ground. As they moved deeper into the training ground, her connection with Heaven’s Daughter started to deepen.
However, Unity wasn’t thrilled she had managed to locate the target she came to rescue. If anything, she started cursing her luck the deeper they headed into the training ground.
So far, she had seen over 40 Immortals, with half of them already at the True Immortal stage. And as they headed deeper, more Immortals could be seen. She didn’t know how she could rescue somebody under their nose.
So her mind started to spin, and as she moved deeper, the connection with Heaven’s Daughter also continued to strengthen.
A few minutes later, the two True Immortals whose shadow they rode into the city came to a stop in front of a small clearing. That was when Unity spotted her target, or targets.
Before her were 24 cages, each loaded with 10 individuals. The connection she felt was narrowed to the 2nd cage. She could even see the target clearly. However, she couldn’t materialize at that instant since she would be noticed. So she relaxed and started to watch the activities happening around her. The two True Immortals looked like they were enjoying the sight of pitiful souls crying and shaking from what would befall them soon.
Meanwhile, on the outside, Lani, with Adina still hidden in her shadow, started heading back to the mansion. Since the road was clear, they basically spent less than 2 minutes.
“Let’s scout first and see what we are dealing with,” Lani suggested, and Adina had no objections. They soon moved closer to the building, and while still in their shadow form, Lani circled around the mansion first.
“There are no guards stationed around the perimeter aside from the three True Immortals at the gate. I also only sense four people inside the mansion, one a True Immortal and the others Root Immortals. Looks like this Dark heir is not that protected.”
“Or heavily protected,” Adina said. “Why don’t we circle back again, but this time, let’s focus on the two mansions east and north of this one?”
Lani didn’t object and went ahead with Adina’s plan. After 30 minutes, they returned to the mansion where their target lived.
“I suppose you are right. The mansion to the cast has five Immortal Kings, same with the northern mansion. That is a bit disturbing. The slightest mistake and they would be upon us.”
“All the more reason to be careful. We can enter through the back and get a better layout of the mansion before making any moves.”
Lani headed to a window at the back. Making sure nobody was around, she jumped from the shadow of a tree and entered the shadow cast by the window.
The only time she risked exposing her location since the arrive in the Dark city was when she was out of the shadows. Just now, an Immortal King sensed something, so his senses swept through the mansion.
However, he found nothing. Even so, he continued to scan for a few minutes.
Luckily, a mouse came to Lani’s rescue when it suddenly jumped out the window. It failed to land on the ground since the Immortal King killed it just to be safe.
“That was close,” Adina said, taking a deep breath inside Lani’s shadow.
“Indeed. But now we know just how tight that poor bastard’s security is.” Lani made her way from the kitchen to the adjacent room, where she slowly moved in the direction of another room.
“Where are you going?” Adina asked. If anything, they should start looking for the room the Dark Heir lives in. However, aside from moving quickly, Lani
seemed to be going in the same direction.
“There is a room, a few rooms away. Just now, when the Immortal King scanned here, he excluded that room from his scan. I took advantage of the moment to connect with the shadows, and so when he excluded that room, I knew the target lived there.”
“That was impressive, but daring. How bold were you that he wouldn’t notice your senses in the shadows?”
“Stop looking down on me, Adina. I wasn’t known as the Silent Shadow in the past for nothing.”
“Sorry. I assumed since you are now known as the Joker, making such a bold move wouldn’t be merely a joke to you.”
Adina chuckled, a bit amused. Lani was the most daring person she had met based on what she had just done. Not many would be that daring to take advantage of an Immortal King, someone several realms above her.
However, she managed to find the location of the target they were after. Now, the only thing left was to infiltrate the room he was in and find a way to kill him without raising too much suspicion.
Slowly, they arrived at the direction of the room. It was airtight, as they expected. Of course, they were certain the target was inside the room.
However, there were no shadows leading in and out of the room. This meant that to enter the room, they had to be tangible. But the moment they became tangible, the Immortal King would notice and would make his move.
But since the Immortal King excluded the room in his scan, even if they became tangible, they wouldn’t notice.
“What next?” Adina asked.
“Let’s stay here for a few minutes. There will be an opportunity for us.” Since she was connected to the shadows inside the room, she knew what was
happening inside.
“We’re waiting then.”
At the training ground, Unity remained in the shadow of the True Immortal. They remained there for a couple of minutes before they started to move away.
Just when they passed the shadow of a pillar, she jumped out of the shadow and entered the shadow of the pillar.
The shadow she jumped into had a clear path to the 24 cages. However, instead of moving, she relaxed and tapped into the connection with the tower,
The mission had now changed from rescuing a single person to rescuing hundreds of them. She couldn’t just turn away from the hundreds and rescue
just one person.
So she connected to her sisters.
“Ladies, we have a problem.”
