Pregnant Cultivator, Doted by Big Boss
Chapter 647 - 645: Who Wants to Provoke the Immortal-Demon War?
Chapter 647: Chapter 645: Who Wants to Provoke the Immortal-Demon War?
The speaker was Javier Sinclair.
His voice was deep, yet his tone was utterly calm, without a single ripple of emotion. To him, attacking Empyria seemed as trivial as sipping tea.
Perhaps startled by the new voice, the presence in the void paused, sounding bewildered.
"You... Who are you?"
"What’s going on? Why is this aura a complete void? I cannot see your face, nor can I pinpoint your location. It’s as if you’re everywhere at once. This is impossible."
The moment he finished speaking,
Javier Sinclair’s voice rang out once more.
"Do all of you from Empyria have such poor memories? You just said you were going to The Demon Realm to demand an explanation. Have you forgotten already? Oh, right, you also said you’d ’remembered’ my son. Excellent. I’ve remembered you, too."
As Javier Sinclair’s words faded,
the voice from the void went silent for a moment, as if choked. When it spoke again, however, its pitch had risen sharply.
"You... It’s you..."
"The Demon God... Javier Sinclair?"
"Mhm," Javier Sinclair said faintly. "The Demon God is merely a title."
"No... If you are The Demon God, how can you be here?"
At this,
before the voice could say more,
Celeste Grant laughed.
She spoke up, "Hey now, that’s where you’re wrong. Who made a rule that The Demon God can’t go out for a stroll? Must The Demon God stay cooped up in The Demon Realm? The world is a big place; we’d like to see it too. Besides, does everyone have to report their travel plans to you? You can be as nosy as you want with your own people in Empyria, but you can’t possibly think your authority extends across realms to my Archfiend, can you?"
Standing beside Celeste Grant, Aaron Sinclair couldn’t help but laugh. "Exactly! Is there something wrong with you? You yourself just pointed out I have the blood of The Demon God. If I, his son, am not in The Demon Realm, isn’t it perfectly normal for my own father to be here? Aren’t families supposed to stick together? You’re acting so shocked, like some country bumpkin who’s never seen the world. It’s pathetic."
The voice was stunned into silence.
’There was actually nothing wrong with that logic.’
’He couldn’t find a single way to argue against it.’
’It was just so infuriating.’
The voice from the void spoke again. "As far as I know, The Demon God has always remained within The Demon Realm, never leaving. How could he possibly be here? Who are you, really?"
Aaron Sinclair sneered. "And what if he is? Can’t a guy have more than one identity when he’s out and about? Who says my father can’t be in The Demon Realm and be here at the same time?"
The voice from the void returned.
"So, what is The Demon Realm trying to achieve? Why did you senselessly slaughter my people from Celestria? Empyria and The Demon Realm have always kept to themselves. Are you trying to provoke an Immortal-Demon War?"
Hearing this,
Aaron Sinclair flicked his sleeve and sneered, his gaze fixed on the void as if he could see right through the emptiness to the speaker on the other side.
He said, "My dad was right. Are the heads of you Empyria folk filled with flour? Do you even know how to use your brains? You must have a serious persecution complex!" He paused for a moment, then raised his voice.
"Do you know who my family is?" He raised a hand and laughed. "We are the leaders of The Demonic Path. If we wanted to cause trouble for someone, we would do it directly. Why would we need to resort to these sneaky tactics? Who do you think you’re looking down on?"
"And another thing..."
He pointed a finger at the void and said coldly, "And to those in the shadows trying to harm us with these petty tricks—I don’t care who you are, I’m talking to every last one of you—get your necks ready. This Young Master will personally knock your skulls off and turn them into dog bowls." ’Wait a second, that line sounds a bit familiar,’ he thought. ’Whatever, not important.’
The voice in the void fell silent.
’Because he had a point. Yes, who was Javier Sinclair? The great Demon God himself. His son was clearly not to be trifled with either. If they really wanted to cause trouble, given the temperaments of that father-son duo, they probably would’ve just charged straight to their doorstep. So who exactly was trying to start an Immortal-Demon War? And for what purpose?’
’It seems I need to investigate this matter thoroughly. I cannot let the mastermind behind this succeed.’
"Fine. I will investigate this matter thoroughly."
"However, Lord Corvus of the Golden Crow Clan died at your hand. For this, you must give me an explanation, surely?"
Aaron Sinclair chuckled.
"An explanation? You people from Empyria sure have a lot of nerve. I consider myself a polite person, but that courtesy doesn’t extend to everyone. I was minding my own business at home when your Lord Corvus came down to the Lower Realm looking for trouble and tried to kill me on sight. Did you think I wouldn’t fight back? That I’d just stand there and let him kill me? He wanted me dead, so I killed him first. It’s perfectly reasonable. So, what kind of ’explanation’ do you want?"
Before the voice in the void could respond,
another voice rang out with a cold laugh.
"My son needs to give *you* an explanation? Little Crown Prince of Empyria, before you say such things, go ask your ancestors if they would dare to come here and demand one. That’s right, you also mentioned coming to my Demon Realm for an explanation. I remember the last person who said that was... which one of your ancestors was it again? Go pay respects at his grave for me."
"There’s a saying I’ve always agreed with: if you leave me alone, I’ll leave you alone. That crow tried to kill my son, and my son killed him. That was his fate; he got what was coming to him. Oh... wait, it was a Golden Crow, wasn’t it? My mistake. Not that it matters. The Golden Crow Clan... I’ve killed so many of them back in the Ancient Times I’ve lost count. Frankly, they should be grateful I haven’t annihilated their entire clan."
"You..."
The voice in the void tried to speak again,
but Javier Sinclair cut him off with a single word.
"Begone."
In that instant, the dark, heavy sky cleared.
The churning clouds vanished, and sunlight poured down. The sky was a clear, endless blue, as if the entire confrontation had been nothing but an illusion.
Celeste Grant raised a hand to shield her eyes from the sun.
"What a beautiful day."
Aaron Sinclair nodded slightly.
"Mhm, it really is nice and warm." He walked over to his mother and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Mother, don’t let some nobody ruin your mood. Come on, let’s go get ready to make dumplings. I want dumplings for dinner tonight."
Celeste Grant nodded slightly.
"Alright."
Not far from them,
a little girl came running over.
"Mommy, hold me."
Celeste Grant smiled, reaching down to scoop her up. "Okay... Mommy will hold you."
Looking at the beautiful little girl in her arms, Celeste Grant softened her voice and asked gently, "Was Mommy’s precious baby scared?"
The little girl shook her head, her big eyes blinking as she looked up at her. "Not at all! I’m super strong. If bad guys dare to bully Mommy, I’ll chase them away. I’ll make my buggies bite them."
Celeste Grant smiled and placed a kiss on her daughter’s cheek.
Aaron Sinclair reached out and ruffled the little girl’s hair. "My sister is the best. But even if there are bad guys, you don’t need to be afraid. Big brother will always protect you."
The little girl touched her head and said, "Hey! Don’t pat my head, Big Brother! It’ll stop me from growing tall!"
