[So he can use his spatial ability in the basement without any difficulty!]

The viewers immediately flooded the comment section when they saw Archer throwing all the Energy Cells into a spatial portal connected to the Energy Cell storage area at another power plant.

He could even control the size of the spatial portal he created so that it wouldn’t damage anything around it.

[He really didn’t use that ability just so Summer could help him earlier!]

[Bro just wants to make her believe that she deserves all the credits!]

[Bro is such a simp!]

Summer clicked her tongue and pushed the floating panel in front of her to the side because the comments were becoming more and more ridiculous.

"If you can create a portal like this, does that mean you can go anywhere without a vehicle?" Summer suddenly asked to ease the atmosphere between them.

While throwing the Energy Cells into the portal one by one, Archer replied, "I can go anywhere as long as I know the place. But I rarely used the spatial portal before."

Summer was about to ask why, but then she stopped because she knew that Archer’s pollution level had been too high before, so his spatial portal might have been unstable.

Well, at least Archer would not have much trouble controlling his ability for the time being.

Summer quickly pushed those thoughts aside and went back to tossing Energy Cells into the portal.

The storage area was much larger than she had expected, with thousands of Energy Cells still sitting neatly on the shelves. Some had fallen onto the floor during their fight with the salamanders, but fortunately, most of them were still in good condition.

Summer picked them up one after another and tossed them through the portal.

At first, she was full of energy.

One Energy Cell.

Two Energy Cells.

Ten.

Fifty.

A hundred.

By the time half an hour passed, however, Summer was beginning to question her life choices.

"Why are there so many?" she complained while picking up yet another Energy Cell.

"You wanted the credits," Archer reminded her.

Summer immediately straightened her back. Oh, right. She wanted the money.

[HAHAHAHA ARCHER KNOWS EXACTLY HOW TO MOTIVATE HER.]

[Summer’s weakness discovered: money.]

[She looked half-dead until he mentioned the credits lmao]

[KEEP GOING, MISS BUNNY! THINK ABOUT YOUR BANK ACCOUNT!]

Summer did exactly that. For the next hour, the two of them continued clearing the storage area. Finally, about an hour and a half later, Summer picked up the last energy cell.

She stared at it for a moment. "Finally."

Without any hesitation, she threw it through the portal and a second later, the system notification appeared.

[Total Energy Cells Rescued: 5,073]

[Total Credits: 5,073,000]

Summer immediately threw both hands into the air. "I’m rich!"

[Girl, please have some shame!]

[At least TRY to act like you’ve seen money before.]

[Isn’t the Beaumont family rich? Why does this girl act so poor?]

[Oh, sister... she’s just their forgotten adopted daughter. They probably stopped giving her pocket money after she turned seventeen.]

And that was actually the truth.

The original owner of this body had been kicked out of the Beaumont family home after she turned seventeen. Or, to be more exact, she had been kicked out because she pushed Winter down the stairs.

Had she really done it? Absolutely.

Summer was not going to rewrite history and pretend the original owner had been completely innocent. She had pushed Winter, and Winter had gotten hurt because of it.

But there was also a reason why she had snapped.

Before that incident, Winter had copied the original Summer’s academy paper and submitted it as her own. Because Winter turned hers in first, everyone assumed that Summer was the one who had copied her.

No matter how much Summer tried to explain herself, no one believed her.

After all, between the sweet and talented biological daughter of the Beaumont family and their troublesome adopted daughter, who would they believe?

In the end, the original Summer received punishment from the academy, while Winter escaped without any consequences.

Seeing those memories only made Summer more annoyed with Winter and the entire Beaumont family.

Even if they already had their biological daughter back, throwing away the child they had raised for years was still cruel.

If Summer ever met Mr. and Mrs. Beaumont, she would definitely give both of them a good slap.

"Did you get the credits?" Archer’s voice pulled Summer out of her thoughts.

She looked over and saw that the spatial portal had already disappeared.

Summer quickly nodded. "Yes. I got them." She paused before asking again, "Are you really sure you don’t want any?"

Archer shook his head. "No."

His answer was so quick that Summer decided not to ask for a third time. If he did not want more money, that was his problem.

"I still have to clear this zone," Archer continued. "But if you want to leave, I can help you get out."

He paused for a moment before adding, "Your base payment will be cut by fifty percent if you leave before the mission is complete. But I’m guessing your base payment wasn’t that high to begin with, right?"

Summer pressed her lips into a thin line as she replied, "No."

He really did not have to remind her how poor an F-Rank Guide was.

Every Sentinel and Guide received a mission whenever they entered a Polluted Zone. The mission could be different depending on the zone and the person entering it, but they were expected to complete it before leaving.

Summer’s mission was actually the same as Archer’s, which was to clear Polluted Zone 87.

It was the same mission she had received when she first entered this place with Team 8, and leaving the team had not made the mission magically disappear.

Of course, she could still leave early if she wanted to and no one was going to lock the exit and force her to stay inside until every mutated creature was dead.

However, if someone left after completing at least half of their assigned mission, their basic payment would be cut by fifty percent.

Even so, as an F-Rank Guide who seemed to be nothing more than a burden to the team, her basic payment was very small. It was less than 10,000 credits.

After everything she had earned today, losing half of that amount would barely make a difference.

Summer was seriously considering leaving when she glanced at her livestream panel and discovered that she was close to reaching two million viewers.

Suddenly, staying in the Polluted Zone a little longer did not sound so bad.

"I can stay a little longer. Besides, don’t you need a Guide?" Summer continued as if the nearly two million viewers had absolutely nothing to do with her decision. "I can keep going with you."

The comment section immediately saw through her.

[Miss Bunny, just admit that you don’t want to leave your #2 sugar daddy!!]

[Is this actually because your livestream viewers keep increasing?]

[Summer, don’t listen to them! I’ll give you my soul if you let me see Archer a little longer!]

[Forget your soul. SEND GIFTS.]
