Chapter 351: Chapter 349: Mega Charizard X vs 100 Charizards – Part 1

The massive leader Charizard stood like a living mountain in the center of the arena, wings half-spread, crimson flame roaring. Behind him, forty-nine of the valley’s strongest formed a living wall of scale, claw, and fire.

Their combined presence pressed down on the air itself. Ordinary trainers would have felt their knees weaken. Ash only smirked.

He reached into his jacket and drew out a small, crystalline device that pulsed with soft multicolored light the Universal Mega Evolution Key. The Key Stone set into its center flared the moment his fingers closed around it.

"Charizard," Ash called, voice clear and steady across the silent valley. "Let’s show them the true might of our bond."

Charizard answered with a deep, eager roar.

The white core of his tail flame surged.

Ash raised the Key high. Blue Aura and golden energy erupted from both trainer and Pokémon at the same instant, spiraling upward in a column of light that forced every wild Charizard to shield their eyes.

Scales darkened from orange to midnight black. The single horn on Charizard’s head split and lengthened into two fierce spikes.

Wings stretched wider, edges sharpening into blades of pure power. The white-cored flame vanished, replaced by a blazing azure inferno that burned hotter and wilder than any fire the valley had ever seen. Muscles swelled with new strength. The very air around him crackled with draconic pressure.

When the light faded, Mega Charizard X stood in the arena taller, broader, radiating an aura so intense that several of the fifty challengers instinctively took a step back.

The leader’s eyes widened. None of them had ever imagined their kind could evolve beyond the final stage.

A stunned silence gripped the entire Charicific Valley.

Liza’s voice broke first, high with disbelief.

"What... what is that?! How can a Charizard change like that?!"

Daisy Oak stepped forward with a bright, knowing smile, hands on her hips. "That’s Mega Evolution, Liza. You really should have seen Gary’s Blastoise Mega Evolve during the Kanto League semi-finals against Ash’s Dragonite. The whole stadium nearly lost its mind."

Liza blinked rapidly. "I... I thought only Blastoise could do something like that. I heard rumors, but I never "

The girls burst into soft giggles. Misty shook her head, still grinning. "Mega Evolution is a rare phenomenon, not limited to one species."

Erika’s gentle voice explained further. "It requires three things: a Mega Stone specific to the Pokémon, a Key Stone held by the trainer, and most importantly a bond deep enough to awaken the hidden power."

Melody nodded eagerly. "The stronger the trust and connection, the more complete the transformation."

Giselle’s calm eyes met Liza’s. "Master and Charizard have that bond. They always have."

Sabrina added quietly, "Aura helps stabilize it even further. What you’re seeing is the result of years of absolute trust."

Liza’s expression shifted from shock to dawning realization. A massive, almost radiant smile spread across her face as she glanced at Charla. If what the girls said was true, then all she needed was a Key Stone and a Charizardite.

The bond between her and Charla was already deep enough she was certain of it.

The thought of flying beside a Mega-Evolved Charla made her heart race with sudden excitement.

While Liza stood lost in that hopeful revelation, Ash’s eyes never left the battlefield.

"Mega Charizard X," he said, voice low and sharp. "Begin."

The black-scaled giant moved.

In a split second that almost no one could follow, Mega Charizard X blurred forward. His right fist, wreathed in freezing blue energy, smashed into the nearest wild Charizard with an Ice Punch that flash-froze scales and sent the opponent crashing unconscious into the stone. In the same fluid motion his left fist crackled with golden electricity Thunder Punch slamming into a second Charizard hard enough to launch it across the arena like a broken doll. Both foes hit the ground and did not rise.

The speed and power were so overwhelming that even the massive leader’s eyes widened in pure shock. It was the same casual, absolute dominance that had once left legendary warriors speechless.

A ripple of unease ran through the remaining forty-eight.

The leader recovered first. He threw his head back and released a thunderous command roar. Ten of the strongest mid-tier Charizard immediately broke from the formation and shot forward, surrounding Mega Charizard X in a tight circle of wings and flame. Their coordinated Flamethrowers, Dragon Rushes, and Aerial Aces converged from every direction at once.

Ash’s smirk never faded.

"Break the ring. Dragon Claw full arc. Then Heat Wave upward."

Mega Charizard X’s azure flame flared.

His claws became twin blades of pure draconic energy. He spun once, a perfect black-and-blue cyclone, and the Dragon Claws carved through three attackers in a single sweeping arc.

The remaining seven were blasted skyward by a colossal Heat Wave that turned the air itself into a shimmering furnace. Before they could recover, Ash’s next commands came in rapid succession.

"Thunder Punch left flank. Ice Punch right. Finish the center with Blast Burn."

The black Charizard became a storm of opposing elements. Golden lightning and freezing ice punched outward in perfect synchrony, dropping four more. The final three, still reeling from the Heat Wave, never stood a chance as Mega Charizard X slammed both fists into the ground. A concentrated Blast Burn erupted beneath them, swallowing the last of the ten in a pillar of blue-white destruction.

When the smoke cleared, twelve of the fifty already lay defeated two in the opening instant, ten more in the space of less than a minute. Mega Charizard X stood unmoved in the center of the cratered arena, azure flame roaring, black scales gleaming under the valley sun.

The Aura that wrapped around him pulsed in perfect harmony with Ash’s own.

Pikachu thrust a tiny fist into the air. "Pika-pika!"

Eevee bounced with excitement. "Vee!"

The girls erupted into proud cheers.

Misty cupped her hands. "That’s the power of their bond!"

Daisy laughed in pure delight. "Gary’s Blastoise would be jealous!"

Erika’s eyes shone. "Beautiful control..."

Melody spun in place. "He’s unstoppable!"

Giselle’s voice was soft but fierce with pride. "Master... Charizard... keep going."

Sabrina’s faint smile carried quiet certainty. "The valley is already losing."

Liza stared, one hand pressed to her chest, the earlier smile still lingering even as awe overtook her features. Charla beside her let out a low, almost yearning rumble, eyes locked on the black-scaled form that had once been an ordinary Charizard.

High above, the massive leader Charizard’s expression had hardened into something between fury and genuine respect. He had never imagined a single outsider could reduce twelve of his strongest so quickly.

With another powerful roar he signaled the next wave twenty more of the elite while he himself remained at the rear, waiting for the moment to enter.

Ash rested a hand on Mega Charizard X’s neck, feeling the boundless power and the unbreakable bond flowing between them.

"We’re just getting started," he said quietly.

"Show them everything."

Mega Charizard X answered with a roar that shook the cliffs themselves, azure flame exploding upward like a second sun.

The continuous battle for the title of King of the Charicific Valley raged on, and the remaining thirty-eight challengers plus their towering leader were about to learn just how vast the gap had become.
