Chapter 648 - 646: Finding the Wintergourd Clan a Place to Settle
Chapter 648: Chapter 646: Finding the Wintergourd Clan a Place to Settle
Aaron Sinclair leaned over and kissed his little sister on the cheek.
"There, there! A kiss from your big brother."
"Hee hee."
With her daughter in her arms and her son by her side.
Celeste Grant’s gaze fell tenderly on her daughter’s face, then shifted to the handsome, extraordinary boy beside her. She smiled faintly, a happiness that came from the bottom of her heart.
Just then, the little girl in her arms waved her hands and cried, "Daddy, Daddy."
Hearing her daughter call for her father, Celeste Grant looked up. Standing by the waterfall not far away was a man. He was tall and slender, dressed in white robes embroidered with golden cloud patterns. At that moment, he was looking her way, his gaze gentle.
The sunlight was perfect.
A slight smile touched the corners of his lips.
’The kids’ father is so easy on the eyes.’
’So handsome.’
Who would have thought a man who looked like this was the Demon God? And "Demon God" was no empty title; it was a reputation forged through slaughter. But the cold-blooded, ruthless Demon God now had a wife and children, and with them, warmth. He could probably never go back to being the Demon God he once was. But who could say he didn’t prefer his life now to how it was before? The answer was a resounding yes.
He loved his life now.
He loved Celeste Grant.
He loved his children.
Seeing Javier Sinclair, Celeste Grant walked over with her daughter in her arms. "Hey, Archfiend."
Javier Sinclair gave her a doting look. "Our daughter is right here. Call me ’husband.’"
Celeste Grant rolled her eyes at him, but she leaned in with a smile. "Husband, let’s go chop the filling and make dumplings. We’re having them for dinner tonight."
He chuckled softly.
"Alright, I’ll listen to my wife."
Celeste Grant placed their daughter in his arms. "You hold her."
He hummed in agreement.
The Archfiend, a complete slave to his daughter, held her with practiced ease. He cradled her with one arm and held his wife’s hand with the other, as if these movements were etched into his very bones. They started walking toward a spot not far off.
Aaron Sinclair’s voice came from behind them.
"Daddy, Mommy, little sister! Did you three forget about me?"
Aaron Sinclair raised his hand and jogged to catch up.
Celeste Grant turned her head, looked at him, and laughed. "Son, you’re a big boy now. You don’t still need Mommy to carry you, do you?"
Aaron Sinclair cozied up to her and took her other hand. "Mommy, I’m only three this year. I’m still a baby. What’s wrong with wanting Mommy to carry me?"
Javier Sinclair said, "You’re a grown-up now. Calling yourself a baby? Have you no shame?"
As they spoke, the family had already reached Nerida and the others. Aaron Sinclair trotted over to Nerida’s side. "Aunt Nerida, tell them! Am I a kid or not?"
Nerida burst out laughing.
"Yes, yes, of course. Our Aaron could live for another thousand years and he’d still always be a child in our hearts."
Aaron Sinclair looked smugly at his father. "See, Dad? Even Aunt Nerida says I’m still a kid."
Javier Sinclair said, "Nerida, you spoil him too much."
Nerida just smiled.
"The Exalted One, in my eyes, you’re a child, too. You must be at least seven this year."
Javier Sinclair’s face darkened.
"Nerida, it seems you’ve had too much free time lately."
Nerida rolled her eyes.
"The Exalted One, would you like to send me into the Ten Thousand Souls Banner for some ’refining’?"
Nearby, Elder Lawson and the others struggled to hold back their laughter.
Javier Sinclair sighed.
’In this life, there were two women he could never win against.’
’One was Celeste Grant.’
’The other was Nerida.’
’And of all the luck, those two had found each other.’
’His status in the family was shrinking by the day.’
’Wait, did he even have any status to begin with?’
...
To celebrate their son’s return and the family’s reunion, Celeste Grant immediately took Nerida and the others to prepare the filling and make dumplings. The entire Ashkaron Palace was bustling with activity, and many faces were smudged with white flour.
But even so, every one of them wore a smile.
By afternoon, everything was ready. They were just waiting to put the dumplings in the pot, but Aaron Sinclair was nowhere to be found.
Celeste Grant asked several people, but no one had seen him.
"Nerida, have you seen Aaron?"
"No! Wasn’t the Young Master with Elder Lawson and the others?"
Elder Lawson shook his head.
"I wasn’t paying attention. Hey, that’s right, where did our big Young Master go?"
Celeste Grant let out a soft "Huh?" and said, "Hmm? Where did that boy run off to? I haven’t seen him for a while. Where is he hiding?"
A figure appeared beside her. It was Javier Sinclair.
He glanced at Celeste Grant and said, "Stop looking. Our son isn’t here right now." As he spoke, he tossed the Purple Fire Tripod in his hand to her.
Celeste Grant looked at the small tripod in her hand. "Aaron’s Purple Fire Tripod... Where is he?"
Javier Sinclair explained, "While you and Nerida were busy kneading dough, Aaron slipped away to the southern part of the Demonic Domain. He said he was going to find a place for the Wintergourd Clan, who are migrating here as a whole."
’The Wintergourd Clan? Those wintergourds from the Shadowmist Clan?’
An image of two dark, round wintergourds instantly popped into Celeste Grant’s mind.
"Bullfrog and Tadpole?"
"Huh? Wait... did you say the entire clan is migrating?"
Javier Sinclair nodded slightly.
"Mhm."
Celeste Grant looked utterly astonished.
"So you’re saying your son brought the entire clan of those two wintergourds over? How come I didn’t know about this?"
Javier Sinclair stated simply, "You didn’t ask."
"Well, I never would have thought to ask! An entire clan migrating... how many of them are there?"
Javier Sinclair said softly, "It’s not too bad. Only a few tens of thousands."
"Tens of thousands..." Celeste Grant hissed, an image subconsciously forming in her mind.
A scene of countless black wintergourds, large and small, appearing all at once in a dense swarm.
’The mental image was too beautiful to contemplate.’
Javier continued, "Those wintergourds are fiercely loyal to our son. That’s probably why he brought them all back with him this time. When an entire clan migrates to an unfamiliar land, the most important thing is a place to survive. It was right for Aaron to go find them a place to live first. Without a place to settle down and sustain themselves, anyone would feel uneasy, especially when you’re moving with your whole family, your entire clan."
Celeste Grant hummed in agreement.
"Alright, then. Since they’re here, it doesn’t matter what race they are—they’re our people now. Later, let’s see what those wintergourds need and have someone send some supplies over."
"Let’s start cooking the dumplings. They should be ready right around the time our son gets back."
「Meanwhile.」
Beyond the southern border of the Demonic Domain, near a mountain range rich with Spiritual Energy.
Aaron Sinclair’s figure hovered in the air. He had just surveyed the terrain. The soil was fertile and the Spiritual Energy was abundant. There was even a Spirit Vein beneath the ground. A river snaked its way around the area not far away.
’This place is perfect for Pip’s clan.’
’The temperature and the weather are both suitable.’
He reached out and untied the Ancient Jade from his waist.
He raised a hand and formed a hand seal.
The next moment, countless wisps of black mist flew out from the Ancient Jade. Plumes of dark fog swirled around him. In an instant, the air was filled with black mist, darting about cheerfully.
"What a great place!"
"Wow, the Spiritual Energy feels so nice!"
"There’s a Spirit Vein under the ground here."
"The soil here is really good. Master, this place is perfect for clearing land and farming."
